Motor biking through the Pyrenees we chanced on this great place. Lovely old French house really nicely decorated run by a really lovely English couple. Fantastic dinner with veg from the family garden and homemade meringue and ice cream but you MUST ask for their special breakfast which is a big bowl of delicious hot chocolate with two huge buttery...

My wife and I spent 8 days here and what a fabulous time we had. The area is beautiful, mountain views are spectacular and so much history of the Cathars to take in, a very unspoilt area of France. However the ultimate part of the holiday was the stay at Maison Esmeralda! Our hosts Mick and Marcia could not do...

We stayed for four nights at Maison Esmeralda and I can honestly say this is the best B & B I have ever stayed in. The room was really lovely and had a balcony looking out over the very pretty valley and village of Biert, everything was spotless and the beds really comfy. The local scenery is breath-taking, and they...

Whether you're staying for one night or much, much longer, Maison Esmeralda is, in the words of the Tina Turner song, 'simply the best, better than all the rest' - and we have good reason for writing such a glowing review.... My wife and I (plus well-behaved dog) stayed for a total of 6 weeks in summer 2012 - a...

We stumbled across Maison Esmeralda by accident. We had driven down from Yorkshire in our old VW Campervan and needed a break. We needed a good supper, big comfy bed and a full English breakfast. Boy did we strike lucky! Not that we could have missed it because Michael was standing in the middle of the road, directing us into...

We are a family of 5 who traveled the Raid Pyrenean, 3 cyclists and 2 supporting. We all want to say a HUGE thank you to both Michael and Marcia for their kindness and hospitality, without which our journey would have been much more difficult. The standard of the chambres d’hôtes is excellent – by far one of the best...

We were two couples with dogs and spent 6 days in the gite in Biert. After the long winding roads we were greeted by Mick and Marcia and their two children, who were at all times truly friendly, welcoming and attentive. The gite was fully equipped and the setting is truly beautiful and safe. The area is beautiful and exceptionally...

We, a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 11 and 12, stayed in the gite for a week in this wonderful part of the world. The gite is well equiped and spacious for 4 people. It is located just by the Arac river, which was lovely to hear while falling to sleep. We ate table d'hote with the owners...
