Stayed here for one night in End October. Arrived early around 9plus in the morning and couldn't check in yet as check in was at 230pm. We stayed in this minshuku for one night. It is right in the middle of the old village. The owner greeted us a little wary, but that attitude changed very fast. She is very clear on house rules because she maintains an impeccably clean minshuku, with an absolutely lovely (shared) bath. The village is lovely at night and very quiet,...

We stayed one night over here. The room is clean and nice. It's a traditional Japanese tatami style room. After checking in, the owner served us the welcoming green tea and rice biscuits. Arrival; we got off the bus from Takayama at the same time as a storm, not good, umbrellas were accessible, putting on the rucksack waterproof covers was more difficult. It was April 1st yet Shirakawa-go still has no sign of spring. Farm houses and side walks are still covered with snow and the surrounding mountain slopes are still snow piled.
