Run by Susan and Lewis Watson and Claire and William Watson-Laney, Roses Bower is a working sheep farm set within 230 acres of upland pasture in the Northumberland National Park, close to the forestry village of Stonehaugh. The beautiful Warksburn meanders along the Southern border of the farm and the ancient woodland along its banks provides a haven for a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The spectacular Roaring Hole Waterfall is located directly below the farm steading and the pool below provides the more adventurous with an opportunity to swim. The pool is the final destination for sea trout running up the Warksburn from the North Tyne.

My partner and I have just come back from a 4 night stay at Roses Bower Lodge and I'm lost for words as to how beautiful the lodge and farm is. Lewis and Claire are truly lovely people, all staff on the farm are very friendly and really welcoming. The kitchen at the lodge is an amazing size and includes a 4 person table with chairs. Oven with electric hob and grill, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer also with washer and dryer. It includes all cutlery, plates, glasses and cups etc. Tea and coffee were also provided. Our beautiful welcome pack included fresh farm eggs, bacon and sausages from the farm which were extremely tasty, milk, butter and cookies. The living room was spacious with two leather sofas, log fire and TV which has all the Freeview channels. It also had a DVD player and HiFi system, you could also use an Amazon Firestick on the TV. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom which had a superking bed which was very comfortable and included an ensuite with a large shower. Towels and bathmats were provided including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. Upstairs was a spacious double bed and a family sized bathroom with bath and shower. The hot tub was very private and such an amazing experience at night to see hundreds of stars and the views are incredible. Slippers and bathrobes for the hot tub were also provided. The views and walks across the farm were amazing. It was lovely to meet the horses and the lambs and sheep who were very friendly. There were also two beautiful friendly dogs called Sky and Meg who I wanted to bring home with me. Words and photos will never do this place justice, you just need to go and you'll see the beauty for yourself. I absolutely cannot wait to book this again as I have fallen in love with this beautiful out of the way farm.

We stayed in the lodge for 2 nights which was equipped with everything we needed. Lovely private garden with own hot tub.

Lewis and his wife were very welcoming and friendly.
My daughter got to feed the lambs which she loved.

The fridge was packed with complimentary sausages bacon eggs butter and milk which were all delicious.

We’ll definitely be visiting again in the future. 🌟

Just had a last minute 2 night stay in the farm house at Rose Bower Farm. We have totally fallen in love with the place. The Farm house has everything you need, is cosy and the setting is amazing! The views, the farm, the animals, the walks!! And the stars! The hot tub is a real treat and watching the stars with the lights off was magical. We took two dogs and could not have been made more welcome by the lovely Lewis. The family are extremely covid robust and we felt very safe. The welcome pack was delicious and I stocked up to bring bacon and sausages home. I almost don't want to write a review because I will definitely be returning and want the availability 😊. A very chilled escape, beautiful setting and wonderful hosts.

We found this on air b n b but wanted to book the next day, we messaged Claire and she efficiently opened the booking so we could book for the following day.
We found the farm fine from the postcode.
Beautiful set up, we stayed in the shepherds hut for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. Private garden and hot tub excellent.
We were greeted by Lewis who was very friendly and helpful, didn’t get to meet Claire but very informative via message.
We wandered round the farm to see the horses/ animals, very clean and they all seemed to love where they were.
Close enough to explore kielder/ Northumberland.
Lovely friendly farm with fabulous accommodation.
Thank you Lewis and Claire!

After spending 2 nights in the shepherds hut back in October 23, my 7 year old daughter and me are currently revisting. You are welcomed warmly by Lewis and there is everything you need and more in the shepherds hut. It is immaculately clean, the bed is so comfy and you instantly feel at home. Weve unfortunately only had bad weather so we haven't ventured far yet but the hot tub is an additional bonus! This is without doubt a little retreat that instantly relaxes you and we class it as our happy place. Located on a working farm you can have a little wander to see the horses, goats and usually accompanied by the sheep dogs and some cute cats. Weve also just had a visit from a woodpecker at the bird feeders in the enclosed garden. The lodge has every single facility you need and the log burner is a welcomed feature. We would 100% recommend this beautiful establishment and the wonderful hospitality that the owners have to offer. They are always on hand for anything you may need. We are already planning on returning in the summer (and hoping for some better weather 3rd time lucky!) Oh and you also get milk, coffee and tea, bacon, sausages and eggs on arrival. What another lovely addition!

We have spent a lovely weekend at Roses Bower and are already missing the place. This place is perfect for relaxing and you are made to feel more than welcome. The welcome pack was absolutely amazing best sausage ever. The kids loved exploring the farm meeting all the animals and we enjoyed winding down on an evening in the hot tub. Thank you for having us, see you next time 💖💖 xx

My wife and I along with our Labrador visited this week and had an incredible time. The farm is remote with big skies and so relaxing. The farmhouse itself had everything you need with the hot tub being the highlight for star gazing with a drink. Would highly recommend! 30 mins from Sycamore Gap & Hadrians Wall.

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend here. The area is absolutely stunning. The cottage was immaculate. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. We found every conceivable device in the kitchen. We loved the hot tub. Lambs and horses are everywhere. Many thanks to Lewis, Susan Claire and Will for their warm welcome and the much appreciated pack in the fridge. We thoroughly and wholeheartedly loved our stay here.

We've been visiting Roses Bower each year for about six years, sometimes twice in one year. The farmhouse is the best accommodation we have stayed in,everything is provided including a very generous welcome pack. The location is superb and there are plenty of walks and places of interest to visit. This is a working farm and although Lewis and Susan are very busy people nothing is too much trouble for them.We hope by making these comments we won't make it difficult for ourselves when booking in future.
Looking forward to seeing Lewis and Susan again in May and all the new lambs.

We took a week at Roses Bower with our 2 kids 13 and 10 and 2 dogs, whippet and terrier. There was everything there in the cottage for a wonderful self catering holiday. Lovely walking from the back door. Kids could not wait to go to bed to experience using the electric balnkets.Bliss!! It was definately a restful place for us all. Top quality accommodation in a beautiful place.
