Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing hotel used to host my daughter's wedding. The entire wedding party/guests stayed for 2nights and the entire stay/wedding was perfect from start to finish!! Massive thank-you to all the staff who were amazing, especially our wedding co-ordinator Sammie & our Wedding Chef, the food was fantastic!! Highly recommend the Sandycove for a hotel break and a Wedding Venue!!

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I went to see this venue about a year and a bit ago. We had seen two other coastal venues in the surrounding area and our main priorities for our wedding were 1. Coastal and 2. Intimate. When we pulled up onto Old Coast Road and turned the corner into Sandy Cove we knew instantly, without even seeing the venue that this was the one. We both looked at each other, tears in our eyes, and said this is it. We met with Dawn who was incredibly professional and knowledgable. This venue offered us exactly what we needed. Coastal. Intimate packages. In the run up to the day, the team were amazing. Particularly Dawn and Jess who went above and beyond answering lots of emails with lots of my questions. I visited the venue a handful more times to show my mum and mother in law and it was just as stunning every time. In regard to our actual wedding day, it could not have been more perfect. We had Sammy as our co ordinator and she was exceptional. Michael working in the venue was also the loveliest man and just went above and beyond so please please send a special thanks to him. He is a real asset to your team! Our day went seamlessly. Nothing went wrong but I have full confidence that this is due to the diligence of the team and Sammy. The food is outstanding, many of our guests commenting on how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I popped my head in and spoke to the chefs who were working so hard all day. They really do deserve credit for how delicious it was. We also sat on the balcony for about an hour watching the dolphins who put on a show for us in the bay. It was amazing. The venue speaks for itself, the view is so incredible that we felt like we didn’t need to do a huge amount on our day because just the location alone has such a wow factor that all our guests would be impressed by. All of our guests commented on how spectacular the venue was. Most saying they’d never been to a wedding quite like it and even some of them talking about wanting to get married there! I could go on and on about how brilliant this venue is and I could talk about all the small things that made it so amazing but truthfully, no words of photos will do it justice. I highly recommend visiting to see it for yourself and I can almost promise you’ll get that same feeling I did.

Paid a stupid price for the most disgusting room! (Here for a wedding and we all were made to pay the same price as everyone else!!!) Filthy, run down, dated, tired. Everything about our family room is terrible. Photos on the website is nothing like the real thing. Our view is an old cracked wall. Had this room cost no more than £40 a night I may have been more kinder with this review. But seriously sandy cove. Daylight robbery at its finest.

Can’t fault the staff, and the views are some of the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve been to Italy! However, my stay was tainted by my evening meal in the cove restaurant. The food tasted amazing, but I ordered chicken wings and chicken arms came instead. Other than that, well done sandy cove!

Key didn't work, took 4 trips from reception to my room, being told the key would work. Then I was greeted by a very unhelpful man who works in maintenance who also couldn't get my key to work. And was very rude. With the amount I paid I would have thought it would have been easy, and not talked to in that way. No

My daughter booked this venue for her wedding last week. The views were stunning and the hotel was fabulous. Food was amazing and their attention to detail was everything. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. We booked sea view rooms and they were a good size with a balcony. We can’t wait to go back and stay again.
