Lovely country pub, with 4 rooms upstairs, we stayed in room 1 it was very clean and comfortable, Lisa checked us in and she was very helpful, we was out for the day and returned in the evening, we had a wonderful meal and Alex the bar guy was so kind and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great night sleep, really quiet, brilliant breakfast again served by a lovely lady. The staff couldn’t have been better at this lovely quiet village pub/b and b, we will definitely return.

Having viewed a house in the village and being told by a local resident that the food in the pub was good, we decided to pop in for lunch. Wanting only a light lunch, we opted for a cheese and onion marmalade sandwich. This was so disappointing. The bread for just from a sandwich loaf from a supermarket, and the grated cheese was obviously from a packet of already grated cheese. This sandwich probably cost them 50p (definitely not much more), but was charged £7.50. I appreciate the hospitality sector have been through a tough time, but cutting costs to lower quality will just deter people back.

Hi, apologies that your lunch experience was well below par. The food you received was clearly not up to the normal standard. If you coming this way again please give me a call and I will arrange for a complimentary meal. Jim

I met a friend here for a catch up and we ate in the restaurant and stayed in the twin room. The room was super clean, well-equipped and perfect for its purpose. The beds were so comfortable we both overslept!!! Dinner was good and breakfast really was as great as the reviews. All the staff were extremely friendly for our entire stay. As we were leaving I realised I had lost a piece of jewellery of high sentimental value which we (myself and the staff) hunted high and low for to no avail. Incredibly 3 weeks later I had a call to say it had been found! They kindly posted it and it is now back with me - a real testament to staying in independent properties with great staff who actually go out of their way to give amazing service to customers they clearly value. It's a perfect halfway point for us so we'll definitely be back!

Decided to pop in for a quick bite to eat on the way home from the seaside and luckily they were able to fit us in despite being busy and understaffed. Despite this, service was great and friendly and we shared a few jokes with the landlord. Decent pub menu with good choice of food - I had the Thai green curry which was on offer (curry night) and this was excellent. Big portion sizes and food was very tasty. Will look to return and sample the real ales on our next visit.
