Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Sheiling is very clean and comfortable. The Breakfast was very good, plentiful and kept us going for most of the day. In a quiet location but not inaccessible, close to a few good eating establishment. Annabel and Norman were very helpful give advise has to where to visit and where to eat. Would not hesitate in recommending the Sheiling.

We stayed for one night whilst touring the west of Scotland. It is off the main road but easily found and what a lovely find it is . Lovely hosts ,house ,room . We were in the sitting room at night and were given tea and biscuits before we retired to our room [the room had tea and coffee facilities]. Breakfast was superb. Everything was clean and tidy. There is a lovely sandy beach just up the small road about one mile [which you would probably never know about unless you stopped over ] There is a hotel close by which we went to for our evening meal and it was good value and tasty. We would stay at the Sheiling again if in that area

We have just had a thoroughly lovely week staying at The Sheiling, in their self catering annex. We had booked accommodation for the week elsewhere with another business and had spent two days driving up to Scotland, only to find a massive problem at our original location. We drove over to The Sheiling Bed and Breakfast in the dark on the Sunday night and knocked on the door in the hope of a room for the night. We were immediately welcomed to come and have a look at their self catering annex which was available for the whole week. Warm, comfortable and really well equipped, not to mention spotlessly clean! We had a thoroughly enjoyable week in what is one of the most peaceful and beautiful parts of Scotland, in the lovely annex at The Sheiling. We also very much appreciated the incredibly warm welcome and hospitality of Annabel and her husband. Thanks to you both for rescuing our holiday! :-)

The Shieling is a traditional Scottish B and B run by a lovely Scottish couple, Mr and Mrs McIver. The house is spotless and the bedroom we had was very comfortable. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this to our friends and would certainly stay here again ourselves.

This is an excellent B and B. Very comfortable double room, with a lovely view. Mrs and Mr Maciver were very friendly and welcoming, even though we arrived very late after a long day hillwalking. Residents lounge is also comfortable, with TV and DVD. Breakfast was spot on, really good. Highly recommended.

The place was just beautiful and amazingly clean and tidy and the breakfast was delightful. On top of that, the owner was so generous to let us use the kitchen and laundry facilities. We loved it, and highly recommend!

We had a fantastic two-night stay in this lovely B&B. Annabell and Norman couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating. They keep their home absolutely spotless and beautifully-maintained - and it's very homely, too. The breakfast is hearty and delicious - and we had the self-catering wing which is very well equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and hope too soon!

Our stay with Annabel and Norman at The Sheiling was a thoroughly delightful experience. They are warm, friendly and hospitable hosts and made us feel relaxed and welcome throughout! The rooms are cosy and clean, with excellent modern facilities. The classic Scottish breakfast was hearty and delicious and set us up for a day of exploring the breathtaking scenery nearby. You couldn't want for a more delightful way to escape and enjoy the dramatic landscape of North West Scotland.
