Stayed for a night, as had an early meeting in nearby Welshpool. The Dragon has been our place of choice for a number of years. The food and ambience are very acceptable. Had the Fish and chunky chips, whilst my wife had Gammon, with all the trimmings. The Cod and Chips was reasonably priced for a hotel menu. The best...

Most unfortunately they were all booked up upon my arrival . Being on a walking trek and learning that the closest lodging was 6 miles away was a bummer, but 2 friendly young staff got on the phone and finally secured a place for me, even though it wasn't easy, and then set me up with a taxi. All with...

We (my husband and I together with our favourite family members) spent a fantastic evening at The Dragon on a Saturday night in October. Friendly staff and nice bar environment were a great welcome. We studied our menus which my veggie husband was so pleased to see actually offered him a choice and were not pressured to order as we...

I stayed at this hotel on business following a customer recommendation. We had s fabulous meal in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly staff. Unfortunately the room did not live up to the restaurant. The bathroom had black mould around the silicone, the shower had no power and it was generally old fashioned. I recommend the...

Dear Jason Thank you for your recent review. All our bedrooms are being refurbished over a period of time – as a 17th century building we know some of the rooms are a little quirky, Although at the same time – full of character. Unfortunately we still have a few rooms to finish off, which we are hoping to complete...

Wonderful little town with The Dragon Hotel for lunch really great , wonderful food plenty of choice. The staff are very friendly and good. The food is obiviously freshly cooked and well presented. The bar area is lovely to sit in and you can eat there in the conservatory. So a great end to a lovely morning visit. Would love...

My wife and I stopped for an overnight on our way to Milford Haven from Leeds, just to break a long journey. Our first reaction was uncertainty due to the slightly shabby entrance but we were soon happy with our choice as the place was quite busy and the staff very pleasant. The bedroom was comfy and well equipped, the...

Laid back, friendly and charming. Everyone working here was helpful and obviously keen to make our stay enjoyable. The food in the history restaurant was delicious and surprisingly inexpensive for the quality delivered on the plate. The rooms are as giggled toggled as befits a fine old building. If you revel in formula chain hotels this might throw you a...

Firstly this is the first review I've made that has a negative feel. The Dragon is a nice hotel in a lovely little town. We started with a drink in the main bar. This is a nice bright room, it's very comfortable. There is a great range of beers. Our table for lunch was booked for 13:30. We arrived in...

Hello – we note your comments Let me first apologise that your personal experience was unsatisfactory. We had explained to your main group organiser on several occasions before your visit that, as there were over 30 of you, And we already had bookings in place- there would have to be a staggered Sunday lunch service, so some of your group...

Nice staff here very friendly. Great meal. Room ok but very small not really a business hotel I think as felt I was in box room just enough room to get changed and go to bed. This did not affect my stay as I had no work to do in my room on this trip. If visiting the area for...
