Terrific service, excellent food, lovely room, nice pool, spa and gym. Can't fault it really. The breakfasts are great. Staff universally friend and thoughtful. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Plenty of hot water. Good location for Cambridge. We'll happily return. Bar needs better selection of beers.

When we arrived there was a large wedding on & we felt awkward when having dinner & drinks as we were amongst this for the majority of the evening. We felt like we were crashing their wedding & they apologised to us also (not their fault). Our room also faced on to their garden/river area where they were out talking until midnight. Slow bar service, ran out of wine & couldn’t get in the cellar for more? £21 for a single Malibu & coke and a glass of wine which is insane. Dinner was pretty bland & small portion so we went to bed hungry. Looked into the spa but caught sight of a screaming child in the pool and thought better of it. Room was cosy & bed comfy but very dated. Bathroom floor was cracked, dusty fans/towel rail & pink mould around shower. Generous with tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast service was slow but tasted good. Very mixed feelings on this place - we had a nice time but felt a little uncomfortable.

Easy to relax when you go to a place like this. Wonderful setting, great facilities. The staff are very charming and attentive. Despite this, we found it a little lacking in atmosphere, maybe due to there not being many people there. Looks like a good place for a wedding and reception.

After reading some other reviews I was a bit dubious about the accommodation but on arriving I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, it was bigger than I was expecting after reading other reviews. We took our dog who thoroughly enjoyed her stay. The room was at the end of a row and was quiet. We did not eat at the Hotel but there are plenty of pubs close by, the White Swan was OK for pub grub and dog friendly, but the Sunday lunch at The Hole in the Wall was great and dog friendly. The only downside at the Hotel was the bar, it lacked any atmosphere. All in all we had a lovely stay.

My first stay here for around 15 years, and things have gone downhill unfortunately. Made a mistake when booking online, which was my own fault entirely. As a result, I ended up paying roughly double. Most hotels would be amenable to changing the booking, or charging an admin fee for doing so. No chance of that here, so be careful when booking online. The room was just about OK, though tired and badly in need of a refresh. Can’t speak to the restaurant food, as I declined to pay the hotel yet more money by having an evening meal. Breakfast, in fairness, was good. Average overall, and I regret not checking the hotel’s Tripadvisor reviews prior to booking, in which case I would probably have gone elsewhere.

Stayed here for 1 night with friends. I was a bit wary after seeing some reviews for this hotel, but I'm pleased to say it was lovely. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. We were a bit early but she went and checked if our rooms were ready. The reception area is clean and inviting. The room was lovely and clean. A big bed with crisp white sheets. A good bathroom with a walk in shower, plenty of towels and toiletries. The shower was lovely and powerful. Good comfortable chairs and a decent sized tv. The only thing was the window frame had mould on it, but the room didn't smell damp and certainly didn't affect our stay. We went out for our evening meal but came back to the bar afterwards. The barman was very friendly and the bar area was full of comfortable chairs and sofas. Then back to the room for a good night's sleep. As for breakfast it was delicious. I had waffles and bacon. Yum! Plenty of choice for everyone, both hot and cold options. All in all a very pleasant stay. I'd definitely recommend.

My stay was ruined by having NO water supply in my room from the afternoon of the 17th Feb to when I left at 11.00 am on the 18th. I could not flush the toilet, clean my teeth, shave, shower or wash my hands. I was told that this has happened before in this hotel. The reception offered me a room in another building where I could shower etc. but this would be shared with all the other guests of the hotel and they would clean the room in between guests. They also suggested that I might want to use the facilities of the Spa, which was also in a separate building about 200 yards away. As it was pouring with rain, this was impractical and of course not what I had paid for i.e. a private en suite facility in my own bedroom. The reception staff were good and tried to be helpful but if the hotel rooms do not have a water supply there is not much they could do, apart from give me an immediate refund. This they said would happen but, as you have most probably guessed it has not transpired. They are not responding to emails. Anyone thinking of booking this hotel should be aware of this potential problem and the total lack of customer service in trying to rectify the issues caused by this failure of the most basic facilities.

WARNING ⚠️ AVOID⚠️ firstly must say the room was lovely, clean and a beautiful design very cozy. Unfortunately the breakfast service was atrocious. Wrong order and cold. Also no milk and became a joke amongst other guest as everyone was pitching in to find some milk and serve ourselves. The continental was empty and that was only halfway through breakfast. Did ask at reception but they made it clear it wasn’t there department. Paid a considerable amount for breakfast and didn’t get a breakfast and did mention this at check out but they refused to cancel a charge for something we didn’t receive as they stipulated they would charge the card booked with. Spa facilities were out of order at the time of our stay which was not mentioned prior to booking or arriving STRONG WARNING TO AVOID THIS PLACE But not Cambridge. Lovely place great area and nice places to visit. Just not this one unfortunately ⚠️

The whole place needs a little tlc, updating and thorough clean. Our room in annex was ok and bed clean and comfy. Spa area was disappointing as the spa was out of use. Continental breakfast was dull, Sundays staff were lazy and not very helpful or polite. Tables not cleared etc. Best thing was the food. Couldn't fault the cooked food.

Went for a weekend away, with the wife. I had read the reviews and was a little concerned ahead. We had a room in the annex if was big and we equipt, it was let down by the grout in the bathroom, flakey paint in the bathroom and peeling wallpaper. But still a solid 3.5. The main building has a nice bar, restaurant and breakfast room. All really nice. The spa was tired, the gents changing room needed a good clean and the facilities needed a good paint and refresh. However as a package 125 for the night afternoon and morning swim and a decent breakfast this close to Cambridge is good enough to get a 4. But they could quite easily be a 5 with a little love.
