Carnegie Motor Inn is OK for a short stay and for what you pay. - Booking process was very inefficient - staff did not offer to send booking confirmation until being requested. Name spelled incorrectly and price was different to what being quoted over the phone, I sent 2 emails requesting changes and verification but no reply, eventually had to... More

Disappointed with the apartment we stayed in. Carpet not vacuumed, kitchen cutlery not cleaned. Heating is excellent and proximity to Caulfield can't be bettered It is an old building and it shows. Not sure we'd come again.

The rooms are very basic. The carpets are well worn and stained and need replacing. The bathroom has had some work done but should have been totally replaced. The shower opens onto toilet making access difficult and the silastic seal was covered in mould. The toilet cistern was faulty and ran water. The towels were small and no soap was... More

I booked at the Carnegie Motor Inn for 3 nights when visiting family in Carnegie. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. The room was very clean, reasonably modern and good heating. It was very quiet despite being so close to the main road. No noise from the adjoining rooms or outside. All in all I had a... More

We came to Melbourne for the BBL final and wanted something reasonably priced and close to public transport. The room had brand new carpet, was spacious and quiet. Free parking and a short walk to shops and the Carnegie train station was an advantage.

Booked a 2 bedroom townhouse last minute for 3 of us, for a mercy dash visit to the area. Emailed to try to change to a Standard 2 bedroom apartment when I realised the townhouse has stairs my father would not be able to climb, and Joyce rang back almost immediately to confirm the change with no penalty. The next... More

We stayed in a basic and spacious 1 bedroom apartment in this old style motel, with a comfortable bed. However the free wifi did not connect, there had been only perfunctory cleaning, and kitchen equipment was minimal, The reception was helpful and the motel was close to train and shops. It suited our needs for a 2 night stay.

The Carnegie is old but good value. We came to Melbourne for the ICC cricket final. We hired out one of the town houses which have full facilities and would be excellent for families. Close to shops, rail and many restaurants of different nationalities. It really fitted the bill for us and we trained to and from the MCG with... More

Stayed here over the F1 weekend. The place isn't that bad. Positives: 1. Good amount of room. Spacious but not huge 2. Bed. Very comfy. 3. Parking. Right out the frount. 4. Staff. Bloody brilliant Negatives: 1. Interior. Don't expect luxury but it all works and it does the job 2. The pool. It was locked when I was there.... More

We were recommended this motel to stay during the New Year period because it is close to Chadstone Shopping Centre and with reasonable rate. We checked the web site and it looks good from the photos, however in reality the place does not look even close. We booked 4 apartments and all but one apartment are dirty and smelly. There...
