We’ve spent 3 days at Quinta Atlantis and had a very delightful stay. The house is very spacious and the property has some amazing views onto the ocean and countryside. Our room on the second floor (sea theme) was very airy and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy and bathroom was also spacious and very functional, although it had a slight sewage smell to it so we kept the door closed and window open. Maria was an amazing hostess and the breakfasts she made for us were some of the best we’ve had on our trip! We are just sad we didn’t have more time to enjoy the accommodation itself as it is very charming inside and out. The only potential issue is the very steep and narrow road leading up to the place, so make sure you’re comfortable with your driving.

A corner that is a paradise... Excellent view and exceptional hospitality. Divine breakfasts and always a special affection and concern on the part of the owners. Always very careful to make our stay perfect and always helpful to give tips on what to see or where to eat. We will definitely be back.

A magnificent setting! A warm welcome ! Breakfast is made with local products.. their chickens allow you to eat fresh eggs in the morning. The housekeeper prepares these breakfasts for us with love and varies them every day! Great cleanliness! A dog and a cat present but absolutely not annoying... on the contrary, we would happily adopt them! We highly recommend it 🥰

I stayed in Quinta Atlantis in June for 2 nights with my family. Leslie was waiting for our arrival, and we were made to feel very, very welcome. We had coffee and cake upon arrival to help calm our frazzled nerves (after a drama with our car on the way there), and Gaspar the cat came and sat on our laps.

Guy and Adelia, the owners, have travelled extensively themselves and understand what people want and need. They were especially lovely to our exhausted and cranky 4 year old daughter, offering her hot chocolate and food to feed the animals, which she just adored. Laika and Pluto are gentle dogs who love pats on the belly and tolerate the attentions of a fascinated 4 year old very well. The house is stylishly and comfortably decorated and the breakfast is out of this world (fresh eggs from the coup!). Adelia sources a lot of her food from the garden, which she took us on a tour to see. It is a beautiful garden, and the goats, donkey, ducks, turkey and chickens were a welcome sight to all of us, being animal lovers. The view from the terrace is beautiful, and if you are lucky enough to enjoy good weather, I recommend taking your breakfast there.

When we come back, and hopefully it will be a yearly pilgrimage for us, we will definitely hope to stay again at dreamy Quinta Atlantis.

Exceptional Bed and Breakfast in a small Azores village near Povocao. Enjoyed every relaxing minute in this beautifully restored house. Our hosts were wonderful, the rooms are very nice, the area is quiet and the Lombo is quaint. Very nice to see all the animals and fruit trees consistent with the traditional Quinta lifestyle. Special Shout out to Rafaela, Eduardo and Eduardo for taking such special care of us. The region of the island is spectacular with many stunning vistas and hiking trails, Pococao is the coolest little town with everything you may need, very close to the village of Faial de Terra that is a must visit, Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing from the minute we arrived until we had to say goodbye.

The breakfast spread was incredible with lots of local fresh food to choose from. They even offered to cook us eggs! We really enjoyed the views from the terrace and listening to all the farm animals in the area - sitting out there was very peaceful. Both our hosts and their pets were extremely friendly and made our stay easy and comfortable. I'd return in a heartbeat.

I travel a lot and really can compare with different hotels - from design hostels to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. This tiny hotel is the best place I have ever stayed in! Spent 3 nights here traveling with my mom and she has the same opinion about the hotel.
You definitely need a car to get there and it's not very easy to be found without navigation, but you can send an email and they will send you the map back. Povoacao is a small town (or even a village) to the east from Furnas, kind of 20 minutes by car. You will feel Azorean countryside, smell fresh air, enjoy the view from the windows - it can be sea (a bit far, but anyway it's the sea) or mountains.
Quinta Atlantis is a small farm with some ducks, chickens, goats and a donkey :) The donkey moans a lot, ducks and chickens give fresh eggs for breakfast and you will also be offered fresh goat cheese in the morning. The breakfasts are very local and all the food is very fresh - very tasty!
There is a garden for sunbathing, room for kids with toys and ancient school tables, cosy living room, another one upstairs, and you are welcome to serve yourself with tea or coffee and local snacks any time.
The design of the hotel is so amazing! All the rooms are themed, the whole house is renovated as if it is a home, not a hotel. Very stylish, very authentic, very fresh - you want to spend time there and wander through the house and observe every corner.
Beds are so comfortable, you sleep like a baby, and the bathrooms are brand new, big, cozy and stylish. There's an option for a kind of air conditioning to warm the room (if you need) and many pillows and additional blankets - this summer isn't very hot.
Staff is just perfect! Leslie, the lady who looks after the place, welcomes guests and serves breakfasts, is a real jewel! Very friendly, helpful, energetic, she will advise on sightseeings and non-tourist beautiful places, and it's a real pleasure to talk to her. Leslie is an amateur artist and you might want to ask her to show or sell you some of her paintings. Right now she has only couple of big ones, but maybe there will be some small paintings - seems like a perfect souvenir from Sao Miguel!
Also you want to ask Leslie to tell about the house - it has a story and you will appreciate staying in such a place.
There is also a guy who looks after the farm itself, and that's it - sometimes the owner, Miss Adelie, comes to the hotel for a few days/weeks and if you are lucky to be there at the same time, you will enjoy her company as well.
The whole perception is like you are at home, or you are a guest enjoying real hospitality.
I very rarely come back to the same place (only when traveling for business), but Quinta Atlantis is my love now :) looking forward to staying here again!

We had the most wonderful two nights here in the high hills above the blue sea where Leslie welcomed us as if we were family. The owners have created an artistic masterpiece in a lovely old dwelling, furnished each bedroom exquisitely, installed ultra-modern baths, and allowed guests the use of the living room, dining room, kitchen and the terraces which overlook gardens, mountains and of course the sea. Leslie made our stay even more exceptional with her breakfasts and warm conversation.

This place is very good and it should not be missed. Spacious room and one of the best breakfast ever, with loads of locally produced cheese, home made jams and alls sort of loaves.
The service was second to none and the friendliness of the owners was very welcoming. My room had a shared bathroom, which was the only downside, but to be honest, it was well specified and clear before I did the booking. The house has been restored beautifully and the communal areas are big and very comfortable. Very clean and tidy. The location is fantastic to explore the beautiful east of the island. I was really happy to have stayed in this place and no doubt I will get stay here again if I ever get back to Sao Miguek

We are so thankful for Quinta Atlantis, the owners, and the entire staff. This beautiful house with amazing views of the Atlantic is the best stay my husband and I have experienced. Leslie and Nisa took such good care of us and provided a delicious breakfast. Eduardo showed us all the animals and even introduced me to "Sheko" the donkey. The jams and bread at breakfast are all homemade and amazing.

Our Nordic style room was beautiful! The bed is very supportive and we slept like babies every night. Thanks to all of you who made our stay so memorable. We plan to return in the near future.

Dear Ruth. Thanks for your message. Honestly we are in a peaceful area on the rolling hills of Povoação and therefore it's sometimes (as when it's raining or bad weather) and for some people a bit difficult to come up here. But we had some guests who have done it. To go down to Povoação and to the beach it will take you 20-25 minutes and it's not so difficult :-) in the center of Povoação you may find the public transports to Furnas and Faial da Terra a few times a day. Please feel free to ask if you need further information. Kind regards, Adélia
