Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful overnight stay at this lovely manor. Kayleigh and her team delivered on every level, nothing was too much trouble. The Bridal suite was amazing, everywhere was clean, inviting and comfortable. Look forward to visiting again in the summer!

I’ve never stayed here before, and found the hotel on google. I received a friendly welcome and it was quick to book in. My room was really nice, comfortable bed and nice shower. I had breakfast in the morning and the food was absolutely delicious. Most importantly the staff were friendly and very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, and will be back.

We have just returned from a lovely night away to celebrate a birthday, we feel relaxed and refreshed, the staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, great to enjoy the swimming pool and sauna, everywhere was spotlessly clean, the continental breakfast which is included with your stay was lovely, everything was lovely and fresh, we will return, thank you.

Beautiful Hotel AMAZING XMAS DECORATIONS Lovely Rooms Clean Good food Staff - I have never experienced such misersble staff. The 4 staff, manager, middle aged lady, young Lad and older gentleman on the bar who was hard of hearing. I did not see 1 smile no conversation or welcome and staff very abrupt. We got the feeling we were an inconvenience. We highered all hotel rooms for a family party and function room for dinner and disco. The disco was terrible. About 5 songs all evening that u could dance to. It was an 18th party. Our room had a broken spot light fitting above my bed that small pieces of plaster board were falling out on to the bed. The standup fan was broken and would not stand up. The Hotel was so hot that every one was complaining. So many people woke up in the morning with bad dry throats from the excessive heat. The main thing for me was how miserable the staff were. The whole party was shocked at the unpleasantness and sour faces. Every other hotel I have ever been to the stafff have always been friendly. May be they just did not like young people. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel due to the staff experience our party had. If the hotel reads this the please sort out yr staff. Its christmas a happy time of the year. If u were short staffed thats not our fault. If u had a bad day thats not our fault. We paid for an experience and the staff is the most important part of that experience.

Amazing romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle. Emma Kayleigh and the team couldn't of done more for me. They carried luggage manned reception served the drinks replenished the coffee in our rooms brought irons and generally flewnround the building. Obviously rushed off their feet managing the building but never stopped smiling and laughing. Food was delightful both afternoon tea and the duck for dinner for delicious. Rooms perhaps need an upgrade but the friendly helpful team more than made up for it and deserve a payrise! Definitely be back

Afternoon tea for birthday treat - Terrible and certainly not “luxurious” as quoted on their marketing info. Was given 1 jam finger sandwich (yes jam !!! Like a 2 year old) 1 cucumber finger sandwich (1 slice cucumber cut into 3) 1 egg mayo finger sandwich with no egg ! And a scraping of tuna finger sandwich. The ‘cakes’ were a shop bought (Costco?) tray bake of plain or chocolate sponge cut into tiny morsels - again like you’d serve at toddlers tea party! The place looks gorgeous dressed for Christmas. The scones were good as were the mini quiche - but didn’t make up for the insulting ‘sandwiches’ and micro tasteless kiddie cakes. Staff were rude and when I queried the jam sandwiches she said “so what do you want?” Embarrassing- can’t they see with their own eyes it’s appalling what they served up. The cake I can overlook, but Surely a decent round of sandwiches with some filling is not a lot to ask? I was going to book for family pre Christmas lunch but now won’t for fear of what would be on (or rather missing) from the plates ! Save your money and time and go to local garden centre instead - at least you’d get a decent sandwich! Note- the manager did take 50% off final bill but it wasn’t about the money - Wanted to make sure they ‘get’ what was wrong ???!!!!

Having booked a night here so we could visit a relative in a nearby hospital, I then read the review on TA and was somewhat anxious! However, I'm not sure whether some reviewers were reviewing the same place. We booked an autumn saver rate, and B&B was the about the same price as a standard Premier Inn room. If one is paying Premier Inn prices, one does not expect luxury, just a functional room. We had a spacious room (King double) with a sofa which was helpful for relaxing once back from evening hospital visiting, and we also spent time reading in the comfy leather chairs in the bar. Everyone on the staff team we met was friendly and helpful, even offering to turn the music down in the bar as we were reading. (No need, we were enjoying the music!) We had the continental breakfast, which was included in our room rate. There was plenty of choice, and we had refills of tea with no fuss or delay. We decided against the cooked breakfast, so can't comment on that. So, if you're considering a night or two here, don't be put off by some of the negative reviews on here. Yes, some of the decor is a little tired, but for what we paid we have no complaints. Thanks to all the team.
