Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very comfortable hotel which is well placed and convenient for St Brieuc and surrounding area. Near main road but in a quiet area so no road noise. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

The last time I stayed here was 2 years ago. At that time their only English TV channel was not working. I can now say that on my January 2019 visit, this channel was working, but not especially well. The picture had a tendency to break up at times. They fail to provide the usual "DO NOT DISTURB" hangers to hang on your door, if you are sleeping late and do not want to be bothered by the chambermaid. Nothing else appears to have changed since my last visit. The WiFi works OK, the rooms are well maintained; there is just about enough wardrobe space; there is ample desk space and conveniently placed power sockets. The rooms are cramped but OK for single use and/or short stays. The bathroom is deficient on shelf space. They have a restaurant, which serves food which has been pre-prepared and frozen, then micro-waved to order. The result is perfectly satisfactory. Some of the smaller dishes are available 24/7. This might also apply to the entire menu but I am not certain about this. One good plus, if you like eating at Courtpaille, is that this hotel provide coupons which get you 20% discount at either of 2 local Courtpaille restaurants. If you are not familiar with Courtpaille, these restaurants are always in cone shaped purpose built buldings. Their emphasis is on grilled meat, and prices are moderate (especially with -20%). This Ibis is therefore a good medium-low cost option, if you can tolerate the restricted space. I do NOT recommend this hotel for couples, unless you are sharing a single suitcase.

Overall it's ok. A cheap clean room. Until you visit the bar/restaurant. The food was ok for a quick reheat style of meal - they even had oysters as a special. You don't expect anything amazing in an economy hotel of course and we were delighted overall. After we paid the bar bill which was about the same value as the rooms, we asked to buy another glass of wine. The barman had been quite happily chatting to a friend of his on the other side of the bar for quite a while so it was a surprise when he became quite irate with us saying he has to clear up now. Normal customer service in every bar in the world I've visited ensures customers are given notice of closing. But not here. At this point the barman became very agitated and slightly aggressive telling us to leave immediately. This incident either feels like a tight controlling management making it tough on staff timings and thus forcing them to push customers out of the door, or, it's demotivated staff who really don't care anything about customers. Either way, it's certainly an opportunity for Ibis to suffer from, or improve on.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room clean and comfortable. The evening meal was thoughtfully prepared, it was tasty and served hot. Breakfast as ever in an Ibis was good value for money. The hotel is conveniently situated close to the auto-route.

In my opinion, rooms at Ibis Rouge hotels are cramped. In particular there is not a great deal of wardrobe space or shelf space in the bathroom. There is, however adequate desk space for doing paperwork and/or using a computer, and power points are conveniently located. For a single business traveller, the rooms are fine for a short stay. I do not consider that Ibis rooms are suitable for double occupancy, unless you are sharing 1 suitcase. Initially, I had the same TV problem that I had at the Ibis Deauville Centre. The only English language TV channel (BBC World) was not working. I had been thinking that Ibis had a problem with it's TV service provider that affected all their hotels, but in fact it was a co-incidence. The problem had a different cause and was put right on the day after I complained. The advantage of Ibis rouge, is that drinks and snack meals are available at the bar 24/7. They do have a restaurant with a rather restricted menu. I have used their restaurant in the past. The meals have been pre-prepared and frozen. They are micro-waved when ordered. This is reflected in the low price, but when I have sampled them, they taste perfectly good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I stayed in several Ibis hotels during our recent visit to France. This one is quite nice. It's hidden away in a suburban area (good thing we had our GPS), and even though it's next to the local autoroute, it's very quiet. Rooms are small, as they are in all the Ibis hotels we visited. But they're comfortable, and the bed was exceptionally good and we slept very well. Desk staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. What more can I say? 2 thumbs up!

this hotel is better equiped than the same budget hotel. It is very clean and the breakfast is very good. It is modern decorated and very quiet. Furniture is modern and bed is comfortable. Next to the hotel is a lake with animals . Every thursday a cantine is in the parking offering home made food.

I normally do not stay in Ibis, because I am already aware that their standard rooms are too small for my needs. However, this is reflected in the price, and I when travelling solo, I can usually re-arrange the furniture to make more usable space. I would find this hotel impossible, if travelling as a couple. The main problem being that there is nowhere to put your suitcase. There is a narrow margin of space around the bed, which as the room is configured is unusable. If the bed is moved to one side, a usable area is created. The bathroom is also somewhat cramped with very little space for toiletries etc... The hotel could easily fix this by mounting some shelves (or a cabinet) on the wall. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One positive feature of the red Ibis brand, is that bar snacks are available 24/7. This is very useful, particularly as, in France, it is sometimes difficult to find a bar or restaurant that serves food outside the traditional times for lunch and dinner, notably the late afternoon. In addition, these bar snacks are surprisingly good. The hotel is good value for a solo traveller, or for a couple travelling light and sharing 1 suitcase.
