This place is a gem. The staff were so friendly and welcoming with me. I always felt like I could ask them for anything. Multiple languages are spoken with no problem. Rooms are simple, clean, and cozy, making you feel almost like you rented a cabin. They offered a range of rooms with different price points, but I had no issue with the budget room.

Breakfast is tasty and plentiful, with a lot of different options and the staff asking you what else you might like. There are multiple common areas, including a TV room with a big selection of movies, and an extra dining room where you can come get tea or coffee any time you like and either chat with someone or read something--they have a library and also get several newspapers. The founder took time to sit with me and ask me about my travels, and he also recommended a scenic walk in the area which turned out to be beautiful. This personal touch really added to my experience and helped me enjoy Interlaken even more.

The hotel's location in Unterseen is great: it allows easy access to the Interlaken West train stop and the main street of the Interlaken area, yet it is just far enough off the main drag that you can avoid the noise and crowds downtown and have some peace and quiet. The hotel Roessli is a really refreshing alternative to the chain hotels. When I go back to Interlaken, this is where I'm staying.

I stayed here for 7 nights with my best friend and her mother, the location was perfect, less than 10 minute walk from Interlaken West train station, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and i can safely say i experienced such warm hospitality and kindness in this hotel. i stayed on the third floor with breathtaking mountains for a view every morning, chairs on the balcony, and clean rooms. A whole room on the first floor dedicated for dining and guests are welcomed to the plates, cutlery, microwave and free flow coffee/tea, milk, ice and water kettle. a gaming/ recreational room with computers and tv, a pool table and sofas to lounge, it was extremely relaxing and warm, not to mention cozy. the housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly and kind, so were the front of house staff and even the chefs and admin staff around, everyone always greeted and smiled, i felt so welcomed and taken care of. i would definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone heading to Interlaken

Hotel Rössli is an amazing option to stay in Interlaken - Unterseen. It is very close to the Interlaken West station, bus stops and many shops and restaurants. It is very easy to move between the towns of the Bernese Oberland, since the Interlaken West train station is only 6 minutes away by foot or there also is a free bus service to other important train stations. You will be given a free pass to use public transportation during your stay at the reception.

The place feels very cozy and Mr. Jean Louis and all off the staff are incredibly kind. I loved every minute of my stay there. I still remember the amazing and abundant buffet breakfast and the overall quality of the service. I really value that they have laundry service in-house, luggage storage and everything you may need. The cleanliness is also remarkable.

While it may be uncommon to find solo travelers like me visiting the Bernese Oberland, the hotel was perfect for me since they also offer rooms with a single bed at a better cost than a double or king-size bed. Couples and families will, of course, have more options that suit their needs better.

I thought of staying in one of the towns like Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen but Interlaken is a small city with more services, easier to reach and other wonderful places to see during Spring or Summer like Lake Thun or Brienz. (Sadly, I was not able to visit the lakes at winter time, although I did see some tours were offered during the season).

I am not too picky but this hotel definitely disappointed me, straight from the point of check-in till I left for good. Stayed for 2 nights, spoiled my Interlaken stay with the rude behavior of the people running it and extremely run down position of the hotel. Few things, you make a cup of coffee in the common room, you wash your cups yourself. If you have a problem in the room, like broken window, so that is your problem not theirs. You need to hold the button of elevator as long as you are in it, else it will stop. A separate key is given to you, so that you can enter inside the hotel, after it is closed in night. Breakfast options are very limited, incase you are a vegetarian, you are in for a trouble. Since it is an old hotel the corridors get very noisy because of the wooden flooring. Above all the reception staff, you seriously don't want to deal with them. After talking to them it does not feel that you are a guest and they are running a hotel, but you think you are in a Hostel and all the staff people are the Wardens, who time and again just repeat, what to do what not to do inside the hotel. Location is on Interlaken West, close to the Railway Station, that I believe is the only positive it had.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Rossli.
1. Best part of the hotel is the owner Jean who personally interacts with all guests. Everyday we started with a smile thanks to the jokes of Jean . He is such a wonderful human being. Thanks my young friend Jean.
2. We loved the breakfast here : Fresh breads, bacon , eggs , wonderful coffee, fruits, cheese , nuts etc. We were traveling with a 2 year old and everyone ensured that breakfast experience for us was smooth.
3. Location is at a convenient distance from Interlaken West station . It is right in front of supermarket coop so everything is easily available.
4. Washing facilities can be used at a very small charge which helped us a lot.
5. Unlimited coffee and tea available at their lounge . In addition microwave and cutlery available as well for use.
6. The entire hotel staff was nice and helpful. Definitely one of the best.
Thanks hotel Rossli for this perfect stay and we will be back again !

Now that Switzerland has ended all Covid restrictions, I was able to enjoy another stay at this friendly, cosy traditional Swiss hotel, centrally and quietly located, a five minute walk from Interlaken West railway station/transport Interchange, from where you can explore the beauty of the Bernese Oberland.

Christopher, Vilma, Khatia and the rest of the multilingual reception team are very efficient and welcoming and provide you with a hotel info leaflet and the Interlaken guest card that enables free local transport and provides discounts at some shops and attractions. They can also help with personal itineraries and tickets on the Jungfrau Railways system.

My first floor, very clean simply furnished room had multi-channel TV, shower/toilet, very comfy bed, plenty of electrical sockets including USB charger ports, a free room safe and Wi-Fi access. The room was cleaned daily by very friendly and accommodating staff.

Breakfasts were varied and plentiful with cereals, breads, toast, croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurts, jams, boiled eggs, cold meats, local cheeses, extra yummy scrambled eggs and bacon plus cold fruit drinks. Tea or coffee was served at your table. It was nice to see Jean Louis (Christopher’s father) in full swing again, welcoming his many returning guests and dispensing cheerful humorous comments, ensuring tea and coffee pots were always topped up and more importantly having the time to sit and discuss with his guests helpful travel tips. What an amazing host!

The ground floor lounge has sitting areas, a widescreen TV, 24hr tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave plus plates and cutlery so guests can heat up their own food supplies and eat-in. There’s also a well stocked multilingual library for guests use. There’s another widescreen TV in the first floor lounge along with a supply of DVDs, laptop computer and children’s toys/games.

Across the road from the hotel is a pharmacy, newsagent and pizza restaurant and within easy walking distance are several restaurants and a Coop supermarket that also have sandwiches, snacks and drinks that can sustain you on your daily excursions into the mountains.

Thanks again for your hospitality and kindness. It’s much appreciated.

This is a warm, welcoming family run hotel. Even on the first encounter it feels like visiting a favourite relative. The traditional chalet style is the antithesis of glitzy and new. up. We were on the first floor near the top of The room was cosy with wide patio doors onto a private balcony giving views of the mountains over the roof tops. The self service breakfast has a reasonable selection with hot and cold choices.
The large communal room on the ground floor with tea and coffee, a microwave , crockery and cutlery and real milk available for guests use all day. There is also a games room on the first floor lots of outside seating. All this encourages a social vibe and allows some self catering to help the holiday budget along. There is a busy Italian restaurant next door too.
The hotel is well placed for any excursions by rail, bus or boat. The receptionist suggested walking along the canalised River Aare to the Harderbahn cable car rather than taking the train. This proved a gentle stroll with the added excitement of seeing camels penned under a gazebo!? The circus was in town.
We only had two nights here so to maximise our time we got off the train at Brienze and travelled along Briezee into Interlaken by steamer. We were then able to take the train to Thun, after marvelling at the mountain tops from Harder Kulm, and sail back to Interlaken in the early evening.
Would love to come back some day and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a lovely spacious, well equipped room, with views of snow capped mountains from our balcony. Great buffet breakfast with a selection to suit all, our coffee always served with a smile and friendly greetings by Jean-Louis and his staff. Only 10 minutes walk from the railway station and bus interchange at Interlaken West, brings the Jungfrau region and the rest of Switzerland within easy reach. Having use of the lounge, with free tea & coffee, also use of any tableware required, to prepare food purchased from one of the local supermarkets, made evening meals a more reasonable price. Thankyou to Jean-Louis, Christopher and all the team for a really enjoyable and relaxed week, we look forward to returning in the future

Unequivocally satisfied with our four-night stay!
First, the location is just 5 minutes by foot from the train/bus/boat stations as well as the main thoroughfare through Interlaken. Restaurants, groceries, post office, shops, city park, even a difficult hike up Harder Klum are all nearby.
Second the property is neat, clean, and well maintained. Most importantly it is quiet. We were lucky to have a room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the street. Even at night we had the windows open for the cool Swiss air and there was negligible distraction.
Third, you won't find a better staff anywhere. Vilma was wonderful upon arrival and took the time to give us all the background. Everyone who worked the desk was warm and more than helpful....Chris, Christopher, Katrina, and Gabriel....everyone. Ask for hiking tips and you get a full featured map and explanation. Coaching upon request. :) Ahmed and Rios are always at breakfast providing more attention than we deserved. Rios will never let your tea pot empty, and the smile is ever-present. If we only had more time....

Zurich to interlaken can be done via Bern. Zurich to Bern around 50 mins. Take a transfer at Bern and go to interlaken. It would take an hour. Many connections in both routes.

As has already been stated, 'twin bed' means where they have two single sized beds with a small gap between them. They can push them together to form a double sized bed. I'm not sure about the availability of king or queen sized beds and rooms, but you could phone or email the hotel as all the staff are very helpful and speak excellent English.
