This ryokan is a beautiful property and hosts will make sure you feel like at home even if you speak very limited Japanese. Their onsen is extremely calming and beautiful - there is even a small river stream running just on the other side of onsen. Dinner is very fulfilling - dishes just keep coming and coming. I hands down...

Beautiful, out-of-the-way Onsen town. Shinseikan is old, rustic, a lovely property. You have to know, as we do, when you select an old property like that, that there won't be an elevator, the toilets will be Japanese (squat) style - we're fine with all that. This place has an onsen (hot spring bath) in the middle of the woods with a running stream next to it and surrounded by trees, it was an incredibly zen atmosphere! I did not stay here though. I only relaxed in the onsen for about an hour before leaving so I can't review that part but next time I am...
