We are a group of friends who run a retreat centre in Ireland, close to Upper L. Erne. We are situated across from Inish Rath Island, a 22-acre wooded lake isle. The island is home to the main Krishna (ISKCON) temple in the country. [This is a Vedic temple, or a mandir associated with the world-faith known as Hinduism, also referred to as Bhakti Yoga] Spiritual, meditation, yoga and vegetarian cookery retreats are offered, with aromatherapy massage and other therapies available. We've been hosting retreats from 2006. We visit Inish Rath by ferry boat or rowing boat (5 minute crossing) We love to host our guests and provide for them an enlivening holistic time.

I had been longing for a retreat for quite a while. My idea of a holiday is a relaxing experience, with a dynamic element given my nature. As I drove towards Fermanagh I was greeted by swans upon the numerous lakes gilding a panoramic sunset. As a solo traveller all apprehensions dissolved as I was greeted by the fellow participants and Tim with great courtesy and openness. The room I stayed in was comfortable and warm, cosy is a better description as I spent my evenings having early nights reading there. My favourite element of the weekend was everyone I had the privilege to have met, ( Dub, Galway, Antrim Down, Tyrone ect) a very close second is the food which was so delicious, nutritious, plentiful and excellently presented and always shared in great company. I had never done yoga or meditation before but felt drawn towards doing that sort of thing at this time of my life. All the sessions were fantastic, novel(to me) and serene. Not to take away anything from the other activities, my favourite was a guided meditation with Tim playing his music and singing. I have given this a five star as it deserves it. There is a warmth of experience that I and I believe all of us who were there will carry with us through 2024. Mark.

I went on an Ayurveda and yoga retreat to Lake Isle Retreats Friday to Sunday in April. Tim, who runs the retreats, is such a gentle soul and creates a warm, comfortable and welcoming stay. The Ayurveda tutor, Niamh, and the yoga teacher, Chrissie, were both so knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight of any stay for me is the wonderful food, all vegetarian, beautifully cooked. The atmosphere of camaraderie between the 9 retreat attendees was palpable. Lovely comfortable, warm and clean rooms with nothing but bird song to break the silence. Amazingly such a wonderful place is presented at a price within everyone's budget. I prefer genuine warm-heartedness and care to flash and bling. Some other retreats spend a fortune on advertising then the client pays through the nose for this. The group enjoyed a fantastic sound bath by Sukhada and there were many other treatments/therapies available. Also there was the option of taking the ferry the short journey across the lough on Sunday to Inish Rath island with its lovely grounds and temple. Lake Isle Retreats is a wee gem in a beautiful, peaceful and totally secluded part of south Fermanagh. I'd highly recommend it.

I truly enjoyed my weekend taking part in a Lake Isle Retreat! This is a gem of a retreat with amazing value for money for nature lovers, the spiritually curious, and those who simply need to unplug. The accommodations are beautiful, comfortable, clean, simple and close to nature. The food is absolutely delicious and handmade. I took part in a weekend focussed on yoga with Olive MacDonagh. She was an amazing teacher! The weekend attracted lovely, kind, like-minded people who were a pleasure to get to know in the small group setting. Tim and Yen are lovely hosts who seek to make there guests feel very welcome! The massage treatments are amazing!

A fantastic weekend from start to finish: I had never been on a trip alone never mind a retreat!
Greeted by Tim the head man on arrival and shown to my room, warm, clean cosy.
Full itinerary laid on with Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, Life Coaching etc, Plenty of options for holistic treatments on offer also.
Food was amazing! I am a typical never try vegetarian type of man however this was unreal! Breakfast was home made Granola, fresh fruit, natural yogurt, home made breads etc. Dinners were Curry, Lasagne, Shepards pie, Salads PURE CLASS!
The hosts were brilliant, Tim has a lovely soft relaxed manner and is quite witty and warm, his wife Yen is avail for treatments and I had a really top class massage with her. Other therapists avail on site for holistic and massage treatments which i really enjoyed also.
Yoga with top class masters and life coaching with Fiona was really enjoyable chat.
Trip to the Temple on the Island was a really enjoyable experience and the chanting was uplifting.

A wonderful nourishing weekend for body mind and spirit. The weekend exceeded all my expectations and I’ve just booked another retreat. Tim and Yen are wonderfullly warm serene and generous hosts. Lucy and Christie start the day with invigorating yoga classes to suit all abilities. Tim expertly guided us in meditation and chanting. Food is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. Various treatments are available and Yen is an amazing therapist who tunes into what her client needs. A five star centre.

I spent a lovely weekend at Lake Isle Retreat on a Canoeing and Yoga Retreat. Tim was a lovely, affable host who made me feel very welcome and at home. The food was excellent: healthy, nuitritious and in copious amounts. My single room was simple but very comfortable and right beside one of the two communal bathrooms in the house. Weather conditions made the canoe trip on Lough Erne a bit more strenuous than anticipated, but Tim managed the situation very well and with alot of grace and ease. The yoga sessions were good and given by three different yoga teachers from the local area. Tim's meditation and chanting sessions were excellent and very relaxing. I especially enjoyed the optional Sound Therapy session on the Saturday evening. Early on Saturday morning, Tim brought the group over to the Hare Krishna Temple on Inish Rath in his rowing boat. I enjoyed witnessing the morning ceremony and the interesting talk given. I have been on many yoga retreats both in Ireland and abroad over the years and liked this retreat for its authenticity and simplicity. There was something for everyone, whether they were new to yoga and meditation or more experienced practicioners.

I had such a relaxing weekend at Lake Island Retreats. The food was exceptional, Tim and his team gave us such a warm welcome and the meditation and yoga teachers were outstanding. The trip to Crom Estate and to Inis Rath were an unexpected bonus. This weekend retreat was a joy from start to finish. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!

The value for money is excellent, The staff are very good people and very helpful, the food is excellent really enjoyable meals & very healthy, everyone loves the homemade granola for breakfast & most people have a 2nd bowl. The meditations & yoga classes are very good & enjoyable, I love the walks in the parks/forests on the saturday. The visit to the temple on the sunday is also a good experience. I Have met a lot of great people on these retreats and some of them i have kept in contact with.
Tim does a very good job at organising these retreats, the whole weekend is full of enjoyable classes, meals, meditations & therapies(there are several different therapies to choose from), the therapies are very good value for money, i always have a full body massage with yen(one of the therapists)and she is brilliant at giving the full body massages, i highly recomend anyone going on this retreat to book in for the full body massage with Yen as it is money well spent.

During my first Silent Retreat (August 2024), I enjoyed having a programme of yoga classes, meditations and walks, all well planned to keep us busy with some rest in between. The vegetarian food was creative and tasty. There is an option for massages and sound bath also very much appreciated. And lastly, it gave me the opportunity to learn about the Hare Krishna movement through talks, discussions and the numerous books available. After 2 days, it felt odd to leave the group, the premises and to start speaking again… Would warmly recommend. It has a calming effect that lasts after you leave, particularly if you follow some of the advice demonstrated to you by the different instructors.
