We chose this ryokan as it was the last available room during Sakura. But I must admit, it was a pleasant surprise. Of course, staying in a ryokan is expensive, but the location and the experience was worth it for me and my family. The exterior of the building is nice and garden was romantic to enjoy a peaceful moment....

I visited this hotel this summer and wasn't very pleased by it. The staff was pretty strict about the rules and most did not know how to speak english. We didn't expect the garden to be awesome, since it was summer and we were staying there for a single night anyway. We were served dinner, but we didn't know what...

We booked Yoshino accommodation a little late which was not wise given our chosen dates were peak sakura viewing times. The hotel and room were the only ones available in the entire area and given the high season it was marked up and quite expensive. The building used to be a temple and having come from Koyasan (home of the...

The ryokan is located on the famous yoshino mountain. This mountain is popular for its cherry blossom viewing. But, we went there during June, and there weren't much to see. The hotel can be reach easily by bus. Not many people around there speak English, so it was very difficult to figure things out. The location is good. We booked...

A lovely 4.5-star hotel set within the lovely grounds of the Chikurinin Temple. The main building of the ryokan dates back 230 years. The Japanese-style Deluxe room we were allocated was a massive 60 sq m, consisting to two bedrooms and a sitting area. Our room overlooked a wooded valley. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and speak English. Leave...

Born from a mistaken booking on booking.com. suddenly we found ourselves in the Japanese 'jungle' where cherry trees are born in the Japanese tradition! Magical part of the trip. While the surrounding are magical and highly spiritual I can't say the same to the overall quality of this Ryokan. I'm sensible enough to understand that I have not used the...

Very nice hotel-ryokan in the Yoshino mountains. In this cold March the garden is still in his Winter shape, but it looks very beautiful. The common areas were quite cold, but the room temperature was perfect. Valuable the 11 course Japanese dinner and the Onsen.

Although it's expensive but it's worth the money. I love staying there and spending time experiencing the Japanese lifestyle, the room is very big and very clean and I sleep on tatami(japanese mattress) and I had Japanese dinner and breakfast which are very good. The hotel ( ryokan) is beautiful and Yoshino is a very lovely place to visit, nice...

Let alone the elegant style, great food and extreme warm staff, the adjacent garden carries especially a historical touch. Its name 'Gumpo-en' makes up part of the hotel's name. Its designer Sen-no-Rikyu is a close friend of the famous general Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who summoned an extravagant cherry blossom party at Yoshinoyama in 1594. However, the designer, who is a master...
