Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's the most fabulous food here. It's all freshly cooked to order, and best of all, they cater safely for gluten free diners and they don't charge extra for gluten free dishes. There's a separate fryer too. This is the cauliflower steak, which was absolutely gorgeous.

Had a valentines overnight stay and really enjoyed our stay.room was basic but comfortable with its own toilet and shower. Staff were very attentive and polite had our dinner and full Scottish breakfast at 10am so did not have to get up to early to have it.both meals were very well cooked and tasted really nice.all for £98 for two.would def say if you were looking for somewhere in that area to stay then you prob could not get better for value for money.

Craig and his fabulous team hosted a baby shower for a large group of our friends and family today. It was wonderful. We had a lovely table set up in the cosy Burns Lounge and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with sandwiches, wraps, scones and cakes…all made fresh. Tea and coffee was constantly refilled and we had our own bar open for more drinks. The service from Craig, Karen and the team was great, from helping us set up and throughout the day. Highly recommend for a little girly afternoon tea! Thanks all! Rachael x

Amazing stay at this hotel. Excellent value for money and the attention from the team running this hotel was first class. The food was all fresh and portions were huge! A joy to have breakfast served to you instead of a help yourself buffet. Will definitely be back.

The lounge bar is a wonderful and favourite spot for a meal. We really enjoyed their new festive vegan offering, parsnip soup with a warm roll, and a fantastic mushroom wellington with sautéed potatoes. In addition, they always have at a good number for vegan starter and main meal options on their regular menu too, including an excellent mushroom tagliatelle. Homely, lovely staff, and great food.

A very warm welcome awaits from friendly, professional staff. Delicious food with plenty choice. Gluten free choices already on the menu. This place has bags of charm and whilst a little dated in some areas, the effort to ensure comfort, cleanliness and the best customer experience they can give you outweighs the wait for updating which is underway. Nice little touches like the fresh water carafe in the room on arrival and lovely cheery decorative mugs for tea and coffee instead of standard ubiquitous white tea cups. Restful night’s sleep as it is so quiet . Taking over new ownership through Covid and surviving that is testament to the professionalism of the obviously experienced owners and staff. Be patient folks. This gem will only get better. We’ll be back.

I'm a retired hotel manager with over 30 years service from medium to large hotels and now a food and accom critic . Let me say this small hotel is how it should be .charming layed back unfussed with fantastic staff . The food is on par with much larger hotels in Glasgow if not better . Staff bend over backwards to make your stay that so much better and the very welcome banter was fantastic. In times like these when the industry is struggling the owner and staff here deserve excellent reviews and support . I have stayed in from the best to the worst over my career and this is definitely one of the best Small hotels and I'd stay here any day of the week over branded hotels in the city Keep up the great work guys you have a place in the Badgers heart and I will return from Flotta to visit again Bruce & Kane Findlay

I have recently spent five nights at this lovely hotel. I was a late arrival and the staff could not have been more helpful. Not only was I a late arrival but also up and out early each day, missing the cooked breakfast. The team would deliver either a continental breakfast to my room or a packed lunch. It really was a breathe off fresh air. Craig in particular as an absolute gem. The food in the evenings were not only delicious but very well presented. The only negative, and I wouldn’t really even class it as negative as it didn’t affect my stay, the room was a tiny bit dated. Like I say, it didn’t affect me and I would very happily stay there again. I’d like to say again a huge thank you to the team for their hospitality and efforts during my stay :)

Just back from a one night stay. The bedroom was clean and the bed was really comfortable. Great en suite and the towels were big and fluffy. We had breakfast and dinner which were delicious. So I would highly recommend this hotel.
