We stayed for I night with friends, we had a garden room situated a few yards from the main house. We had a delightful stay, the rooms were very comfortable, the staff were lovely. The breakfast was extensive from fruit to a menu for a cooked breakfast which was really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff &...

I came with 4 other people to sample your Sunday lunch offering for the first time. Myself and my fellow company know a good thing when we see it so we're very tempted by the menu and between us tried most of the options on the day. The welcome was warm, and the ambience in the conservatory was lovely for...

due to family illness the wedding reception was booked 16 hours before the wedding . The team created an amazingly beautiful reception and wedding breakfast which far exceeded our expectations with such short notice. It was an exceptional effort and if you had a year in advance you would not get better . They all thought of every detail. All I...

I visited today for afternoon tea. As I have a dairy allergy, when visiting other venues,I am not usually given very much choice with the food but I was served a beautiful afternoon tea with lots of lovely dairy free options. They had obviously put a lot of thought into the food and the staff and service were excellent, the...

A delicious selection of sandwiches, beef and horseradish, coronation chicken and cucumber. The most amazing selection of dainty cakes and scones. My husband chose the gentleman's afternoon tea which had scotch eggs and sausage rolls. A fabulous afternoon in a beautiful room. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make this afternoon special.

This was a relatively late booking that happened to be close to our dining venue in Ponteland so most convenient. The facilities comprised a 'stately home' which provided a superb and established venue. Whilst we only enjoyed bed & breakfast the other facilities looked superb and a return in the summer to enjoy the local walks and gardens could be...

on approach i knew I had made a good choice on choosing the Horton as the place to be at to bring in 2107. A member of staff took myself and husband to our room which was located outside of the main building (room 3) It was warm spacious and clean only one small point, there were no coat hangers,...

I took two long-term friends for lunch in the hope that, with it being Christmas, it would be a little more lively and a good quality meal. Sorry to report that it wasn't. Whilst the hotel itself was beautifully decorated, we weren't able to sit in the lounge as it was being prepared for afternoon tea ( at 12.15pm?) And...

I have to give credit where its due and this hotel in our opinion does definitely deserve credit. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Visitors are immediately captivated by the distinctive mix of traditional and contemporary decor on offer at Horton Grange. Real fires, fresh flowers and antique furnishings blend with the conservatory dining room to create a relaxed atmosphere. Sympathetic furnishings compliment the traditional character of both the cosy bar and the light airy restaurant, overlooking the Japanese Garden. The Hotel is located just 15 minutes from the centre of bustling Newcastle and is one of the closest hotels for Newcastle Airport (4 miles).Enjoy the relaxing ambience of the bar with an extensive range of wines. The bar always has a warm, friendly atmosphere which is emphasised by the large open fire place. You will certainly appreciate the modern feel to the room, especially the large 42" plasma screen which hangs above the fireplace often displaying a virtual open log fire - filling the room with a warm and satisfying glow. The large bay windows look over the gardens which are fantastic to view by day or night. The lounge is one of the largest rooms in the hotel and is filled with a plentiful supply of elegant sofas and chairs making it the perfect place to stop and enjoy the quiet of the countryside over a cup of tea or fresh coffee. This room boasts two open fire places, one at either end and soaks up the sunlight from the many surrounding windows and is a particular favourite with the guests who have just finished dining and want somewhere peaceful to chat and relax before bed.The restaurant is a light and airy modern room overlooking the garden. The restaurant is well known for its fine cuisine and excellent menu. Only a visit will allow anyone to truly appreciate the food and drink on offer. Chef, using the very best fresh local produce, presides over an imaginative "modern classic" menu with a range of exciting dishes to suit all tastes.Five of the bedrooms are located in the main house with the other four having been tastefully created in the stables opposite the main entrance to the hotel. All bedrooms are beautifully decorated rooms with classical antique furnishings throughout. Rooms include a colour T.V. and large en-suite bathroom and many overlook the gardens.
