Glad we booked a table during our weekend camping trip, as with CO-VID about, the other pub in the village was shut and this one was super busy. Food was your pub grub choice but the portion sizes for the price were great. Lovely main and desserts. Staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely return and recommend

Passed through the village after a friend’s recommendation. This pub has a nice atmosphere, reasonably priced with a good selection of ales. No problems with the COVID situation as government guidelines are in place. Was hoping to visit the Sun inn, but this establishment remains closed following lockdown.

Overnighted here whilst walking the Dales Way. The barman ,whose name I've forgotten ,was helpful and chatty and provided me with newspaper for my wet boots A comfortable pub with Real Ale , a tasty dinner in the bar that evening. Next morning they kindly arranged for me to have breakfast a bit earlier Dent is a fascinating old ,small town/ village ...didn't have time to explore as I was tired when I arrived and wanted to continue the Dales Way next day

After a long and very wet walk we arrived at 8.05pm for dinner. The website and advertising around the pub clearly states that food orders are taken until 8.30pm. When we asked for menus we were abruptly told that the kitchen was closed! The other pub in the village was closed and there was nowhere else to eat. The member of staff then commented on how wet we were and we explained that we had walked a long way in the rain to get there. This didn't bother them and the kitchen remained closed. Clearly it had literally only just closed because other people were eating a freshly cooked meal! I'm sorry we made the effort to visit as it was a waste of our time! Wasn't made to feel very welcome!

After a very cold and blustery walk up on the surrounding fells, this place served as an oasis of welcoming warmth. It was a February Tuesday lunchtime so the pub wasn’t busy but the welcome I received was brilliant. Excellently kept ales.
