We had a truly lovely 2 night stay at this character filled and charming hotel. The building itself is a statement piece upon approach and just gets better and better the more you explore it inside. Such a joy to see the operators and staff embrace the buildings appeal rather than fight against it. Each hotel room offers its own story from what I saw and dining among such history is quite beautifully unique these days. Food was lovely, especially the breakfasts with views to die for through the grand windows. The deluxe plus we were in was just so comfortable and inviting with lovely little touches by people that know what they are doing. The best part of all though......? The staff. They seem to have a fairly small team by design - but boy are they dedicated. From first phone call to book (with helpful advice) all the way through.... not one detail was left wanting. Brilliant execution of their offering for a target market they clearly understand. Sam, Ellie, Stuart & Leanne (?) were standouts but all the team were superb. Thanks so much for such a special stay. We hope Mothers day went as smoothly as it could for you all. Tom & Maja.

The Mediterranean vegetable tart was dry, the watercress was limp and the shallots were also dry The tart had clearly been reheated in a microwave, with the "salad" just out of the fridge Being poorly presented on the plate, the waitress did not bring the salt or pepper to the table I had to ask for a glass of water, normally you would expect water to be presented to the table The Chardonnay served was very overpriced per glass I would not recommend the lunchtime menu to other visitors

Helpful and friendly staff. Especially Stewart. Comfortable room and beds and a good breakfast. A lovely bar and lots of snug places to go and sit and enjoy the views. Lovely to be able to walk down to the seafront direct from the hotel. Overall a smashing time and will definitely be back.

We have been to this hotel a lot of times over three years and seen it change along the way. Rooms remain good - the family room works well. The food service has become a bit erratic of late but the food is good when it does come and the surroundings remain lovely

We very much enjoyed our two night stay at the Beach House, a hotel oozing with character. Our superior double room was beautifully appointed with nice decorative touches and the best smelling toiletries I’ve ever come across in a hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order, and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. Would love to return when the weather is nicer and take advantage of the fantastic garden and sea views.

We have been to The Beach House many times and have always highly rated their food and service. We had breakfast there this morning and weren’t disappointed, a tasty full English served in the room off of the bar area, seated by the open fire. Although we are not dog owners, we like dogs and have no objection to people bringing them into public places but we were irritated by a couple with two dogs who allowed them to bark, spoiling the peaceful atmosphere, throughout the duration of our visit. The dogs seemed harmless and didn’t pose any threat, but one was very loud and ‘yappy’ their owners didn’t appear to be concerned about the disturbance they were causing. There were lots of dogs there this morning and have no doubt, The Beach House wants to be a dog-friendly place but unfortunately too much for us, especially as the breakfast wasn’t cheap. I don’t think we’ll be back.

The Beach House was our choice for a special birthday dinner whilst staying in the area. It was dog friendly and had good reviews and a varied menu. We were greeted and shown to a table in a cosy, attractive wood panelled room and were given menus. After a while when nobody came to take our drink or food order we went to the bar and realised you have to order there. It would have been helpful to have been told this when we were given the menus. Our starter to share and then our mains were brought out and were nicely presented and very tasty. We waited for quite a while after finishing for someone to come and clear the plates and offer a dessert menu. This didn’t happen and so eventually we asked for dessert menus at the bar and went there to order. When our desserts were brought to the table the waitress said she didn’t realise our plates hadn’t been cleared away and so took them away then. The desserts were lovely and rounded off a nice meal. The place itself and the food are very good and would have received five stars. The service could be more consistent and efficient. We probably wouldn’t visit again as we didn’t particularly feel valued as a customer due to this lack of service and what should have been a special evening wasn’t.

The hotel is a wonderful building with lots of character. Previously we stayed in the main hotel with is wonderful. This time the hotel was full but were offered a room in the annex. We were a little apprehensive not being in the main hotel. We need not have been. For us it was lovely. We have a large bedroom, a very large bathroom with a walk in shower and a lounge room with sofa and tea making facilities. There was a good selection for breakfast which is served in the main hotel dining room. We also had an evening meal in the dining room of the hotel which was also very good. The menu had a good selection although the sea bass was not available with was a shame but there was other fish on the menu. The meals were also good value for money. Another very important positive factor for us is dogs are not allowed in the dining room. There was one time when there were too many dogs in the lounge area but we could take our drink to our room as we did have the space to do so.

Visited the Beach House today and was greeted by a very hospitable member of staff (wish I’d taken his name). He could not have been more helpful and cheerful. We enjoyed a delicious meal in wonderful surroundings - The Beach House is a beautiful Victorian property with lots of period features and sea views . The service was very attentive too. We shall definitely return when we next visit Milford.
