We have stayed at Tower Bank arms for several weekends over the last few years, on this occasion we booked for a week. The pub has a lovely warm and cosy feel with the fire roaring most of the time. We received a warm welcome from the staff and were very well looked after throughout our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the village. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurts on a buffet and several hot meals to order including full English and a delicious porridge served with cream and strawberries. We ate in the bar several evenings during our stay, the meals, as always, were lovely hearty food with huge portions and the cheeseboard is to die for. All in all thank you for a lovely week, we will be back.

Our stay was lovely, our room was really nice and the guys running the pub were helpful and funny. Breakfast and evening meals were superb, Parking was limited but the landlord made sure we had spaces when ever we were there, normally by shifting around his posh land rover defender.
Can’t wait to go back!

This was our 10th stay at the Tower Bank Arms and the best ever. Anthony, Matt and Patrick looked after us so well and always happy to go the extra mile for their customers. The breakfasts are the best we have ever had anywhere. Dinners by the log fire in the main bar will always be memorable. You are assured of a great night’s sleep in the very comfy beds with great views from the window of the village and hills. I love real ale and there were 5 different Cumbrian ales on the hand pumps and all were served in excellent condition, my personal favourite was Loweswater Gold. A great atmosphere, the pub was always busy with diners and drinkers and everybody was so friendly and chatty. We will back to stay at the Tower Bank Arms very soon.

Just spent a week in Near Sawrey and enjoyed visiting the tower bank arms. All social distancing in place. Had snacks in the bar at the best table by the window. Snacks were really nice and well presented. Evening meals in the dining room were very good from wonderful haddock to chicken leek and ham pie, cod Sunday roast, with enough beef for 2 people. Everything was served to us by Matt Robert and Martin. All very friendly. A credit to Anthony who looked after us well as always. Thank you all. Hope the rest of the season is good for you x

This pub was next to where we stayed and we tried the beef and ale stew based on someone’s recommendation. It was delicious. I ordered a Sunday roast and the beef melts in your mouth. Definitely a must try if you like your Sunday roast.

We stayed in Sawrey for a week and visited The Tower Bank Arms on 3 occasions for dinner and drinks. All 3 were booked in advance due to the pubs location to our accommodation which was a 5 minute walk away.
Whilst the front of house staff were extremely polite and friendly, the chefs in this place are outstanding and need recognition for the mouthwatering food they cook. Every meal was absolutely delicious - hot (not lukewarm like you so often get in places), varied and plentiful. Try the sticky toffee pudding. You won't be disappointed!
Whilst there we saw people that had been visiting here for years and we can understand why. Excellent choice of drinks and very reasonably priced......hopefully we'll be back one day!

We were back for three nights in lovely twin room, and also daughter and Fiance in snug double. Recognised on arrival and quickly settled in. Martin and Matt giving good craic as ever, Matt you should be on the stage, you are the entertainment with the locals (friendly and characters) and guests, and Anthony as helpful as ever. Familiar menu remains excellent and daily specials v good. Freshly cooked breakfasts very good, top quality ingredients inc. ham, sausage (Woodhalls as to HMtQ) Eggs Benedict to die for - probably would if you have it too often! We saw the " typical crumps" arriving and being politely dealt with, contrary to the "bad reviews" of previous weeks - professional complainers! Top Gear was filming outside/around so keep eyes peeled for when that is on. Great stay, we will be back.

We will definitely be back here. This place is full of old-world charm. Room relatively small but oh so cosy and perfectly formed. The room has everything you need but the decor is like stepping back in time. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, hot shower, a beautiful view of the village from our window and so peaceful. The hospitality is great, very friendly and helpful hosts. We stayed 2 nights, breakfast was seriously top class and dinner in the pub was delicious. We wanted a see and explore the Beatrix Potter legacy and this was central. Right next door to Hilltop and beautiful Lake District walks on the doorstep, including a walk to the public ferry, across Windermere and into Bowness. Parking is reserved on the front for guests. For Beatrix Potter fans, did you know the Tower Bank Arms features in Jemima Puddleduck?!

We absolutely love this pub and we were so excited to be staying for our first trip away since March. What a tonic! Wonderful location in stunning Lakeland scenery, great welcome and the most amazing breakfast!! You do really need to plan a lengthy walk to work off the delicious bacon , sausages and eggs or the gorgeous creamed mushrooms on sourdough toast! The pub is small and old but they had managed to prepare for the COVID challenge so well and at no point during our 3night stay did we feel uncomfortable. Thank you for a fantastic weekend!
