We had afternoon tea in the salon which looks out onto the hotel's garden. The Basque cake was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing there over coffee and cake after our afternoon walk in town. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

A quiet and comfortable hotel whose owner made us feel very welcome. It is situated in a small town with plenty of restaurants and bars. Breakfast was delicious, a good start to the day especially if travelling.

We needed a room for the night and as we came to Ascain we saw this hotel thought we would try it. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and showed us to our room which was spacious , well furnished and well presented. It had a lovely view and was wonderfully quiet. It was not expensive - very good...

The pebbled courtyard is a great place to relax for a meal or drinks. The hotel's new owner and his staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The location is in...

We had a lovely stay at this hotel situated right in the middle of Ascain. We parked outside and were met by the friendly proprietors and shown to a large room overlooking the hills. The hotel offered tapas in the early evening but we really enjoyed joining the locals at their "Fete du Thon" in the evening and being included...

I know this hotel and have stayed many times. Chantal and Dorothea are charming hosts and it is a very well-located hotel with a great restaurant. However, I hadn't been for a couple of years and was really surprised to see how much renovation work had been carried out. The whole place has had a complete facelift. The bedrooms -...
