Detailed Reviews
Small car park at the front of the B&B, which is situated in farmland just off the main road, not far from Wick. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the host. We had an upstairs room which was spacious, clean, warm and had great views towards Keiss Castle. The ensuite was large with shower and heated towel rail. There was a very small TV, tea and coffee station and clothes rail. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were lumpy. It was a very quiet setting and you could only hear the cows at night! Breakfast in the morning was in the small dining room, but all covid restrictions were followed. We had a good cooked breakfast, with cereal and toast was available to all guests to help themselves to. Recommended.

Stayed here with my wife and teenage daughters as we toured the highlands. The owner was very welcoming and the room well furnished. The beds were very comfortable and certainly a higher standard than others during stays on previous days. The views from the room (number 1) were great and the breakfast delicious. Castle View is fantastic value for money and sets a standard few other guest houses can match. Would recommend you choose there if you are visiting the area.

We stayed here on our tour of North Scotland coast.
This lovely gem of a place is situated just a few miles from John o groats & about a mile from the village keiss.
The rooms were clean & welcoming with selections of tea/coffee/biscuits in the room, tv etc, the host was very friendly & helpful & the breakfast was amazing as were the views.
Would highly recommend staying here if you're driving the nc500 or just holidaying near John o groats.

It’s a good job the road signage is clear for this B&B otherwise it would be difficult to find. Our hosts were friendly and tried hard to make us comfortable. They took Covid security seriously. Our room was compact, clean and had a patio door which gave lovely views over the ruined castle and bay.
Breakfast was served at staggered times to keep guests socially distanced. Our hosts served us, quite rightly, but I’d suggest they put a menu of available items on the table so guests can make an informed choice, rather than being randomly asked if they want this, that or the other. My scrambled eggs and bacon were creamy and tasty, as was the rest of my breakfast.
Annoyingly the Wi-fi didn’t work which was a real pain as the 4G signal in that area was weak. Neither did the towel rail in the bathroom which made it cold in there. Our TV didn’t have any BBC channels, which was equally annoying.
A good value B&B if you are on the NC500.

Stayed at A Castle View B&B before taking the ferry to Orkney. Easy to find using a SatNav but it's also sign posted from the main road. Parking onsite.
Check-in process is altered due to COVID, but was easy to get our keys, get onto wi-fi etc.
The room was just as we needed, the bed was very comfortable after a long drive - also has a lovely view and it was nice sitting outside in the garden enjoying our fish and chips!
We were leaving earlier than breakfast was starting, but the lady left the side door to the dining area open so we could help ourselves to breakfast items (we just had toast, fruit & yogurt)
If you're staying here and looking for dinner options, in the village is a pub (worth booking in advance) or head into Wick for a few more options.
We would definitely stop here again on our next trip to Orkney.

The B&B is in a very quiet location with an excellent view to the sea.Yet, it is only a few minutes' drive away from a good pub/restaurant. Our room was spacious, well equipped with a comfortable seating area and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with some very unusual but very tasty options (poached egg on baby spinach). Parking was available, WiFi worked perfectly. Maree was very friendly at any time.

We arrived earlier than the normal check-in time however Maree and Teddy the dog were very accommodating by letting us in to the room given the miserable weather conditions. The B&B itself is immaculate, the room that we had was relatively small however extremely clean and housed everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent.
It is a few miles outside of town and has a fantastic view over the castles and bay, unfortunately we were not able to sit outside at night admiring the view as others have.

This place is outstanding. Our room did have a view of the castle, very comfortable twin beds, the bathroom and bedroom were very clean and nicely outfitted. The breakfast had the usual offerings; cereals, fruit, yogurt and a hot breakfast cooked to order. The hosts were very friendly!

Very clean and comfortable b&b with everything we required. Christine was very engaging host and she and her colleague gave us one of the best fried breakfast I've ever had. Would definitely recommend to others.

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Maree and Christine are lovely - they sincerely care about their B&B, their guests and everything they offer in the B&B. They are such professionals, along with a sincete personal touch! Breakfast is delicious and easily organised; you let them know the day in advance which of the options you'd like and they prepare it fresh every morning. Along with a buffet of tea/coffee/fruit/yoghurts/juices, everything is there. Shower is great, rooms are incredibly clean and everything you can think of is provided. And, obviously, the location and views are perfect!! We have not seen a hotel or B&B with these high standards and this excellent value for money during our entire 2-week trip in Scotland. Thanks Maree and Christine!!
