We stayed for one night as we wanted to visit the snow monkey park and stay at a ryokan/onsen during our 2 week trip to japan. Staying here checked off all 3 boxes! The hotel was about a 4 minute walk from the train station and as soon as we arrived the owner’s son asked when we wanted to visit the snow monkey park. 15 minutes later we were in his car being driven straight there! We arrived during the later part of the day which was probably ideal as there were no tour buses and only a few dozen people (rather than a few hundred I imagine at an earlier hour). Make sure to ask for clear directions back to the bus stop to return to the train station. There are 3 onsens at the hotel. 1 private that you can lock and enjoy as a couple or small group and 2 that are separated for men and women depending on the hours of the day. One indoor and one beautiful one outdoors. Sleeping on the floor on tatami mats was more comfortable than expected! A traditional Japanese breakfast was included in our stay (make sure to include while booking) and served in a private room. It was so fun! Bonus: we even got a delicious Fuji Apple as a parting gift from the owner! My husband and I would highly recommend staying for an authentic Japanese experience. …
The owners were helpful and very friendly (especially older couple); the location is very convenient to get to (3 min walk from the station) and the onsens were great!!! The room was comfortable and clean- the whole family enjoyed the experience in this lovely ryokan
We've spent two days in this traditional hotel very close to Yudanaks train station. The hotel has three onsen, if I am not wrong. 2 indoor which I haven't seen as the outdoor onsen set in a small beautiful Japanese garden was always free. Super to relax and look at the sky at the same time, especially at night. The owners are very nice and helpful. They even drove us twice to the snow mountain monkey park for free. Only suggestion I would give to the owners is to fix the paper of the slidding door and one backrest of a chair in the Japanese style room. That is way I didn't give five stars, even if all else was perfect.
Loved every minute of our time at the ryokan. Beautiful room, amazing onsen (particularly the outdoor one) and super friendly owners :) Had a wonderful Japanese breakfast which was perfect for a vegetarian. Definitely recommend!
Ryokan is near train station and provided parking space. There is peaceful, breakfast is excellent and owners are friendly. It would be better if they do re furbish, touch up or some renovation. I spent 2 nights in summer which is low season and quiet.
