A very warm welcome awaits from friendly, professional staff. Delicious food with plenty choice. Gluten free choices already on the menu. This place has bags of charm and whilst a little dated in some areas, the effort to ensure comfort, cleanliness and the best customer experience they can give you outweighs the wait for updating which is underway. Nice little touches like the fresh water carafe in the room on arrival and lovely cheery decorative mugs for tea and coffee instead of standard ubiquitous white tea cups. Restful night’s sleep as it is so quiet . Taking over new ownership through Covid and surviving that is testament to the professionalism of the obviously experienced owners and staff. Be patient folks. This gem will only get better. We’ll be back.

Thank you for your recent stay at the Uplawmoor Hotel. We are in the process of doing a refurb in all the rooms and Hallway areas. We are very pleased you will be back to visit us in your next trip to Glasgow area. I will pass on your kind words to all the staff. We do like putting little touches in the Bedrooms like Mugs and carafe water to make it homely. Kind regards, Terry Mackenzie, Uplawmoor Hotel

It's the most fabulous food here.
It's all freshly cooked to order, and best of all, they cater safely for gluten free diners and they don't charge extra for gluten free dishes. There's a separate fryer too.
This is the cauliflower steak, which was absolutely gorgeous.

Happy Hogmonay to everyone at Uplawmoor, and our immense thanks for an absolutely fabulous Hogmonay Dinner.
The ambiance was great, and the presence of live music from your Piper really added to the experience.
Everything was perfectly prepared, was served like clockwork , looked and tasted amazing.
Thanks also for catering for Gluten Free guests, it really comforting to feel safe when eating out .
Thank you so much, and all success to you for 2023

This Hotel seems quaint, but there are serious issues. When I booked a room and paid in full, I told them I was handicapped and could NOT carry or bring down luggage, and they assured me they would be able to do for me. When we arrived they assured me it would get done, so we went to our room. The room was ice cold, but I was assured the heat was on and that it would be toasty in no time. That was at 1:30 pm. When we went out and ate, we came back around 7, and the room was still icy cold, they still insisted it would warm up. It did not, and we went to bed. When we woke up, neither the heater in the room or bathroom. It was extremely cold, so we decided to make the best of it, as we were leaving for the train station. I called to ask staff to bring down luggage. They were closed down. My wife and I ended up hauling down our luggage at great risk to us both. It is obvious they will say whatever is convenient to get a booking, even if it isn’t true.

Hi, Thank you for your recent review about our Hotel. I have contacted yourself through a different agency regarding your stay. I would like to clear a couple of things with yourself. You did make a booking through a third party agency, at no stage did you require assistance with your Luggage on check in or check out. When you arrived at the Hotel we did help you up with your luggage. On check in we do explain to all guests that the Hotel is closed during the night but there is a staff member on Site at all times with the phone. As discussed in our other conversation through another agency, the heating was on when the Staff member came up to your room and checked your room in the evening when you and your wife came back to the Hotel. We apologize that you and your wife did not enjoy your stay, please do not hesitate to contact myself directly, terry.mackenzie@jnshotels.co.uk. Kind regards, Terry Mackenzie, General Manager, Uplawmoor Hotel

Helpful, friendly staff. Rooms a bit on the small side, and decor is a bit tired - the whole place could do with a refurb. However, the place was let down by the 'Scottish breakfast' - just about inedible. The cook did his best, but the ingredients were clearly the cheapest available from the 'ultra-processed' aisle in the cash and carry!

Booked for lunch, looking to take advantage of the £10 2 course deal which seemed great value for money.
We had prawn cocktail to start which was lovely. The main however was a real let down.
One of the party ordered lasagne which looked great but was stone cold in the middle.
We notified the waiting staff and they apologised and took the dish away looking to rectify the situation. On return however, the outer parts of the dish were scorching hot but the middle was still really cold.
The member of our party chose not to eat the dish at this point, as they didn't wish to send it back again or cause fuss.
When our plates were collected we informed one of the staff members that the dish still wasn't hot and he was apologetic.
This was real shame as we'd been looking forward to it, but having worked in the food industry myself, I'm aware that under heated mince isn't something you want to be dabbling with.
The most disappointing aspect of the experience was the lack of customer service. Despite being aware of the issues with the meal and knowing none of the plate had been eaten, the waiting staff member, Laura charged us the full bill without any hesitation. We wouldn't have been looking for a free meal on any accounts but acknowledgement of the situation or even a gesture goes a long way.

We recently held a family party at Uplawmoor for 36 people. I liaised with Calum Low the events manager for a few months before the event and we worked together to plan the party. Calum was very responsive, so helpful , accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure my in laws 80th celebrations were enjoyed by all who attended .
Calum had ensured the function room was set up as requested and went the extra mile with table runners I’d requested. The room was attractive, spacious and ideal for socialising between tables. The menu choices were varied and as our guests had pre ordered their meals the service was seamless. Everyone commented on the quality of the food and how much they enjoyed their meal.
I can’t praise Calum and his team highly enough for their work in hosting our party . Calum was their to meet us on arrival and even helped us put up balloons etc. Nothing was too much bother for the friendly team at Uplawmoor Hotel and we thank them sincerely for helping make family memories.

Uplawmoor Hotel is a traditional old style country inn, with spacious welcoming rooms, our large bathroom featured a corner bath with excellent shower.
Emma & Stuart the hard worker owners are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they made our stay special.
In fact all the staff are a credit to Uplawmoor, special mention to Cameron & Derek for their attention to detail.
Great location being out in the country, but close enough to both Glasgow & Largs.
Delicious Brunch style breakfast with excellent home made bread. Evening meals superb & very popular so make a reservation. We had a very relaxing few days, Thanks for everything, we will return!

Hi, Thank you for your recent review about the Hotel and your lunch visit. We are sorry there was mis-communication about the Menu's. The menu that you have put pictures on are Monday to Friday 12-4pm on Saturday and Sunday it is the Toasted Sandwiches & Baked Potatoes. As a good will gesture I myself did put a Discount on your bill due to the fact that it was our fault. I did think this would have resolved this. Kind regards, Terry Mackenzie, General Manager, Uplawmoor Hotel.

Craig and his fabulous team hosted a baby shower for a large group of our friends and family today. It was wonderful. We had a lovely table set up in the cosy Burns Lounge and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with sandwiches, wraps, scones and cakes…all made fresh. Tea and coffee was constantly refilled and we had our own bar open for more drinks. The service from Craig, Karen and the team was great, from helping us set up and throughout the day. Highly recommend for a little girly afternoon tea! Thanks all! Rachael x
