Okay not much happening when I was here mostly because of the cold weather but I can see this is a good place especially in the summer. Good decor well maintained and very well kept rooms. Friendly staff

A good, small hotel with pleasant rooms and very dog friendly! The food at the pub was excellent, both the evening meal and at breakfast. Good location to explore Dorset and the coast. Would stay here again.

I had a lovely time over my two night stay. The team were exceptionally friendly, with Nina (the owner), being very helpful and letting me play with Buddy, the lab. I was inundated with offers of tummy tickles, both by the team and by the very friendly locals. The Grove is well located for day trips out, but also some... More

Stayed here during August. Room was ok and quiet (at the back overlooking the car park). Bathroom wasn't great and needs updating, wasn't very clean and the shower hose was broken (working but cover was badly split). Overall we felt that £120 a night was overpriced for the standard of accommodation.

Dear Little T, Thank you for your review it is helpful to know when an item is broken in the rooms and although you stayed in August and it is now nearly November it is great when we have feedback so we can attend to any items which get broken due to wear and tear naturally. Unfortunately in peak season... More

On arrival shown to our room which was comfortable and reasonable size. This is a lovely area steeped in history, not far from Wilton. The Grove Arms after the fire has been rebuilt and kept the old feel to that of original building After reading reviews about the noise from the road we packed earplugs. Was expecting some noise as... More

Hi Mrs Bezza, Thank you for your helpful review having stayed with us and noting that we are not situated by the M25 as some have said in previous reviews!! Remembering the blinds at the front of the building is a must otherwise the neighbours may give guests a strange look in the mornings....... In relation to breakfast thank you... More

This is the second time we have stopped off at this pub when travelling back from Somerset to Surrey. The first time we stopped was because the pub looked inviting from the road, and there was a large car park at the rear where we could easily park. The staff gave us a warm welcome when we walked in. It... More

We needed to stop somewhere for lunch near Shaftesbury and found the Grove Arms via google. We booked over the phone the day before we went. This was very smooth. The pub is really easy to find and is on a fairly quiet stretch of the A30 in Ludwell. The pub has an excellent car park with easy access from... More

Good food, could be improved, for example, the home made pie was just a bowl of steak, mushroom and ale with a pastry lid. A 'stand alone' individual pie or slice of pie, with a top and bottom would be a real improvement. Also, the Eton Mess was made with hard catering type meringue nests when it could be improved... Hi Suki1000, Thank you for your feedback in relation to dining with us off of our summer menu which has the lighter pie option on there using the puff pastry lid - obviously in winter we have our full pastry pies available which are a firm favourite on the menu but we felt perhaps too heavy for the summer months...
