We have been visiting here for over 30 years and the welcome from Robert and Helen is as friendly as ever. The rooms are not large but are in keeping with a cottage of this size and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere and homely feel about it. To see a real log fire burning in the lounge is a delight. The breakfast is beautifully prepared and presented and starts the day on a positive note. We will certainly be back, Covid 19 permitting.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the buckle yeat and what a beautiful guest house it is. The hosts Helen and Robert are most welcoming and very friendly. The room was warm, cosy, and very comfortable. Helen and Robert have truly put there heart and soul in to the buckle yeat and it shows as soon as you arrive. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection to choose from and set us up for the day. I personally recommend the fruit, yoghurt and granola compote! Ooh and eggs Benedict 😁. Beautiful views from the buckle yeat. Car parking. The tower bank pub is a very short walk! Where you can dine in the evening (booking early is recommended), you can also dine in the sawery house hotel which is just around the corner. Many beautiful walks, it's such a beautiful area of the lakes. We will be returning next year, we cannot wait. ☺️

If you can get booked in to this little place, you are guaranteed the best service, a fabulous quality breakfast and comfortable rooms and beds. What more could you ask for? Oh yes a log fire for those rainy days that are synonymous with the The Lake District. Robert and Helen are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much bother for them even asking for jam at teatime or newspaper to put inside your wet boots! We love our stays at Buckle Yeat and look forward to going as often as we can. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed for a few days for the first time. We felt very well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were brilliant, lots of choice and cooked to perfection. The room was comfortable, clean and well kept. Every night we returned to a cosy log burning fire, a lovely touch after a day on the fells! Near Sawrey is a quiet location and definitely worth a visit! Thankyou Robert and Helen

Everything was just perfect like always. Social distancing was in place everywhere. Helen and Robert are perfect hosts nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are really comfortable clean as always. Breakfasts again plenty of choice and well presented. Only 3 bedrooms again just like the good old days. Parking so easy and private no problems if the village is busy, which it usually is,on better times. Brilliant time as normal. Lovely guests to chat to over breakfast. Again thanks hope the season gets better for you all. Hand sanatising everywhere. The best place to stay in the lakes

This is a completely charming historic little B &B and it is literally right next door to Hill Top Farm if you are visiting there. My only caveat is to be careful if you are a solo traveler, as I was. I was assigned their "single" room which was so tiny that I couldn't walk around the bed without tripping over my suitcases. The dimensions are literally about 7X9 '. There is nowhere to sit down except on the twin bed. And nowhere to put your luggage. No closet and the small cupboard in the corner isn't really big enough to hold much at all. Also, the private bath is NOT ensuite which means that you have to make a trip down the hall for facilities. I didn't really see the other rooms or how big they were., so unable to comment on that. Nice breakfast was served in the pleasant dining room. Just be sure to designate not the single room - unless you travel very light and don't mind tripping over your luggage or going down the hall to use the toilet. I could only stay one of my four booked nights. When asked for a refund I was given a two night refund only.

I came to Near Sawrey for a short weekend break. Didn't mind where to go as long as it was Lake District. Pointed a finger on a map and here it was-Sawrey. The former home of Beatrix Potter. I booked Buckle Yeat as it had excellent reviews and was next to Hill Top-i could see the house from the window. What great hosts are Helen and Robert!! I felt so welcomed, like I was visiting family :) Robert rang and offered a lift from the ferry house. But I walked to take in all the beauty of the place. It is so nice and peaceful here and the weather was playing along. Everything in Buckle Year is thought through, so many little nice details that make you fell at home and relaxed. The breakfast is fantastic, towels and bedding are snow white, beds are comfortable. So many walks you can do. Helen and Robert have a selection of little booklets with many different walks-ask them to recommend you something. I highly recommend this little quite guest house and the area generally. I will definitely come back here and bring my family to experience thus wonderful Cumbrian hospitality!!
