The reviews are true. It's a bit grotty , needs a good scrub and you can clearly hear the people in the next room. Just needs a bit of tec as its in a fantastic location and e customer service needs to be stepped up a little

The Sandgate Hotel did the job. My lovely little lady friend and I stayed here about a month or so ago now for a bit of a jolly and Begby just wants to say thank you because we had ourselves a wondrous jolly. Oh we did. 😊 You will have already seen my reviews of the local Sandgate nightlife or...

The hotels facade is rather tired, but a pleasant professional welcome by the resceptist was reassuring. We stayed in room 4 with sea view and balcony. It is noisier than the back rooms as it is on a quite busy road. There was an issue with the balcony door not being securable due to what looked like a past break...

I stayed here with 3 friends and we were given the adjoining rooms on the third floor. Although the bar and food were lovely, I was shocked at how shabby the rooms were. Dark & scruffy. No bedside lights, no glasses in the bathroom. Still we thought we would make the best of it. That was until we went to...

Just had a night in this dog friendly hotel . The room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the people in the next room who arrived late and left early did not much care for other people wanting to sleep. The breakfast was nice and offered the usual choices, The location is right at the...

The staff and hotel is really foggy friendly. It's on the beach we were there during an amazing storm just before Christmas. Gave me back up heating nice bowls for dog and although they are ready for a renovation which is happening in March with fabulous staff frankly I'd come back often. Nothing is perfect but friendly helpful staff made...

First of all there is no reception area, you have to go to the bar and wait until it's your turn. The room was disgusting, cold, and dirty. The doors on the balcony wouldn't close. Stains on the bedding, sticky carpet, and the worst of all the bathroom. Just awful, I couldn't wait to go back home.

The hotel was situated right on the sea front so lovely, in a quaint village atmosphere. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the room was large and spacious, great value for money and much better than most of the chain type hotels. There was a nice balcony too and could sit on even at this time of year. Parking is...

I've stayed at the Sandgate Hotel twice before. I'm not sure whats happening but the owners seem to leave the hotel to Rack and Ruin. The room we stayed in was falling apart. Bed although cosy was not that secure. Bolts and screws needed tightening up. The TV a little bigger that an A4 sheet of paper. Bathroom shower holder...
