We had the pleasure of spending on night at Le Manoir in August, and I'm pleased to say it met and in most cases exceeded our expectations. Firstly the obvious question, is it Covid secure - and the answer is a resounding yes. Temperature is taken on arrival and all staff wear visors. A gift bag in the room contained hand sanitizer, a mask and disposable gloves. As it was a nice day, the seating outside in the gardens were very well spaced. The grounds were spacious and the hotel is operating at a reduced capacity so there was very little chance of being within 2 metres of someone else. For the 24 hours we were there, the face visors were the only real reminder of the outside world. The courtyard room was exceptional, huge bathroom, great bed and plenty of space. The gardens were great to wander around in and the service for drinks was attentive and quick. The dinner was a 7 course tasting menu which was great with additional wine pairing. The food was tasty but also quite rich - so after eating home food for 5 months, it was a change! A one night stay isn't cheap but for 24 hours it felt like everything was normal, which for us was well worth it and is as glowing a reference i can give.

Dear Nestacres Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write this fabulous review of your recent visit to Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. It is so important to know that you felt comfortable and secure during your visit in these ‘new normal’ times. How lovely that you got the weather to be able to relax in, and explore, the gardens. It is also fabulous to know you enjoyed your accommodation and felt well looked after during dinner. Your recommendation is much appreciated and do we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future. On behalf of Raymond Blanc and the team at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons

This was a return visit and we were yet again wowed by the attention to detail, style, service and quality.
Our room was a Garden Suite in a separate building, Dovecote, a two storey suite with bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs, curved walls of course, and curved staircase. The bath was awesome, keyhole shaped claw foot freestanding bath with ¾ circular shower cubicle at larger end with side jets in three rings as well as rainfall overhead.
We were welcomed by a lovely fruit platter on the windowsill (figs from the tree growing outside) and a half bottle of champagne on ice. The suite had a personal courtyard with fountain, table and two chairs just by the front door but it was right next to the passageway to other rooms at one side and was therefore not totally secluded.
The gardens had definitely matured since our last visit and the sculptures are quirky and dramatic. It's well worth a pre dinner amble.
Following our canapes in the lounge, we enjoyed the incredible seven course tasting menu (swapped main course pigeon for a la carte lamb, at a supplement). and decided against the paired wines, bought by the glass instead from the extensive selection.
Breakfast was also stylish and excellent, superb service all round, a real treat.

My family & I wanted to go to Le Manoir for a long time having heard about Raymond Blanc for many years. On arrival we checked in to our 3 bedrooms which are stunning & all totally unique. My wife particularly loved the huge & luxurious bathroom!
After a tour of the incredible kitchens where we met celebrated chefs Gary Jones, Benoit Blin & even Raymond Blanc himself, we walked the extensive gardens where they grow so much of their amazing produce.
Canapes & predinner drinks were fabulous & then in for dinner in the stylish busy restaurant where we chose from the A la carte menu. Appetizer of pumpkin tortellini was superb & then followed by starters that looked & tasted divine. We had Tuna Tartare, Wild mushroom & truffle risotto, Langoustines, warm duck liver
Mains arrived soon after which were amazing with Braised turbot, Venison fillet, spiced monkfish and tasted great. Testament to all courses were clean plates at the end and lovely to see so many of the vegetables, salads & herbs from the garden adorning some of the dishes
A refreshing pre-dessert of chilled blood orange with Campari sorbet followed. Desserts again "wowed" us with Calvados souffle, Pear croustillant, Millionaire shortbread. Service was very slick, professional & still friendly & relaxed
Easy to see why this has been one of the best places for so many years.
Breakfast after a great sleep was superb in selection & presentation.
Worth every penny & should be on your list of places to go. Huge praise to all.

Having been to other Michelin-starred restaurants I wasn't quite prepared for the magic of this iconic place which has maintained its 2 Michelin stars for the past 35 years. Le Manoir is at the end of a driveway , set in acres of immaculately kept gardens and has that magical French feel about it. This is not the kind of place where you can be critical , staff everywhere , nothing out of place , all the furniture carefully bought and positioned for a reason. You do feel special just being there and the staff take great effort to ensure your experience is something to remember.
We arrived for Lunch with sommelier paired wines. The food was amazing , even better than we had expected. The highlight was , without doubt , the truffled hen's egg . When the plate was placed on the table another waiter appeared with a pot of tea and poured some tea around the truffled egg. I couldn't help thinking how strange this might taste but the tea was wild mushroom tea and I've never tasted anything this good before. Everything about the lunch was so well organised , faultless.
After lunch we walked around the grounds . It was winter so there was a limited amount on show but the water features made up for this and included a Japanese section. Very special.
Certainly lives up to its reputation , expensive but well worth the price for such an amazing experience.

This was our 4th visit to eat and 3rd overnight stay. It was my daughter's 21st birthday so we had two suites this time. As on all previous visits, we had a wonderful time. The staff are consistently wonderful - charming and helpful.
The service is near faultless and nothing whatsoever is too much trouble.
The food is glorious and exquisitely presented. The paired wines (they have 3 levels, we had the mid range ones) were delightful and perfectly matched. We added cheese and port which I'm glad I did, it wasn't necessary at all, but nevertheless it was delicious.
New Covid curfew rules meant that dinner began at 6pm instead of the 8.30pm we originally booked and despite it only being day 2 of the new rules and the restaurant having to change almost everybody's reservation time, you would never have known. It felt like there was no issue and all was under control. Still managed to have time to sit with whisky in the bar at the end of the evening with no difficulties presented.
Overall felt very safe, one of the housekeeping staff explained that they fog the room with a sanitiser machine after cleaning it which was reassuring.
Yes, the cost is high, but it is worth what you pay for the experience and quality you get.
We will not hesitate to visit a 5th time.

my wife & children treated me to a bucket list night at Le Manoir with 7 course dinner and from the time we were met in the car park to being waved goodbye at the door the whole thing was a world class experience. The room? gorgeous, lovely bed, little courtyard, marble bathroom, background music; the dining? you're met in the main house, escorted to a sitting room for pre dinner drinks, shown to your table at the appointed time & served a fantastic 7 course dining menu; our 'mains' were langoustine, turbot with scallop and roast breast of duck; I'm not a dessert person so swapped them out for the lovely cheese board with no questions asked; you're offered three wine flights, the classic looked nice enough but this sort of menu & occasion deserved more so we stepped up to the 'prestige flight', expensive but thoroughly worth it to enhance the evening. Breakfast back in the same conservatory was delicious, lots of fresh pastries & things plus hot options, I had a lovely kipper, wife had scrambled eggs, mushrooms , spinach & tomatoes, all very delicious. Every member of staff we met were lovely & informally professional so we were happy to sign off on the 12.5% service charge on the entire bill. any issues? yes, I think tea & coffee making facilities in the room are a must these days. You spend a lot of money here but hey ho, it's sensational and bucket list 7 you can't be buried with your money.

We stayed at Le Manoir as part of a recent UK based holiday having cancelled a trip to the South of France due to the current situation. The combination of a charming country house with picturesque gardens, and exceptional food and service, almost made us glad that we had had to cancel our original holiday!
Firstly, the food was excellent across the board, from the seven course dinner through to breakfast and even home made lemon drizzle cake that accompanied afternoon coffee on the terrace. Even arriving with high expectations of the dining experience, they were met and exceeded on each occasion. Raymond Blanc did the rounds at table during dinner and his genuine enthusiasm for the menus produce and the hotel itself was very clear.
Secondly, the overall experience and level of service was superb throughout. Even with the current restrictions, service was attentive and polished, enthusiastic without being overbearing. The reception, bar and restaurant staff are all a credit to the hotel.
Thirdly and finally, our room was very well appointed and comfortably furnished. We had a junior suite, Hyacinth, which was spacious with relatively neutral decor (some of the rooms are very dramatic in style which isn’t to our personal taste). Welcome amenities, including Belmond branded safety kits, as well as a complimentary decanter of Madeira, were nice touches. A quality, comfortable bed was most welcome when returning from our long and indulgent dinner.
Personally, we feel the true hallmark of a hotel of this reputation (and commensurate price point) is coming away feeling that the quality, and enjoyment, of the overall experience offered value and delivered on what was expected. Le Manoir did this in every respect and in our opinion is fully deserving of its well earned reputation.

From the minute we arrived it was just amazing. The reception, the service, the grounds, the hotel, just exceptional and very, very special.
My husband brought me here to celebrate my 50th and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate.
Our room was Botticelli which for one night was just perfect. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, very quiet and beautifully presented, with the bathroom up a spiral staircase containing two side by side deep baths ( as well as a shower). Not normally a lover of baths I hadn't realised that sinking into one of them, with with piping hot water and delicious provided bubbles, a glass of champagne and my husband in the other bath alongside me, was everything I needed. It was heaven.
The 7 course evening meal, with an accompanying flight of wine, was just sublime. Everything was so beautifully presented and so delicious. I am celiac and I was well catered for. One of the courses was based around mushrooms which my husband doesn’t like , but this wasn’t a problem and an alternative was provided for him. Every detail was exquisite. The service was second to none . The staff were so attentive and friendly without being intrusive, you instantly felt relaxed. I watched as they brought out a course for the table beside us where one of the party had gone to the toilet. They noticed this, retracted all the plates back to the kitchen before even approaching the table and then returned with cloches for all the plates to keep them warm until the lady returned. The table were completely unaware this had even happened. So smoothly done. The sommelier was very attentive and generous with her refills and, although slightly hard to understand owing to the mask, provided history and details on each course of wine.
I am not a great sleeper and am usually even worse when I am away from home, but the bed was so luxurious and comfortable I slept so well. As fabulous as the upstairs bathroom was, it was a bit of an inconvenience when you needed the toilet during the night. For one night it was absolutely fine, but any longer the novelty would have worn off.
The breakfast in the morning was just fabulous. Again I was well catered for and the gluten free pastries were just one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. The gluten free bread / toast was also the best I’ve had. I had gluten free muffins with spinach, scrambled egg and smoked salmon and it was beautiful, just a shame I was still so full from the night before and couldn’t eat it all, but wouldn’t have missed it.
I also received a personalised birthday card from Raymond himself on my table which was just such a lovely touch.
For a very special occasion and a very special memory, I cannot recommend enough and it was well worth every single penny.
When booking out you are given a lovely bag with bottled water and biscuits for your journey ahead, so special.
Thank you so, so much to all of you. Will always cherish this memory.

From the moment you arrive (and are met by the very polite gentleman patrolling the car park who magically makes your luggage disappear and reappear in your room) everything is done to a very high standard. Every single member of staff appears to know who you are and everyone is very polite and professional.
Champagne upon arrival, drinks in the garden, a wander around the “kitchen” garden where a lot of what we would eat is grown and then it’s time to finally be shown to our room to get ready for dinner.
Pre dinner drinks (again in the garden) with the staff going out of their way to correctly source a cocktail which a friend could not remember the name of but had enjoyed on a previous visit and then it was time for dinner. I often judge the food based on my wife’s reactions (she’s veggie and lactose intolerant) and it’s very, very rare for her to rave about every single course she is served. She raved about everything this time (and the non-veggie options were excellent as well).
I didn’t look at the wine list but our winey friend did and his discussions with the sommelier(s) showed that they definitely know their subject.
Breakfast was again superb with a selection of lactose free pastries prepared for my wife (which she again raved about).
I guess it’s fair to say that you get what you pay for, the bill on checkout was sizeable (but expected) and, because everything was so good, we actually left thinking it was good value for money. I wish we had stayed for a second night.

We booked dinner, bed and breakfast for one night to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday because we knew it would good but it exceeded our expectations. Our room, Kiki garden suite, was simply beautiful. Everything was perfect and the little things just added to the perfection. The decanter of Madeira; the best sugared almonds we’ve ever tasted; the little linen bag to take home the bars of soap – whatever happens to those thousands of bars that get left behind in all of the hotels around the World?
Dinner was very relaxed starting in the lounge where we chose our food and wine whilst enjoying an aperitif and delightful canapés. We chose the seven-course dinner which was an excellent choice. The food was exceptional especial the marinated trout. The variety of breads, all home made, was exceptional. Service was discrete.
Breakfast was also superb. Again, everything was perfect. We chose al a carte, full English for my wife and smoked with scrambled eggs for me. Cooked to perfection. Preserves all home made and delicious. Monsieur Blanc stopped by for a chat which was a nice touch. A charming gentleman.
The grounds are impressive and must look absolutely beautiful other times of the year; our visit was January so not very much to see growing.
A definite promise to come back a little later in the year.

I'm not 100%sure but I think you phone them direct my daughter in law treated me and she phoned to make the booking she booked 6 months in advance hope you get to go as is a beautiful place
Yes, of course. Britain has a whole series of walks over private properties, which they call rambles. There is also a wonderful walk around the garden and grounds of the property and a lovely country village right next door. You can ramble away to your hearts content.
There definitely is a kennel service. We have not used it but heard it is centrally heated and excellent. Hard to believe anything at Le Manoir is less than tops. You could leave dog in the car if it is used to it in suitable weather. The car park is very quiet and private. Believe the dog is allowed in non-formal garden/orchard.
Do you have twin bedded rooms? There are no definite answers to this question previously.
Thank you.
Hi, I'm sure if you contact direct they will advise you. Although I'm sure there would be a twin room.
Neil
