Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well I now know which hotel the TV programme Fawlty Towers was based on ! Staff , even those who tried to be helpful didn’t know what they were doing …had to refer to a manager about everything yet when I asked to speak to one there wasn’t one available until Monday morning , this also applied to maintenance , however we checked out on the Sunday On arrival there was a mix up with room numbers . I am partially disabled and our room was a long way from the main part of the hotel even for an able bodied person . Our room was basic but expected this as we had our dog with us . The heating didn’t work so we were given a portable heater which had scorch marks on it and sparked when I switched it off and no PAT testing sticker ( I know it’s not legally required but is good practice ) I have a medical condition requiring use of a sleep machine but no sockets beside the bed so asked for an extension cord which trailed accross the room and again no sign of PAT test . The TV did have a PAT test sticker dated 2017 and the plug dated 2019. The extractor fan in the toilet didn’t work so it was like a steam room and as the towel heater didn’t work our towels didn’t dry . There was also a huge cobweb hanging from the ceiling Fire doors were either blocked or left open …the one nearest our room was left wide open all night , never mind the temperature was -1 it was also a security issue . The majority of radiators in the corridors weren’t working either. They did offer to move us to another room at 2pm on the day before we left but it was no better and as we were heading out until the early hours it seemed pointless to spend leisure time packing up only to unpack again for a few hours . When I asked to speak to a manager they conveniently seemed to be unavailable until Monday ( after we’d left) so I asked that one called me by 11am on Monday morning . I was told I should ring them so I chose to contact the local H&S executive instead as this place really needs an inspection . Our friends were also staying but in a suite as their grown up daughter was with them , however the springs in her bed had sprung through the mattress so she ended up sharing with her parents !!! On the plus side the food was very nice and the lady serving at breakfast was a delight even though on our first morning she had no other help at all and was working a 12 hour shift . She kept apologising but it was a management failure not hers . This place has the potential to be really nice but needs money spending on it which I guess will take a while if they don’t SHUT THE DOORS TO KEEP THE HEAT IN!!!

Avoid this hotel, staff are not helpful and very blunt. The rooms are run down, shower leaked on bathroom floor, tv just balanced on sideboard. Strange smell in hotel and room. Could not wait to leave, never bothered to go to breakfast but they still charged me for it. Zero customer service :😡👎

Visited the hotel for a family function. On first impression I thought this looks very rundown, the carpet was dirty the room was tired and very dated and the curtains were all marked. The toilet roll holder was absolutely filthy. Looked out the window in the morning and was shocked at the state of the building, peeling paint and scruffy is an understatement. Decided not to shower and have breakfast headed out of there ASAP…

Having stayed here around a year ago, I booked again for a one night business trip. Really shocked at the change. The hotel smelt of damp throughout. On arrival despite two people on reception, was left waiting with no greeting. Asked for name and given room key with no instruction for breakfast or room directions. The room was OK. Bit dirty in places (the TV remote was filthy) the bed was hard but ok. The bar was basically unmanned and reception staff rude when asked if the bar was open. Bar meal was not good. But the breakfast was quite nice. The morning receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. Not a 4 star hotel by any stretch. Does have the potential but certainly won't book again.

Stayed for two nights. Staff friendly, breakfast was tasty and the hot food choice was ok, room was clean and comfortable and cleaned daily. The only thing letting it down was the Wi-Fi which is not high speed and intermittent.

My husband and I stayed at Aubrey Park Hotel for two nights while visiting family. I don’t know how and why this hotel has a 4 star rating because in my opinion a 2 star rating would very generous. Where do I start, the carpets were filthy, the bed uneven, views from the room was what I can only describe as ran down Council estate. Good luck try to find your room through the grubby long winded corridors a That look like a maize! Breakfast was awful, with suggy hash browns.

The 2 lady receptionist(s) were helpful to a degree..but this hotel has the most awful quirkiness with room numbers displayed at every corner I turned. For future guests I defy you to find my room 0150 in under ten minutes...yes... as bad as that. and no help from anyone I had heavy luggage. At 78 did I really needs this? ..the various hall ways had bad staining on the carpets...My room was small and the bedroom curtains fraying badly. The breakfast buffet was a sad display..needs some attention from staff...and the bed was as hard as nails..NO mobile fone signal and their w fi didn't work..either. I couldn't wait to leave and head home to Lincolnshire. I doubt I will ever stay there again.

Superb staff. Excellent breakfast. Cosy and a quiet room. We were delayed and diverted due to the Luton airport issue , night gentleman was superb , friendly and helpful, cannot thank him enough. Top top bloke. The reception staff when we left were equally as sincere

Pros - Convenient location, 20 min drive to Warner brother studios & proximity to motorway Cons - Family rooms located right above a party hall. Can get extremely noisy up until midnight - we sought support from reception but wasn’t very helpful (the message to the effect was - yes it will Be noisy, I can’t help you, deal with it) - Very average breakfast
