Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We’ve spent 3 days at Quinta Atlantis and had a very delightful stay. The house is very spacious and the property has some amazing views onto the ocean and countryside. Our room on the second floor (sea theme) was very airy and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy and bathroom was also spacious and very functional, although it had a slight sewage smell to it so we kept the door closed and window open. Maria was an amazing hostess and the breakfasts she made for us were some of the best we’ve had on our trip! We are just sad we didn’t have more time to enjoy the accommodation itself as it is very charming inside and out. The only potential issue is the very steep and narrow road leading up to the place, so make sure you’re comfortable with your driving.

Room Tip: Be ready to drive up a very steep and narrow road. Sea-themed room on second floor is amazing!

The breakfast spread was incredible with lots of local fresh food to choose from. They even offered to cook us eggs! We really enjoyed the views from the terrace and listening to all the farm animals in the area - sitting out there was very peaceful. Both our hosts and their pets were extremely friendly and made our stay easy and comfortable. I'd return in a heartbeat.

I stayed in Quinta Atlantis in June for 2 nights with my family. Leslie was waiting for our arrival, and we were made to feel very, very welcome. We had coffee and cake upon arrival to help calm our frazzled nerves (after a drama with our car on the way there), and Gaspar the cat came and sat on our laps. Guy and Adelia, the owners, have travelled extensively themselves and understand what people want and need. They were especially lovely to our exhausted and cranky 4 year old daughter, offering her hot chocolate and food to feed the animals, which she just adored. Laika and Pluto are gentle dogs who love pats on the belly and tolerate the attentions of a fascinated 4 year old very well. The house is stylishly and comfortably decorated and the breakfast is out of this world (fresh eggs from the coup!). Adelia sources a lot of her food from the garden, which she took us on a tour to see. It is a beautiful garden, and the goats, donkey, ducks, turkey and chickens were a welcome sight to all of us, being animal lovers. The view from the terrace is beautiful, and if you are lucky enough to enjoy good weather, I recommend taking your breakfast there. When we come back, and hopefully it will be a yearly pilgrimage for us, we will definitely hope to stay again at dreamy Quinta Atlantis.

We are so thankful for Quinta Atlantis, the owners, and the entire staff. This beautiful house with amazing views of the Atlantic is the best stay my husband and I have experienced. Leslie and Nisa took such good care of us and provided a delicious breakfast. Eduardo showed us all the animals and even introduced me to "Sheko" the donkey. The jams and bread at breakfast are all homemade and amazing. Our Nordic style room was beautiful! The bed is very supportive and we slept like babies every night. Thanks to all of you who made our stay so memorable. We plan to return in the near future.

We loved staying in this beautiful house and could fill a page with positive comments. Such as the warm welcome by the owners and staff, the beautiful house, the wonderful view, the general sense of peace, comfort and welcome and the nice en suite room we were given upstairs and last but not least the very delicious breakfast, either eaten inside at the big table or on the terrace outside. There was a big variety of fruit (some from the organic garden), yoghourt, cereal, breads, local cheeses and homemade jams, and eggs if required, coffee & tea - so the meal in itself was quite an experience. For evening meal it is quite easy to drive to Furnas or to Povocao where there is plenty of choice or guests are able to bring take away to the house and eat it there in the evening. It is well based for hiking, visiting by car or just going down to the sea So we loved our 4 nights here and would most certainly recommend.

Our flight was delayed in Lissabon, so we were going to arrive in the midnight. After calling to Adélia, so she arranged a good hotel near the airport. With breakfast and free parking space. Also we didn't have to pay anything. Super arranged by Adélia! After a good sleep we arrived there in the afternoon. We got a nice warm welcome from Adélia & Guy. In the evening we could join a bbq. The breakfast was good, rest of the staff was very friendly. We had a very nice stay there. The property is just 5 minutes from the town centre. Beatiful view of the surroundings. There is good email contact. Thank you Adélia & Guy for your good care.

Been at Quinta Atlantis with my wife for 7 days. We have been happy with the stay, the hosts, the room, the bed, the breakfast... In the kitchen was a sign saying "Our home is your home" - nothing to add. Five points because you really feel home in a place decorated with love. Great place to explore the island in all directions.

We spend 4 days (2 adults and one child). The hosts really do everything to make you feel at home. This is an old house which has been beautifully decorated with a nice view on the sea. There are drinks, fruits and cakes available all day and the breakfast is absolutely fabulous, with only local products- local being mainly the garden of the house. The hosts are helpful, they advised us on different activities and booked for us some tours (whales watching) even if it was for a date after we had left the B&B. You can really feel that the hosts don't do this for money but to meet people and share with them their passion of Azores.

I did not stay here but made a booking on Bookings two months back. I today received a orientation email from the proprietor of this B&B. As nothing was visible to me of this booking (which I believed was cancelled some months ago). Naturally, I enquirer about this and resolved it with Bookings quickly and efficiently. However, the email exchange with staff at Quinta Atlantas can be summed up as rude, short, unhelpful, accusing (instead of helping to resolve the matter)... to top it off I just received the following short message back ......'A little more decency and kindness would have been welcome.....' and 'The simple fact that this correspondance is chaneled through booking.com clearly shows that you have a valid booking' What kind of people are running this place! Clearly not recognising that there was an issue with the booking and instead of helping to resolve the issue, they treats their customers with disrespects and like idiots! I notice any negative reply or feedback provided to this business is received defensively rather than taking feedback on board (just have a look at the rest of the site). Not a place I want to be staying at! What a lucky escape!

Quinta Atlantis is the optimal choice for anyone searching for something more than just a base for their stay at the island. Adélia and Guy provide a real home where the guests meet in the living room for breakfast or after a day trip to socialize and exchange impressions and ideas for the next day. They have taken their role as hosts from professional to personal. A rare phenomena in today's streamlined and uniform hospitality industry. The guesthouse is located in a small village in a pastorale setting overlooking a valley full of animals and farm life. From the terrace you have all of this below you. The house and the rooms are designed in great taste with a sense of detail. This is in all respects a choice you will not regret.
