We stayed overnight in Kii Katsuura after finishing up our hike of the Kumano Kodo Trail. Upon check in the owner was very friendly and attentive to make sure we would feel at home for the evening. She showed us all of our options for dining and shopping on a map and showed us to our room. The rooms were... More

The hotel is very well located, on Kii-Katsura main street near the best fish restaurants, the train station, and the bus stps. The staff is very friendly and helpful, despite the fact that they don't speak English. Breakfast is excellent. The rooms are quite small. Our room on the first floor had barely no windows. It had no outside view.... More

Was a very passable and clean hotel in a quiet fishing village. Don't think I heard a lick of english the entire time I was there and the hotel had none either. Breakfast was free and good, gave us a map and showed me how to get to the bus that took me to the temples and trails. All in,... More

stayed here feb 2016 lovely hotel with caring hosts more than happy to help. Only a few mins walk from the station and in centre of town near all shops and places to eat. Car hire is reasonable and not far from the hotel either and great way to get around.

Location: Excellent, a 3min. walk away from train station & 5 min. walk to near-bye restaurants. 3 restaurants we highly recommend are Bodai (across train station), Nachi (French-trained Japanese chef) & Katsuragi (if you enjoy fish, this chef prepares it in multiple ways using many different parts of the fish-best bet is set menu) Accommodations: Simple, clean, spacious by Japanese... We stayed one night here as it was strategically located to the Nachi Falls It is close to the railway station which is excellent with the waterfront just one block away and plenty of restaurants nearby. The outside of the hotel was being painted when we were there so we had a ground floor room with no view but it... More

We stayed here at the end of a Kumano Kodo walk at the end of 2013... the room was small and gloomy and was a terrible disappointment after experiencing the delights of Japanese Minshuku and Ryokan during our walk Adequate, but to be avoided if you want to enjoy your stay

Staying here removes a lot of the trepidation that non-Japanese-speaking Western tourists like us have about venturing into the deep rural areas. It’s brilliantly situated 150m from the Kiikatsuura train and bus station, absolutely easy to find down the main street to the harbour. The hostess is the ultimate in quaint granny charm and all gaps in verbal communication are... More

I stayed 2 nights in this charming little family run hotel in the very quiet fishing town of Nachikatsurra. It is good base for visiting the three grand Kumano shrines and other attractions in the area as I will highlight below. The hotel is just 3 mins walk away from the train station. You are welcomed with a sweet dessert... More

We enjoyed our stay here. It was the only place on the Kumano Kodo where we decided not to have dinner included (I'm not even sure if it is an option) and therefore was one of the most reasonable. We wanted to be close to the station and close to some restaurants to eat tuna. This hotel met the mark.... More
