This is our second stay at Rosapenna, and we are equally impressed. A delightful hotel sitting at the mouth of the bay with the most beautiful views . The view is slightly marred since our last visit( 2019) by the building of many more holiday homes on the other side. A very warm welcome extended and our rooms were very comfortable, the beds exquisite. A proper easy to use shower( walk in) All staff were charming helpful and courteous who went the extra mile to accommodate our wish to have two large family gatherings, one at very short notice. We stayed a week and the high standard and choice of food was tremendous with fresh local produce. This being a golf centre( we do play golf) it is predominantly a male environment at times ( can be very loud) One negative was the sight of partially clothed men ( one in a towel ) passing through the hotel from the pool on a few occasions. Perhaps a dress code in public areas would be an idea. We will be returning next year for our annual get together with our Irish family.

A week-long stay at the end of our honeymoon. Rosapenna provides a great base to explore all the beauties of Donegal, near by and on the occasional longer day-out.

The staff were as welcoming as ever, and attentive to ensuring that guests felt 'Covid safe' without compromising the little details that make a stay here so effortless.

This might be our favourite part of the world, and our experience(s) at Rosapenna play a huge part of this...highly recommended!

We traveled as a group of 4 couples, mid July 2021, for 4 nights. Although we appear to have visited the hotel at the same time as an earlier reviewer (RH02), our experience was somewhat different. The service we received from the staff (front desk, bar, restaurant, clubhouse) was exemplary - both friendly and professional

Our food was excellent throughout - and although the OJ was not "freshly squeezed", I think only 1 (myself) of our 8 selected that each morning, and IMO, not an issue.

The views over the bay from our bedrooms were also very welcoming having been locked up for over a year.

Proximity to the golf is a bonus and having 3 quality options will make us return in the coming years and we all look forward to it

Spent a few days at Rosapenna earlier in August. This was the culmination of a West Coast tour, staying at a number of different four-star hotels...this was our favourite!

Our rooms was lovely and generous, with a fine view across the cute Sheepshaven Bay.

The communal areas of the hotel are very spacious - this made us feel especially safe/comfortable in light of Covid etc. All staff were particular conscientious in this regard, and full of craic.

We particularly enjoyed the pool, taking advantage of this every night before the really lovely food.

Can't wait to be back...next time for an extended stay!!

I recently stay at the rosapenna hotel for the 2nd year in a row and if possible it was even better than we remembered. From Edith and Hanah in the front desk to all the staff in the bar and restaurants, the service is just perfect.Serena at breakfast is a huge credit to the hotel and all food that comes from the kitchen is quality all the way, from breakfast to dinner it gets 10 out of 10. The golf course is on the doorstep and the hotel staff and pro shop make every request for golf tee times and buggies so easy you couldn’t ask for more. We stay in a bayview junior suite and the view from our balcony was spectacular.
I would honestly recommend this hotel for any occasion and I look forward to returning again to enjoy all the hotel has to offer.
Thanks to all the crew at rosapenna and I look forward to seeing you next year.

3 of us have had rime to ruminate on our 4 days golf stay at Rosapenna. This is our 6th time to have stayed and played and this is testimony for the quality of the hotel and most importantly the quality of the 3 golf courses.
Standards are important in all aspects of service and this is abundantly clear from the moment one enters the hotel. Quality of room is very good and the food is superb. A different culinary experience is there each evening with a truly wide selection of starters and mains.
But the gokf for us is key. We have played Sandy Hills and Tom Morris many times and this year we had the pleasure of adding the newly opened St Patrick's to the experience.
All 3 courses were presented in magnificent condition.
We played from the blues and this added to the challenge. St Patrick's is a good golf course and will be a great golf course when there is a little more definition between fairway and greens. But each new hole presents a new challenge. The first entices a long draw to a gorgeous green. The last tempts the long hitter for a real go at the green from the drive. All just lovely.
Risapenna is a fantastic experience. We can't wait to go back! Sipping a beer, having a sambo on the terrace of the clubhouse and looking at golfers negotiating the lovely 18th on Tom Morris is a lovely way to finish the day ! Fantastic resort.

I’ve just returned after another stay at this wonderful golf resort in the most beautiful part of Ireland and I have to say I enjoy more every time.
From changing golf bookings to adjusting times for dining, nothing is a problem and they make everything hassle free.
The food in the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner is superb and the dinner menu on both nights was varied and the quality of our food on both nights and the level of service were impeccable.
Thank you to all the team and a shout out for Gareth in the bar who served us on both nights and did it with great courtesy and professional service and also to Edith and Rebecca front of house for making our bookings hassle free and I look forward to returning again before too long and finally will echo the words of ryder cup captain paul mcginley “Rosapenna resort is a hidden Gem”

Four of us on a golf junket to the northern reaches of Ireland stayed for three nights in May. Can't say enough good things about this place. Wonderful, spacious rooms, we had views of the Bay, great food service, lots of amenities and great wifi. The two person soaking tub was a welcome amenity after walking 36 holes each day.
The golf courses were amazing. The Sandy Hills stands with the best of them worldwide, St Patricks is maturing and will soon be a destination course in it's own right. The Old Tom Morris should not be considered a lesser course and it is fantastic. True links style with some devilishly tough holes. Loved them all.
We were worried about what we would find in such a remote location but we found a world class facility!
Should my travels ever take me near here I am going to definitely stay there!!!!!

Room was very comfortable with a good view. Service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to be extra helpful. The food was very good with a selection for every taste and servings were very generous. The waitresses were extremely helpful and took great care to ensure that everything was as you wished. I would highly recommend Rosapenna as on of my favourite hotels

We have just returned from an overnight stay, booked at short notice for a mini break. The hotel was excellent, lovely room, superb food and wine and a very relaxed atmosphere. Didn’t bring the golf clubs this time but enjoyed the excellent coastal walks direct from the hotel, and the village of Downing’s.

Overall an excellent experience and, given the cost, very good value for money.

Plenty of practical covid precautions in place, in an obvious and sensible but understated way.

I have no personal, professional or family link with the hotel but just felt I should share what was a very positive experience.

Yes, there 2 excellent links courses by the clubhouse & one is a five minute drive away. I’m sure they could arrange a lift up there. Enjoy, it’s a great place

Driving is the easiest but will take about 3hours , the benefit is the scenery is stunning . Trains and buses are very few and far between in Donegal . Enjoy your holiday

All staff wearing masks. Lots of hand sanitising stations. Plastic screen at reception. No bar service - table only etc. 98% of guests do not wear masks, but the hotel is very spacious and at reduced capacity...me and my wife never felt uncomfortable once during our stay.
