Detailed Reviews
We were driving to Bath, felt hungry so stopped at the George Inn, which is a pub on the way.
The place was empty so ordering food and drinks was relatively easy. Service and grub were fine. Nothing to rave about but a reasonable 1 hour stopover.

It's a pub to visit for traditional pub food and service. The landlady and landlord are really welcoming and friendly. There is also the skittle alley, a cosy pool table and darts room and for those rare summery days there is a beer garden. Plenty of free parking in front if the pub. The letting rooms are warm clean and fresh and convenient for many local attractions.

A traditional pub with traditional standards. Don't expect 5* facilities but you will receive 5* hospitality. The B&B rooms are basic but comfortable with very generous full nglish breakfast. The evening meals of basic pub-grub are well prepared and served hot! The WiFi (free) was excellent in the bar but very weak to non-existant in the room I occupied but as it was furthest from the bar area it may have been stronger in the family room. At the price you won't get better!

Room not clean, poor facilities. You can see no investment has gone into people staying. Does not look like the photos on website. Arrived in run-down bar. One person serving and doing everything on Friday night. Given curt welcome, told to wait til convenient. The advertising making it sound close to Bath centre is false. Economy bread in fridge with nearly empty spread container was the "i cluded breakfast". Sorry would never stay again.

We arrived after our selected time which came as a shock to the owner, they were clearly not ready for us and not particularly friendly. Didn't even ask our names.
The room had not been cleaned, carpet hadn't been hoovered, dirty toilet, sink and shower. We wiped all surfaces ourselves before putting anything down. Stained tea cups. Dirty old chair in the room.
Very weak WiFi even though it is advertised as fast.
Breakfast was a loaf of bread in the fridge, a yoghurt and small of packets of cereal, we did not eat any of it.
Would def not recommend or ever stay here again!

From the moment we walked in we felt like locals in the village pub. Graham was there to meet us at the entrance and to show us to our room. The evening was spent in the bar with a meal. The room was everything we had expected and the stay as a whole was an enjoyable experience and great value. The next time we are in the area, it is a given that we will try and book at the George.

Popped in for a pint as they advertised 'cask marque' on the door. Scruffy, untidy with a tray of left over food on the bar. Nobody in the pub, curtains in part of the pub still drawn at 1 lunch time.'landord' sat watching t.v. told "I only have bottled beer'. Can only guess they are driving the poor pub into the ground say they can get planning permission for a house. Went round the corner to the horse and jockey, place rammed!

The food was excellent and very tasty especially as it was home cooked, and the staff were very obliging nothing was on much trouble - definitely worth a visit. The landlord has a good sense of humour too.

We stopped here on the way home and so glad we did! Super friendly bar maid and a cracking Sunday lunch. So reasonably priced as well. Already recommended it to family and we will definitely stop here again.
