We had originally booked a different spa in April, but it got cancelled due to the current situation with covid, we had to pay a extra 50 pre person to go to this spa, which I dont think it was worth to be honest.
The place is very big with lots of different twists and turns, lots of stairs, not sure if I actually saw any lifts?
We arrived and got checked it straight away the room was pleasant, spacious and clean. Beds were comfy, it did feel a little cold though. We had afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast included in our over night spa package. The afternoon tea was standard and enough to go round. The staff were polite and attentive and made us feel welcome.
We then got changed in the room ready for our spa experience, which you can also use the changing rooms in the spa facilities too. Temperature check on the way in, track and track and hand sanitizer too, which was expected in the current climate. The spa was nice, with steam, suna and salt rooms, jacuzzis, experience showers, foot spas and a hydrotherapy pool. There were a few loungers, but not enough for all, It was quite small and in normal circumstances I can imagine it to get quite busy. We had a treatment included within the package, which was very nice and the ladies were extremely professional. It didn't feel like we got a lot of time in the spa and the relaxation room was separated from the spa area. Felt good to unwind and relax!! The evening meal was of a high standard, with a lot of choice , drinks were very expensive though.
The Ringwood Hall is nice, but once you've been, I personally don't think its somewhere you would go more than once.

The hotel caters for weddings, which I think they must do a lot of.

We stayed for 4 nights & had a lovely stay . We felt very safe , when you book in & every time that you go to reception you have your temperature checked which is very easy , it is just a matter of standing in front of a machine until it pips and tells you your temperature & sanitise your hands . We were upgraded to a suite which was just off of the main hotel building & was great , it was very large & comfortable with a dining table & chairs & a fridge & tea / coffee making facilities and 2 sofas which I think were sofa beds & a coffee table in the lounge , a large bedroom with plenty of storage space a large comfy bed , a heater & a fan were in the wardrobe if you needed them as well as controllable central heating & a large bathroom with a very powerful shower ( unfortunately it was only a single shower unit ) and a large bath .
The staff were all really friendly & helpful & cheery .
We had booked evening meal each night so as we didn't have to worry about booking somewhere else to eat , the food on an evening and at breakfast was good , it was a bit strange that the staff had to serve you from the cereal & fruit juice buffet but it is understandable & it's always lovely to have a fresh cooked breakfast with good quality ingredients .
Special thanks to John in the restaurant for giving us great info on where to take our bikes for a good bike ride .
The hotel is in lovely grounds & only about 30 mins drive to Chatsworth house which is well worth a visit , we only went to the gardens at Chatsworth but they are amazing with something to see round every corner.
We would definitely stay again if we were in the area & would recommend it to friends

We booked a couples spa experience at Ringwood Hall for my wife’s birthday and we were not disappointed.
Upon our arrival we were met with first rate facilities, professional staff and a relaxing atmosphere.
We checked in with the spa reception and then spent an hour or so enjoying the pool and the various steam rooms and sauna experiences before grabbing our robes and heading to the brasserie.
Afternoon tea was nicely presented and consisted of a good selection of sandwiches and cakes - we ordered the peppermint loose leaf tea to drink which was incredible.
After a relaxed meal we headed upstairs for our couples spa treatments in the couples suite which has 2 side by side treatment tables and 2 side by side mosaic baths and it’s own sauna. Our treatment consisted of approx 45mins of full body oil and crystal exfoliation, a 15min soak in the salt baths (which smelt amazing) followed by another approx 50mins of full body massage, finishing with Indian head massage.
Feeling fully revitalised and refreshed we were then served prosecco and canapés and left to relax in the suite for an hour or so.
Overall a lovely relaxing experience in a modern and well presented spa setting - staff were professional and attentive throughout our day.
Ringwood Hall Secret Garden Spa really is something special and in our opinion offers value for money treatment and experiences

Stayed a couple of nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Upon checking in the receptionist showed us to our room which on initial impressions seemed ok. She told us the room was really quiet. Don't know if she was having a laugh, or tone deaf but it was directly above the Coach House beer garden and the noise of other guests enjoying a drink outside due to the warm weather at midnight was not what we expected. Management were made aware of our complaint and it was dealt with quickly. However, there was no information in the room or on the telephone to explain how to contact reception. For a 4 star hotel however, it's in need of some serious tlc. It seems the hotel is more geared up for weddings as the grounds are beautiful but we couldn't find a guest lounge to sit in. If you wanted a drink you had to go to the Coach House as the bar in the main part of the building was closed. The chefs do seem to work hard and although the menu isn't vast, the food was well prepared, well presented and very tasty. The building is old and must take a fortune to run but it didn't give us a lot of confidence when we saw how one waitress cleaned a dining table after one guest left after finishing his dinner. The table had been set for 2 people, she cleared the dirty tableware after the gentleman had left, then, rather than removing everything from the table, she sprayed her bottle of cleaning fluid over the empty half of the table and wiped it down. Once wiped, she then set the empty half of the table again. Given we are still in the midst of a pandemic would it not have been advisable to clear the whole table and replace with a full set of newly washed tableware. Not even the salt and pepper pots were wiped down!
We find it very hard to believe that the hotel gives every room a deep clean after witnessing events in the dining room.

My family had a day out sight seeing and hiking around Chesterfield, we finished the day off by going for a delicious family meal at Ringwood Hall Hotel We sat outside in the patio area amongst the beautifully kept gardens the sun was shining and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive at all times, the staff were continually cleaning tables seats etc which was quite re-assuring. The food arrived on time and we all enjoyed our meals even my daughter who is quite picky with her food, it was lovely to sit & enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We have visited quite a few spa hotels over the last 10 years and must point out the professionalism of the staff here at Ringwood . The spa is very clean and well compact with a tasteful centre pool with lots of water therapy jets around it . The Sauna and steam rooms are well kept and tastefully designed with 2 experience showers around the pool side . We had a very nice coffee served up in the very relaxing lounge/dining area .
I had a Euphoric balance back massage which was painful but an effective experience by a lady called Jen who worked and clicked my back into shape .
A great experience that I would highly recommend .

We came for dinner Sunday evening for the first time when the Coach House Restaurant opened. Me and my partner both had 3 courses and thoroughly enjoyed everything. All plates and food were piping hot when the food arrived and all food was tasty and filling. All staff on shift were attentive and made us feel safe as they had all previously completed Covid-19 training. Debbie was our main server and made us feel welcome, also her knowledge on the history of the building was fantastic. We asked for details on dishes on the menu including what part of the cow the steak came from and she was able to give us information on everything on the menu we asked about.

I booked via booking.com and was impressed with the pre-arrival info they sent so that you knew what to expect (for example checking your temperature before allowing you to check in).

The lady on reception when we arrived was lovely. She also made a fuss of our dog (they have a small number of rooms in the annexe where you can stay with your pet)

The room itself was smaller than I’d been expecting as I’d been given a free upgrade on booking.com due to my usage but I guess this was negated by the hotel once they knew about the dog. That said it was scrupulously clean. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. The bathroom was well appointed and there was plenty of hot water but the shower pressure wasn’t great, although it’s an old building and it still did the job.

We’d booked room only and went for breakfast our first morning. It wasn’t busy with (including us) only four tables taken but seemed a little disjointed; the lady seated us, gave us a form to order from and said she’d be back but as there was only one form and two of us, I was confused as to how she’d know who wanted what. I do appreciate we need to allow extra time at the moment but there only seemed to be one staff on. We waited a good while for our order to be taken but as we had plans for the day we really couldn’t wait any longer so we had to leave which was a shame. I know room
service was an option but at an additional £5 we didn’t bother with breakfast any of our other mornings there.

The grounds are very nice and we found a good spot to chill with a bottle of wine one evening after one of our long walks in the Peak District.

All the staff we encountered were friendly and it felt very Covid safe.

I chose the hotel for its location and it was perfect to get to the places we wanted to visit on our holiday and I certainly stay again.

My partner had bought me a day at the Secret Spa together with an overnight stay in the hotel.
It is situated about 5/10 minutes drive from the centre of Chesterfield with a large car park.
The spa was excellent, very clean, plenty of space available to relax & we enjoyed a very tasty lunch in the Glass House Brasserie. The spa treatments I had were fabulous (thank you Gemma!) but not expensive. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
As other reviewers have stated, the hotel rooms could do with a refurb, that said our room was clean, the bed very comfortable & the bathroom had good quality towels & bath products. We didnt dine in the restaurant but had a snack in the bar, (chips were excellent!) although this area would have benefited from more comfortable seating rather than just tables & chairs.
Breakfast served buffet style, plenty of choice to suit most tastes served by friendly staff.
Would recommend Ringwood Hall more for the spa than the hotel but would certainly return given the chance.

We have just got back from s wonderful stay at the Ringwood Hotel & Spa. I booked an overnight stay as a birthday treat for my wife’s 70th birthday. The whole experience was wonderful from the friendly greeting at the reception where Covid-19 checks were done with temperature and full washing of hands required before booking in.
Our room on the first floor was spotlessly clean and my wife was pleased to find a birthday card from all the staff. We went done for pre booked afternoon tea and was greeted to a wonderful display of sandwiches, cakes and scones with fresh cream and jam. After this we had a delightful walk around the beautiful grounds before my wife went over to the spa for some relaxing treatments. I had read some conflicting reviews regarding the food in the restaurant but we can only praise the service and the quality of the food. We had different starters and both had on the recommendation of the chef the steak which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. This meal with wine and cocktails proved to be the highlight of my wife’s birthday treat. After a good nights sleep we had a Hearty breakfast before leaving.
