Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you can get booked in to this little place, you are guaranteed the best service, a fabulous quality breakfast and comfortable rooms and beds. What more could you ask for? Oh yes a log fire for those rainy days that are synonymous with the The Lake District. Robert and Helen are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much bother for them even asking for jam at teatime or newspaper to put inside your wet boots! We love our stays at Buckle Yeat and look forward to going as often as we can. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the buckle yeat and what a beautiful guest house it is. The hosts Helen and Robert are most welcoming and very friendly. The room was warm, cosy, and very comfortable. Helen and Robert have truly put there heart and soul in to the buckle yeat and it shows as soon as you arrive. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection to choose from and set us up for the day. I personally recommend the fruit, yoghurt and granola compote! Ooh and eggs Benedict 😁. Beautiful views from the buckle yeat. Car parking. The tower bank pub is a very short walk! Where you can dine in the evening (booking early is recommended), you can also dine in the sawery house hotel which is just around the corner. Many beautiful walks, it's such a beautiful area of the lakes. We will be returning next year, we cannot wait. ☺️

We have been visiting here for over 30 years and the welcome from Robert and Helen is as friendly as ever. The rooms are not large but are in keeping with a cottage of this size and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere and homely feel about it. To see a real log fire burning in the lounge is a delight. The breakfast is beautifully prepared and presented and starts the day on a positive note. We will certainly be back, Covid 19 permitting.

Stayed for a few days for the first time. We felt very well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were brilliant, lots of choice and cooked to perfection. The room was comfortable, clean and well kept. Every night we returned to a cosy log burning fire, a lovely touch after a day on the fells! Near Sawrey is a quiet location and definitely worth a visit! Thankyou Robert and Helen

Breakfasts again plenty of choice and well presented. Only 3 bedrooms again just like the good old days. Parking so easy and private no problems if the village is busy, which it usually is,on better times. Brilliant time as normal. Lovely guests to chat to over breakfast. Again thanks hope the season gets better for you all. Hand sanatising everywhere. The best place to stay in the lakes

My girlfriends parents had stayed at the Buckle Yeat Guest House over a number of years and on her fathers recommendation we opted to book our two night stay. The guest house has on site parking, which can be a little tight when you have people-carriers / larger vehicles in there, but we didn't really have any issues as we first in and first out during the day. The first thing that catches your eye is the beautiful floral arrangements around the external building, then you look out to the wonderful views of Sawrey. The internal building has been well maintained and is it keeping of an old traditional style home, full of little trinkets, pictures and antique like furnishes (again all well kept) There is an open fire to relax in front of, which we enjoyed one of the evenings over a bottle of wine. We were met by co-owner Robert (we didn't get chance to meet Helen, as she was hard at work creating her magic in the kitchen). We were shown to our room, informed about the keys and wifi. Not a deal breaker, but Robert pre-warned us that the wifi had just been changed and was temperamental. (We won't name and shame the provider) We had one of the front bedrooms which had a lovely view. It was clean and well presented. You have a TV, coffee & tea making facility and biscuits. Our on-suite bathroom was rather cosy, but had all you would need for your stay in the way of toiletries, flannels and towels. Breakfast was highly recommended and let me tell you, it doesn't disappoint. The choice, quality and quantity are excellent and just want you need for a day of discovering The Lakes / walking. All in all, this is a very well run and established guest house, which we would highly recommend, and one which we will continue the family tradition and come back to for many years to come.
