Just had 2 nights at the pig shed motel with our 3 sons. The accommodation is great, really big rooms we had a twin & family room. Very comfortable beds and cosy underfloor heating! There are fridges in the rooms so you can take milk snacks etc. There is various teas and coffee machine!
The george & dragon pub just in front of the motel is a really lovely country pub with open fires 🔥 and reasonable food and drinks also kids menu. There is a spa local shop in castle acre if you need supplies.
The location is near the main road but the motel is hidden around the back which is really quiet, we all slept very well and enjoyed the coast and seaside nearby at Hunstanton, Heacham and Wells. The staff at the pub were all very friendly. We would definitely return for another stay! Thank you Lena

I write this whilst actually laying in bed at The Pig Shed and I am so impressed. We arrived and check in was so easy via access through an app on my phone.

Parking was no problem. Our room was lovely, spacious and very clean. The fan was much appreciated, love sleeping with a fan! The complimentary tea, coffee was a nice touch, especially with the peppermint/camomile tea..

We had a bath this eve and the temp was perfect! The room came with shampoo/body wash; hand wash and body lotion.

We have brekkie ordered from the pub next door which is being delivered to our room at 8.30 tomorrow for £14!

We have our little dog with us and went for a stroll into Castle Acre village this afternoon and it was lovely. Location is good. Went for dinner at a pub in Swaffham and off to the coast tomorrow.

For a last minute book I couldn’t have asked for more. Price for the value we have received is great.

Stayed here for one night as we were visiting the local area. Always find it hard to get a modern place that's not extortionate but that does accept dogs - so this felt a real win.

Rooms are generous in size with a large and very comfortable bed. Location is very quiet so we slept soundly. Everything also felt really clean, which we were especially pleased with given the last 18 months!

Pub attached serves great food and everyone we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. You get an allocated parking space too, which is fab.

Tip: if you book through an intermediary like we did (booking.com / hotels.com) watch out, as the additional fee for bringing a dog is not mentioned, but is charged on your bill.

The ONLY reason I have rated this place a 4 instead of a 5 is the breakfast situation. They very clearly state that they don't serve breakfast, and do offer a £10 set menu from a local supplier (sadly not suitable for us) but given the quiet location we did find it extremely hard to find somewhere to eat the next morning (so few places were open). Genuinely though, this wouldn't deter us - we would just plan better should we come again!

A.newly built eco motel with about 12 rooms. Each unit is huge with a well.appointed bathroom, double king size bed, tea and coffee maker, tiled floor with underfloor heating. Very dog friendly. Would have given it 5 stars if it had had 2 chairs in the room rather than one and the sound proofing was a bit better. Linked with the pub on the same site for meals. Very quiet location despite being just off the A 1065. Great dog walking at Castle Acre only a.mile away.

Nor five star accommodation by any other name.

We spent two night's here while on business nearby. Easy check-in. Easy parking. Easy access. Huge comfortable super king size bed. Super hot water. Fridge! Lots of towels, complimentary tea/coffe/nespresso and a quiet night's sleep tanks to the fresh air outside and the cooling fan. Pets can stay too at £10 per tail per night.

Under-floor heating means the tiled floor is not cold at all. So much so we had to ask for the temperature to be dropped for the second night.

Now if you are looking for breakfast, don't as it's not included. Just make sure you have all you need before you settle down for the night.

Stayed for 1 night in April. lovely clean good sized room with a great ensuite, good size TV with parking outside the room. Checked in early, easy to find , country pub next door owned by the same people Nice selection of teas. Mini fridge so Why for booked rooms do you not put real milk in the fridge rather than those awful mini pots of UHT rubbish. what's the cost...80p for a pint on a room you sold me for £100. Come on its 2022. For rooms sold on the day the pots are fine but you know the booked rooms are coming and have paid in advance anyway. Apart from that gripe a good stay and would return...thank you

Can’t fault this accommodation, check in process worked really well through an app, was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was and bathroom for me, my partner and our Labrador.

Facilities were great, there was a fan, fridge, water, tea and a coffee machine, has various bathroom items (shampoo etc) included if needed. Large bed was really comfy and big TV which was great for us to relax after a long day watching the planes at Lakenheath.

Pub on site was lovely staff were friendly we got a couple of drinks and cutlery from here. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, towels provided. Would highly recommend especially for pet owners.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. Motel is lovely and has everything you need! Bathroom is huge and has everything bar conditioner. Has a fridge in the cupboard which is a great size! We had our dog with us. 2 things I didn’t like otherwise would of been 5 stars is one the walls are paper thin! We had 3 separate people next door in room 9, 2 couples had a child and you could hear everything! Not really a problem for us as we had our dog (who was no problem) and was awake early. And then the designated dog area which is in front of the car park was quite overgrown! Lots of prickly weeds that really just needs to be mowed and kept lower as didn’t like the dog walking on them! And there was lots!
We loved our stay and even tried to stay an extra night but was fully booked! The on site pub was fantastic! We used it for drinks and dinner the 3 nights as was very handy and very delicious...
Highly recommend 😁

Before I begin it's well worth mentioning that I am notoriously difficult to please! Equally I very rarely leave reviews, however I simply couldn't stay here and not share my experience.
We stayed for 3 night at the end of June, unfortunately we were unable to use the app due to a broken phone screen so I called ahead and arranged for a key card to be left at the neighbouring pub, the staff there are lovely and couldn't of been more helpful or kind.
The room itself is truly unique and has the most charming, clever and superbly useful furniture.
The room wasn't serviced during our stay and I actually quite liked that, there were plenty of provisions on arrival for us and we did meet the lady that was cleaning other rooms, she ensured we had everything we needed and informed us that she would be there in the mornings so if we needed anything we were just to let her know, she was lovely!
The room was spotless, and trust me I went out of my way to find even a tiny amount of dust, I couldn't!!! By far the cleanest place I have ever stayed.

So I can promise anyone looking for somewhere to stay in this area, book here, you will not be disappointed .

Thank you very much for a thoroughly enjoyable stay, we will definately be back next year.

We stayed at this accommodation after cycling the Peddars Way from Thornham (Castle Acre is our halfway point), and it is brilliant. The price per night is very reasonable for what you get. For a family room you get one double bed, and a single (which is VERY small), a coffee machine, a kettle, a fridge and a bathroom. Everything in the room is clean and tidy, you can tell they clean it well. The only thing they can do that would make it pitch perfect is allow the heating to be changed at ease as we felt the room was slightly on the cold side, and currently the only way to change the heating is that you have to request for it to be changed at the pub which is a bit of a nuisance. Overall a great one night stay, we will definitely be back if we ever cycle the Peddars Way again!
