Beautiful, quiet place right next to a paddy field where we are greeted by a cat, cattle, peacocks, squirrels and magpies! The pool is a great retreat after a full day in an offroad jeep at Yala National Park. Breakfast was very good, we are asked how we like our eggs done, and we had lunches and dinners there during our entire stay of 3nights too! Dula and Gummy took good care of us, being readily available and yet giving us privacy and let us rest on our own. Power cuts happened when we were here and Dula was very apologetic for the inconveniences, none her fault, but we have already read the news about the country’s fuel crisis and problems, so we brought our own lamps and torches. She has lamps on standby should you need one. Thumbs up, to the beautiful family and all their friendly staff, for everything.…
Highly reccomended place for a perfect getaway at Yala. We found this really unique and eco friendly place. Gamindu(owner) and his wife treat us really well during our stay and we cannot ask more. Staff is so kind and helpful. Specially Saman and Mahinda are really helpful for their guests. Go and enjoy your holiday in this little paradise...!!!
Wonderful place to rest ! Peace and calm you will enjoy by the pool, view on the beautiful rice fields. The room is nice, spacious and cozy! Nature till the bathroom ! The staff is really friendly and nice.
The hotel is located near Thissamarama city centre but in the middle of a paddy field which creates a silent and peaceful environment away from the sound of the city. The pool is clean and spacious and ideal for chilling in the evening. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfy (8/10) and they even provide room services. During our time there were only two staff members were there ( Stewart and the Chef) but they have attended to all our needs during our three-day stay(9/10). We even met Ben (Hotel pet- Dog) and we can assure you, he is a really friendly fellow and made our stay very interesting. Location is picturesque and Instagram friendly - FYI They even arranged our safari into Yala national parks the next day and our day trip even included breakfast and lunch and the person they have contacted for us is reliable and well manners and well experienced. Food is good but the menu has limited options and bit expensive; maybe they will adapt the menu soon once the Hotel starts to operate with its full capacity in the future (6/10). And I would definitely recommend this place to other visitors (8.5/10) (P.S. They accept cash not cards. ) Cheers!…
Sad to say this place is not in a condition suitable to operate. Stars given are simply for the awesome service by the one and only person available at the premises. Joseph looks after the place, maintains and cooks for the guests. He’s an excellent chef and we loved the food. As for the place, it’s in real bad shape. The rooms don’t have any tea/coffee, shampoo or water to drink. The rooms need a good cleaning. The food options given are limited and most of the surrounding restaurants are closed. Do not recommend it.
True, short and simple...we ate well, we slept well and the atmosphere was fantastic. The only way we were able to leave the place with peace in our hearts was to go thru a series of hugs with the 4 members of this family managed eco-village. Strange that we stayed there at the end of our trip with the feeling that we didn't want it to end.
Wonderful Cottages with an pool and own Restaurant. Rooms were a little bit dark cause the light isnt enough for these size of rooms. Lunch was not good and pretty expensive for sri lankan style. Stay isnt verry cheap as well Like 50 Dollars per night. Rest was verry good. :)
We spent two very relaxing days here - the cabanas are spacious and clean with lovely views out the back onto the rice paddies. The pool was heavenly! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you Laheru for making us feel so welcome!
We were here on a family holiday. The food was great and service of Supun and team was amazing!!! They made sure our stay was very comfortable & accommodated all our needs. Highly recommend Gaga bees. The views were breathtaking. It was my sisters b’day so they decorated a small hut ( as seen in pic) and made special milk rice. Highly appreciate all their efforts.
The hosts here are such friendly amazing people. The huts are fabulous! The views of the fields and the general ambience of the place is fantastic. The food is really good, beers and a lovely pool. They arrange everything for you for safari with a packed breakfast for early start. They do a special romantic bbq under a veranda that you can book which is so cute. Don't look anywhere else! thank you rosanna and doug x
