spend the day fishing or looking out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small and family-run campsite between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. A small spring-fed fishery is on site for guests' use, open daily from dawn to dusk. Facilities at Broadstone Park include a newly added toilet and shower block and a small camp shop selling local produce groceries such as free-range eggs, burgers and sausages: most of those could be sizzled up on a campfire too...

This was our first family camping trip and we had a great time 😊 great location very central for days out, the whole area is absolutely beautiful. The kids loved the animals, amazing pizzas, lovely friendly staff. We had a fire pit for our 3 night stay which was an added bonus. There was a little road noise but got quieter through the night so didnt bother us and didnt keep kids awake so that's the main thing. The toilets and shower blocks on most campsites are never going to be perfect but they where cleaned twice a day , always hot water so that was the main thing. Will definitely go back next year.x

Stayed here for 3 nights in the field in Wales. Very family friendly, amazing food cooked onsite the pizzas are fantastic but our favourite was the veggie chilli, great beer and all reasonably priced, selection of sweets for the kids to buy. Although water for your morning coffee is available a tap in this field would make life easier. Toilets were kept quite clean, hot showers even a hairdryer. Loads of space for your kids to play football ride their bikes etc. Last but not least Boris the turkey a big lovable bird who just wants to be your friend and sit on your legs, he is heavy and leaves a few scratches but you get a photo with a turkey on your legs.

We have just spent 5 nights at Broadstone Park and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The people running the site are very friendly and helpful, the toilets and showers were kept nice and clean and the home made pizzas were delicious (as we're the chips). The site is right on the English/Welsh border, so our caravan was pitched in Wales and we had our showers in England! Our view of the Forest of Dean was spectacular and we can't wait to visit this lovely site again. Very happy campers.

Visited from Sunday - Thursday.

Good points:
Beautiful scenery
Fishing pool was brilliant with well stocked variety of nice size fish.
Good hosts, leave you to it and trust you to pay for fishing etc.
Nice touch with beers on tap and although we didn’t have any the food available appeared liked by other campers.

Bad points:
Traffic - busy road just outside the campsite and prevented me from sleeping and enjoying a few days peace and quiet. Would have been fine if we were further down the field though.

Toilets - during the time we were there these toilets (men’s and women’s) were not cleaned properly. Other campers on site also were saying the same.
These toilets are modern and of very good standard it’s just a shame that the cleanliness let’s them down.
Personally I was expecting these toilets to be pristine with the pandemic etc, and with us arriving the day after we were allowed to camp, but these toilets were dirty and in need of a deep clean.
If these toilets were properly cleaned on a daily basis and we were placed further down the field then it would be given a 5.

This was my first time here and I will definitely be back.

This campsite has very generous sized camping pitches, stunning settings, clean toilets and showers (with very hot water) and the best pizza I have had in a long time, not sure what more you could ask for.

We got chatting with the owners who were beyond accommodating and couldn’t have been more welcoming.

The location is great with the amenities of Monmouth only minutes away.

The cost was great value, inexpensive and a weekend of electric cost me 52p.

Thanks for an excellent family camping trip.

Can’t think of much on the negative side, If I was to be really picky, I would have liked an additional water outlet on the field but that was a very minor issue.

We had originally booked to spend New Years Eve at the campsite but that wasn’t possible due t9 the COVID restrictions so we moved our reservation to the first possible weekend post lockdown. We arrived late In the evening and just found a hook up with no fuss, checking in at the shop the following morning. Great walks into the woods directly from the campsite and down to the River Wye. We took a portaloo so didn’t use the washroom facilities - which were available on a “one bubble at a time” basis.
The on-site shops is really quite impressive with beer on tap and fantastic pizzas. I was very pleasantly surprised to see they offered my favourite - Nettuno. It was delicious and good value. We certainly hope to return in more “normal” times.

We decided to go back to caravanning, after several years without one and wanted to visit a site near to home to try it out. We found this gem of a place and had a really lovely few days there. The site is open all year, is well laid-out and the toilet block was immaculately clean. We had a beautiful walk through the surrounding woods and there is on-site fishing available for a small daily charge. We found much more than we were expecting and will definitely be back with the grandchildren, who will love visiting the animals. There is a small shop and bar on the site, which is great….we are very much looking forward to our next trip!

We have been visiting broadstone for a while now and find it's our favourite place to camp. Owners are very friendly and always willing to help. Toilets and showers are spotless and cleaned a number of times during each day. The food is amazing and cooked on site. The animals are a bonus for the kids and trying to hunt the turtle Terry is always fun. Just a short distance from the site are some woodlands that you can walk through. I highly recommend this site. We have already been twice since it opened this season and will be going back very soon.

Spacious pitches and we visited out of season so facilities were fine- quiet, cleaned at regular intervals etc. However at full capacity I would worry about the 3 showers for the ladies, one water station and one tiny washing up sink being able to cope. I would also welcome some finer touches such as hooks for towels, one mirror per sink and a more smartly kept entrance point to the campsite . Staff were casual but friendly and pitches were quite well maintained . Good position for exploring The Wye Valley.

Stayed for one night at this lovely campsite in one of their camping pods.
The pod was more spacious than I thought it would be, it was clean and tidy and the beds were made up on arrival and we had a comfortable nights sleep. The pod had a heater and a small tv.
We were able to hire a fire pit which was really nice.
The site has quiet hours between 10:30pm and 08:00am which were observed by everyone and we had a peaceful nights sleep.
The site is dog friendly - we had our dogs with us with no issues and plenty of other campers did too. There are some farm animals around (horses, donkeys, llamas, chickens, goats, pigs) to be aware of.
The toilet block was basic but clean.
The staff we met were all friendly and helpful- they told us about some local walks from the site which we enjoyed.
They also have a bar/cafe which sells pizzas but we had brought our own food so didn’t try it.

Overall really enjoyable stay, would recommend if you’re looking for somewhere in the area.

Are there good walks direct from the campsite? Any leaflets / suggestions for local walks?

Hi, you can get directly into the Forest of Dean from the campsite. My husband has a heart condition, so we weren't able to do much walking but other people staying on the site said there are some lovely walks and the people who own the site are really helpful and I'm sure they would be able to advise.
