Just as well we booked, the site was full on the first weekend out of lockdown. Masks in the reception and two only at a time in the toilet blocks, with a neat ‘place your wristband on a hook outside’ system to let you know if you can go in. Most people were using their own facilities, so it was fine. The warden on reception greeted us by name, always such a friendly touch. The site is right on the bay. It’s east facing and windy, but the pitches are really well spaced out in little areas separated by whin bushes so you never see more than a few vans and there’s lots of shelter. The coastal walk from Stranraer to the Mull of Galloway passes the site edge. We walked from the site to Port Logan on the west coast, then to Logan Botanical Gardens and back. Ten miles all in. An easy day’s outing with plenty stops. Lots of cycling on quiet roads. The sandy beach looks perfect for launching boats / canoes / swimmers!

We are used to small, adult only sites so this took a little bit of adjustment. There are 150 pitches, many tucked away and only accessible over grassed areas. Luckily we arrived at 13.00, so managed to get a good pitch with views of the sea between other motorhomes/caravans. (Pitch 98) later arrivals struggled to find good pitches. You are not assigned a pitch, you get one then go back and let reception know. We towed a car so didn't need a pitch marker, if you have a m/home and no car, make sure you have a good sized pitch marker, especially if you are lucky enough to have a sea view.
Great beach with a nice stretch of sand, which our wire haired pointer loved! We didn't use the facilities so can't comment, on site staff were brilliant and the site/ service points were spotless.
Lots of children and even more dogs!
Make sure you have a fully stocked fridge and larder, no nearby shops or pubs
Would recommend.

First time at this site. Very warm friendly welcome, despite face coverings and perspex screen. We were fortunate to get a hardstanding awning pitch as there are very few. Awning put up, time to take the dog out. The tide was out so there is a huge expanse of beautiful beach right In front of the site and coastal paths for miles in each direction. Toilet blocks were usual C&MC high standard at the moment only 2 persons In at 1 time controlled with wrist bands, but seemed to work okay, but many people were forgetting thier bands. If you come here you need to be stocked up with everything you need, it's in the middle of nowhere, but beautiful scenery all round. We walked across to Port Logan, down to Drummore and up to Sandend. So much to see. There is a small shop at nearby Ardwell for essential and fishing kit. This is a big site but doesn't seem like it as it's all divided into smaller sections. We will be back.

Came here on our maiden voyage in our new motorhome. Paul was an absolute godsend ,helping us with the gas etc and nothing was any trouble to him. All other staff were really friendly as well and coping well with the covid 19 fiasco. Toilets were spotless with lots of hot water.just watch out for the rabbit holes around the pitches 👍

Second visit to this site. Loved it as much the second time. Really sunny weekend so plenty of walks on the beach with our labradoodle. It was a really windy weekend and with the site being quite exposed we didn’t manage to get or awning up. Toilets and showers really clean and not much waiting around to get in.

Because of the wind our car was covered in sand. My husband took it over to the toilet block and run the hose there over the windows as we were going out for the day and couldn’t see out of them. Warden was cleaning the toilets and pointed out to him it was a boat wash area not a car wash. He explained about the windows and she said again, yes but that’s for washing boats not cars. He didn’t have a sponge, bucket or soap, just wanted to clear the windows. Just thought it was a bit petty. Maybe make me think twice about going back which is a shame.😩

What a lovely site, right in the beach, huge pitches and felt like you could have your own little area without feeling overlooked. You are in the edge of the sea so even when it isn’t windy I can imagine it is still blowy….
Yes one of the toilet blocks was closed but it was fine, even when we were parked at the far end of the site. The showers were piping hot and you could turn them on without having to keep pushing them on. Kept very clean.
Really dog friendly and ours loved having the beach all to themselves at 6.30 in the morning. Even a dog wash area if you wanted to shower them off after the beach.
You could park where you wanted and there are lots of nooks and crannies tucked away if you wanted to be.
Tv reception for us was bad but we had dvds and books with us.
Lovely and friendly wardens, really helpful.
Not a huge amount of shops in the vet immediate vicinity but plenty in Stranraer if needed.
We visited Stranraer, Portpartrick, Mull if Galloway lighthouse and Gallie Craig in a 3 day visit.

One of the nicest sites we have visited. Pitches really well spread out, many with view of the sea beyond the dunes. Sadly we only stayed one night to meet up with friends so didn’t use the showers but the refuse areas, MHSP and CWPs were all immaculate. The wardens clearly take great pride in keeping the site spotless and Covid secure. Definitely a place to revisit when we can stay longer.

Quiet shaded pitches for caravans or campervans. Six hardstand pitches each with electric hook up and one tap for all. Adult only site, peaceful and relaxing with walking and cycling from site. Would recommend, we had a lovely stay and the owner was friendly and helpful sharing her knowledge of the area so we explored areas we might have missed.

Found this little gem.!
Owner Richard managed to fit our motorhome in at very short notice. Lovely location overlooking the coastline. Just 5 pitches so nice a quiet.
Richard was very helpful and advised of local things to see.
Approximately 20 minutes walk to local shop and bus stop which runs a bus up and down the coast.

Thanks Graham and sue

From the moment we arrived to leaving we were not disappointed! All Covid-19 regulations strictly adhered to and staff extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Site kept very well and whilst large it doesn’t feel like that as so well laid out. The beach is stunning and the views are too.
A visit to Logan Botanical Gardens is a must and we tried a bike ride to Mull of Galloway but didn’t quite make it as weather and hills against us lol!
Would return.
