Enjoyable place for Sunday lunch. Plenty of parking, good choice off the menu, nice bar staff, fresh decor, v. pleased with the meal and would recommend. Choice of full dishes or light bites, tempting home baking too, baked potatoes, seafood, steaks and other options plus gluten free choices highlighted and vegetarian dishes too. Decent range of beers and spirits at... More

Dropped in late morning in company for coffee which was very expensive for which could only be described as average we also had kids with us that ordered kids ice cream at £6 for three small scoops, had we not been in company we would have sent this back as it was grossly overpriced, not sure if we would return

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that you felt your coffee experience was average and expensive however we offer a high blend coffee bean which is ground freshly for each coffee produced, and indeed is cheaper than some of the other nearby local coffee houses. Our ice cream is a hand- made Scottish variety made with fresh cream,... More

For the avoidance of doubt this review relates to The Kirkhouse Inn, Glasgow Road G63 9AA. This is the fourth time I have submitted this review as TripAdvisor keep contacting me to say I am reviewing the wrong place! I definitely am reviewing the correct place! I went to have dinner last Thursday (03/11/2016) as the other pub in village... More

Whilst we take all our reviews seriously this one we can only hope the author has had some sort of satisfaction in writing the malicious untruths penned to our site. It is quite within the law for any establishment to open and close their restaurant as the business requires and on a quite evening it is in no way wrong... More

This hotel has been refurbished recently and is looking very smart with a new purple tartan carpet and chairs to match. There is also a new menu which was perfect for lunch. My husband had the seafood chowder which came with crusty brown bread. I had roast parsnip soup and a cheese and ham sandwich which I shared with my... More

Good: The room was large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom large, modern and well appointed. But those are qualifiers to be in the hotel game at all, not really differentiators. Average: Breakfast of reconstituted scrambled eggs. How hard would it be to get fresh eggs, really? Cereals in a box, jam in single serve packs. You know the drill.... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, we are glad you found the accommodation to be well presented however, the remainder of your comments we find frankly odd. How a small 15 bedroom village Inn can be compared with your apparent knowledge of far superior worldwide hotels is bewildering. Perhaps if the staff had been made aware... More

Room. This was a standard one. It would have earned a "good" had it not been for (1) the extension lead serving a bedside table lamp (2) the very long TV aerial lead snaking its' way across the room, in front of the radiator, behind a chair and over the front of a mirror! Bathroom excellent. Food. Breakfasts weren't very... More

This was 4th time in the Kirkhouse Just renovated. The colours they used were lovely. Breakfast and diner was good and the staff is young and helpfull. I hope to come back many times. We went to nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. Went shopping in Milngavie It is only 20-30 minuten from Glasgow AirPort.

Having been here quite a number of years ago, it was disappointing to return this evening to find that the meals are not as good as they used to be here! We had pate to start, which was ok ( chutney quite tasteless) but usual problem of one less oatcake at least than the amount of pate required. Mains: my... More

We stayed here through late rooms.com and was booked the same day late in the afternoon due to a mix up with late rooms.com , The receptionist couldn't have more helpful she did her very best to accommodate us as a family. Room was nice ( a little bit too hard beds). No wifi upstairs. They were short on staff so a lot of waiting. The people that did work were nice though. The restaurant did their best to serve me (eat paleo) but as it seems at every restaurant I went to around here, no one had vegetables!
