A casual stop on the road for a couple in need of food. It was early on a Friday lunchtime and I think that we were the only customers. We were shown into the cellar bar, ordered sandwiches and beer then relaxed. The sandwiches came with a small bucket of chips. I thought that my meal could have been larger,...

We dropped into the Falcon for lunch one Saturday recently. There were a few cars in the car park, but only one other party in the restaurant. The menu read very well but the meal was awful. My wife found the "locally reared sausages" and mashed potatoes totally inedible. The mashed potatoes looked and tasty like mouldy wallpaper paste. My...

The hotel was exactly what I expected, a cosy country hotel with charm. Staff were very good. Food was not good. I had eaten there many years ago and the quality was below par. This said, we were the only residents that night (out of the way place and a weekday night) and we were only booked for one night....

After arranging to meet family members we all decided The Falcon would be a good halfway point for all of our party. We had all travelled approx 2.5 hours to get there. We had booked a table for 1pm and all arranged to meet up at 12pm so that we could have a chat and pre lunch drinks beforehand. When...

Our experience of The Falcon is mirrored by the review made by Gooters. We met here for a pre Christmas family lunch on a Sunday. The venue was chosen as an equidistant point between all te attendees. From reading the reviews it looked good and our expectations were high. However when we arrived we rang the bell on reception and no...

My wife and I have stayed at the Falcon hotel twice now. Although the hotel has changed hands some years back it has not lost any of its charm in fact in my opinion it has improved. Staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and standard of cleanliness could not be faultered. One word of...

Where do I begin? Looking at the reviews here you would think this was a top notch restaurant. The hotel is in a lovely village and the actual building IS lovely...however...this is where the truth unfolds folks. We walked in (four of us adult) for a dinner that was booked a couple of weeks in advance....important to know that because...

having just come from one of the other old english pubs / inns further up the country and found it to be lacking in many ways, I was kind of dreading what this place would be like. Just to echo what my mum (Shelagh H) said....I highly recommend The Falcon. We've had some brilliant dinners here before and now we can add our wonderful wedding to the list too.
