At the Dibbinsdale Inn the only thing we’re economical with is the price. There are endless reasons for staying the night. Ample sightseeing opportunities - miles of coast and countryside – golf courses galore (with Bromborough golf club just a 5-10 minute walk away and Hoylake, home to the 2014 British Open Golf Championship, within a 30 minute drive away). And we’re very well connected here on The Wirral – close to the region’s road and rail links, so getting to major cities such as Liverpool and Chester couldn’t be easier. You really couldn’t be better placed for a great night’s sleep.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I arrived on a Thurs afternoon and stayed for 3 nights in a double room. The staff were very welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The room was a very decent size, I had 2 wardrobes and plenty of drawers for storage. The bed was also very comfortable . The bath had a shower situated over it which was lovely and hot and easy to regulate. There were 2 hand rails for stability which was reassuring.

Breakfast was very good. The hotel booking included the cost of the breakfast and it was cooked to order with very generous servings which really set you up for the day.

The only downfall was that I was served by different staff each morning, on the first day the coffee was lovely and frothy .. The next 2 mornings the coffee seemed bog standard and not very nice really.

There was scaffolding up at the hotel & my room was in the front... Floodlights were on all night until about 7am in the morning ... So I had to make sure that the blinds were closed tight.

There is no lift & a full flight of stairs to climb to get to the double rooms which may not be everyones cup of tea.

It was a lovely stay and I would consider returning to the hotel again in the future.

I visited Pesto with my fiancé and friends on July 4th. A little apprehensive at first given it was our first meal out since lockdown. I was really impressed with how professional the set up was (Re social distancing/ COVID), how polite staff were and the quality of the food. Can thoroughly recommend.

Myself and family stayed here before attending a funeral nearby.
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
The evening meal was great - they paid us special attention and made sure all the generations of our family were happy.
Breakfast was great too!
Overall we felt looked after at a difficult time.

We had a lovely visit to Pesto at The Dibbinsdale Inn tonight. Our server, Poppy, was very friendly and efficient and the food was amazing as usual. We even managed desserts for a change - they were just too tempting. It was a lovely way to celebrate the 81st birthday of one of our party. Poppy even volunteered to take photos of our family group for the birthday boy (her first experience of using an actual camera!) Thank you Poppy.

First visit here since my parents took my younger brother I for dinner when we were little kids in the 70s! My room was perfectly comfortable and I had a very good sleep as the bed was excellent. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty and the staff were friendlky and helpful throughout my stay.

This was our first meal out following 4.5 months of lockdown and have to be honest we were a bit nervous. Absolutely no need to be, the COVID procedures put in place by the establishment were excellent and made us feel very comfortable. The food as we have experienced on many occasions in the past was also excellent. Thank you.

I regularly visit with friends and can never fault the service and food quality. Visited today with my husband for a half term treat. Food quality, service and atmosphere were faultless as usual. Josh was on hand with any questions we had and always kept an eye out for whether or not we needed anything. I can highly recommend the brushetta funghi and calamari which we really enjoyed.

I can see many reviews for the restaurant but could anyone tell me if the hotel rooms as are good?

Hotel rooms are fairly small but really nicely appointed. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay there again and it's in a fantastic location to walk to the train station to get into Liverpool, or jump off at Port Sunlight for a look round.

Do you show Sky sports
Answer from Rick G

Hi If you are coming from Ireland, you presumably mean Sky Sports on the bedroom TVs rather than the Pub or Restaurant. There are certainly none in the latter. I'm sorry I wasn't in the bedroom long enough to check all the TV channels. It's certainly a good place to stay and/or eat.
