We stayed two nights last weekend in great weather. The hotel is dated and old fashioned as other reviewers have said but that adds to the interest. If you want a gleaming sterile boring box then go elsewhere. Hosts interesting and interested, good breakfast and relaxed inexpensive bar. Location is excellent and we will certainly visit again.

We have stayed here numerous times over the last few years (normally a couple of 2 night breaks a year). Yes it's quite old fashioned but that is its charm to us. Always clean and a warm welcome from the owners. Breakfast is excellent. Dog friendly as well!

This hotel has very little going for it whatsoever. The place smells of either mould or pine disinfectant. The rooms were awful, you name it it had it: stained carpets, dirty toilets, knackered baths, wallpaper peeling off, uneven floors. I didnt dare eat the breakfast after the state of the rest of the place. The one star rating is for...

No wifi, nothing clean, dead insects everywhere, no shower, tv tiny and no reception, cobwebs, hanging wallpaper, mould, untouched by disinfectant, no smiles. The best thing for all parties concerned would be the business folding. At £95 per night, absolutely outrageous. The only accreditation would be the breakfast is fairly decent and it's true that the hotel really does "take...

My friend and I stayed for one night on our walk of the Norfolk coast path. We felt like we had entered a time warp as soon as we stepped inside, the decor has not altered in thirty years. The owner showed us to our twin bedded room which lacked any character. The en suite bathroom had a good shower...

This hotel may have been something lovely many years ago, now it is falling apart, dark dingy place to stay. No restaurant. Rooms very frayed around the edges. The reception is a small table with a notebook. The cleaning lady changes her hat from serving and maybe cooking breakfast to cleaning. At £95 plus it is really a ripoff. The...

For £92 per night I did not expect ..... Curtains stained and torn. Peeling wallpaper. Cobwebs and spider in corner above the bed. The bed, vallance torn and hanging down, the bottom sheet torn. In the bathroom a spider in the bath, the heated towel rail coming away from the wall fixing on one side. Carpet very threadbare with odd...

Had a wonderful time. Pleasant company and frienfly hosts. If you are looking for high class, this isnt for you, but if you want peace and quiet and a pint at the end of your day, this is it. There is A pub just a stones throw away called the ship. Great meals, but advisable to book, as gets very...

My wife and I stayed at the Maltings Hotel for two nights in May. Although the owners acknowledge that the property is in need of refurbishment we enjoyed our stay. The bedroom was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was cooked to order. We were under no pressure to vacate the dining room by a certain...

I can't believe the hotel has not changed in 35 years. On Mother's Day, there was no food available - restaurant closed, and not one person in the hotel bar, until we arrived. I was curious to see the place again after so long, but it is like walking into a time warp. Apart from a very worn carpet in...
