Situated within Coastal Kippford, this beautiful lodge was ideal for our short midweek break. Clouded Yellow is one of two Butterfly Lodges on this site. It is an almost new and extremely well-equipped lodge. Everything is to the highest standard. The owners even provided a choice of cakes, homemade strawberry jam, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk.
The Lodge sleeps five and has an en-suite with a shower. It also has a separate bathroom with a bath. The cleanliness of the lodge was first class.

Just returned from a short break in our motorhome at Coastal Kippford. It is a lovely quiet site, with great access to the amenities in Kippford and super walks close by.
Very helpful, friendly staff in a well maintained park. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful holiday park for those who enjoy getting away from it all. Peacefully quiet, immaculate cleanliness in caravan and around the park. The Anchor pub in Kippford is well worth a visit - worth noting there's quite a big hill to climb back up to the caravan site.

As soon as we got out of the car bark bark bark when asked owner try stop dog barking I will not repeat what was said to me. Then just settling down and next caravan threw there patio doors open and put music full blast I complained to warden who promptly came and music stopped but as soon as warden went it started again so complained to warden who must have come up again as music went off. Then we were subjected to a barrage of abuse him shouting whingers at us.
The next day started again he just wouldn't listen so we called it a day and came home. Where do these people come from I think they go benidorm as love there loud music.
Won't go again if this sort of people they rent to

Good afternoon Kevin, We're very sorry to hear your recent visit to the Park was disturbed by noise from neighbouring holiday homes. We're glad you contacted the Warden on duty to report your concerns. It is unusual for the Park to have noise issues and we will look into this matter further. Thank you for your feedback.

A lovely site if you own or rent a static caravan or lodge. The landscaping and location of these is very good, however that is not the full story.
Six or so pitches are allocated at the bottom of the site for touring caravans. We stayed on one of these. Our experience was less than favourable. The pitches are situated next to a fairly busy main road, and so are subject to constant traffic noise.
The recent wet weather (not the sites fault) has rendered these grass pitches wet and muddy, and everything gets filthy.
Despite the site being aware of our interest in taking a seasonal pitch when available for next year, nobody approached us over the course of our 4 days on site. Our "welcome" pack was collected on day 3 by myself from the office, although little interest was shown as to our welfare from the lady on reception.
The facilities are clean and tidy, but it is very obvious that what the Business here is pursuing is the far more lucrative static and lodge market.
Advice would be... to be honest with yourselves and stop allowing tourers on site, as the dedicated touring pitches are very much less desirable/poor, when compared to the rest of the site.
We have stayed on other nearby sites at a similar nightly rate, but where customers, repeat customers, and customer care are the byword for success....that's where we will be returning to.

Good afternoon Phil, We're very sorry to read your recent stay with us was not to the standard you expected. Our nightly pitches are located close to the main A710 but we do advise customers of this at the time of booking. Your feedback is very important to us and we will look into the points you raised. We do appreciate your positive comments about the landscaping and clean facilities on Park. Best wishes to you and your family.

Beautiful new site owned rental van AA12. Wonderful pitch at the top of the site, with stunning views. The site couldn’t have been more helpful, everything had been thought an about. Warm and cosy in the middle of winter. Step out of the door into tranquil surroundings for energising walks. Just perfect.

I have stayed in many lodges in the past through the website hoeseasons. I booked this for me and 5 friends. On arriving everything was fine until we went into the hot tub. It was undercover!! And had a timer that switched it off at 10pm. Absolutely shocking!! They should state this as if we knew this we wouldn't have booked it. As it was indoors all the chemicals and cholerian stayed inside I ended up with the worst cold ever. The facilities were good in the kitchen. The double room had an ensuite. I dropped something and rolled under the bed. On picking it up I found vases and pictures for the walls hid underneath. Found this strange until I went onto the website and seen the lodge had all the pictures n vases in the room. Were they hid for our arrival? On leaving the site the hot tub became smelly and glimey I told the girl at reception - she blamed me for going in with body cream ect on!!!!! Was shocked!!!! When I thought about it I never seen anyone cleaning the hot tub. Never ever going back and won't be recommending it to anyone either.

We have recently returned from an excellent stay at Kippford holiday park.
We are a family of four (myself and wife and twin 12 year old boys). Having recently bought our first touring caravan I was keen to have a great first short holiday that would be the start of many more. We live in Edinburgh and did not want to travel too far so looked around the web and was enticed by the awards Kippford had won. My desire to select this site was made easier by an excellent web site that was feature rich and allowed me to show the family what it offered etc etc.

Our first dialogue with the company was via the phone and I was met with a friendly and knowledgable member if staff that listened to our needs and made some practical suggestions which led to me making a booking. The prices seemed fair and the site facilities including an adventure playground sounded spot on!

My own circumstances are slightly challenging when I look for accommodation as I am in a wheelchair and therefore facilities that cater for disabled while also satisfying my family are equally important. Like most good holiday sites they have good quality and clean toilets that made everything easy.

So payment made, date firmly in the diary and a week to wait and praying for fine weather.

My prayers were answered as we had fantastic weather and a chance to try out my new BBQ!

After a trip of just over two hours we arrived at Kippford and parked our van in the waiting area. We then went in and met the staff who were all again very pleasant and welcoming to all of us. Their reception was full of information including lots of DVD's which I expect you could rent.

The owner took time it personally walk with me up the fairly steep hill up to the site where we would pitch our caravan. It was a great spot with lovely views, water in/out and electricity (also known as a supersite). It was almost perfect, but for me would have meant a 400m walk to the disabled toilets. This would have been possible but not as easy compared to being on a site on the flat. This was no fault of Kippford as I booked very late and all other pitches were already taken.

This is probably the most important part of my feedback. The owner knew that I would accept and set up where I had been allocated but I could tell from his empathy that it would not be easy and he then kindly asked me if I would mind waiting 10 minutes while he went back to reception and discussed this with his team to see if he could juggle anything to get me into a better location. I was of course delighted at the prospect. The owner (Robin) shortly returned and said there was another option and took me and the family it a beautiful pitch at the bottom of the park and within easy distance of the toilets. This was a no brainer and I gladly took up his kind offer.

We soon set up the caravan and the kids familiarised themselves with the holiday park which included finding where they could buy sweets and play in gone adventure park.

Once set up we were visited by Robin to check all was ok and as novice caravanners he helped us set up a few things too.

The weekend was just brilliant. Fine weather, really pleasant neighbours, a beautifully kept park abundant with wildlife meant it was really special.

In fact I was so taken by the park, it's location and the staff that I have since booked two more weekend in May and also hired a static caravan so I can bring my extended family down to also enjoy the experience.

So in summary if you are new to a caravan, lodge or camping experience or are an experienced hand I thoroughly recommend you visit this holiday park as you will have a great time.

My sincere thanks to Robin and his team

Jonathan Gilbert

Kippford as a place is lovely with really nice coastal walks with 2 really nice pubs but as for Kippford Holiday Park it was such a let down. The pictures and description on the internet and the brochure are very deceiving. We were booked in to the Gold caravan at the very top of the hill which I wouldn't class as Gold I would of said Bronze and certainly the further up the park you go it's certainly not suitable for people that struggle with walking as it is very steep. We were disappointed with our accommodation it said 3 bedrooms but you couldn't swing a cat in it. The cleanliness was very poor, a lot of flies and a dirty shower plus there were a lot of other faults too many too list and the place certainly hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. We had booked for 3 night's but had to leave after 2 and booked in to one of the other one's down the road which was first class. We would go back to Kippford but not this accommodation. There is a lovely Bed and Breakfast along the shore walk the views looks spectacular.

This guest did not make any complaint at the time of arrival, or during their visit even though they did ask us for a spare light bulb. I (the Park Owner) personally inspected our caravan when we received their original letter of complaint. A family requiring to use the 3rd (bunk) bedroom would be advised it was a bunk room at the time of booking, but for just one couple? I found the shower cubicle to be generally clean, but to have one sealant line inadequately so and whilst our cleaners may have missed some flies, the booking was in the early autumn when flies come in through open doors and vents to hibernate; making it likely that a lot came in during the client’s holiday. I am surprised that the clients could say the caravan ‘certainly’ hadn’t been cleaned. Had they thought that – they are particular, even bringing their own cutlery on holiday – surely they would have mentioned it? We had in fact cleaned the caravan and the following customers were very pleased with it. I surmise the client did not like being high up with spectacular views, but with further to walk to the village (15-25 minutes instead of 10-15). They asked for a refund, but placed this comment after protracted letter writing and my refusal to make a refund (due to no faults being reported during their stay). I treat complaints as matters of great concern, for whilst to us a client booking is one of many, to the client it is perhaps their only holiday in a year and for them we need to get it right. Hi, Thanks for your question about midges. We do have midges and other insects on Park however they are not as ferocious as the ones further north. The midges don't appear to cause any issues for Owners and Guests as we get very little feedback or complaints about them. I hope this helps.

Hi. When we were there in February the caravan park wasn't busy with dogs. Any dogs that were there were small terrier types and all on leads which is the park policy. If you do use the caravan park I would recommend crossing the main road and walking your dog in the forest opposite the site rather than claiming to the top of the steep hill within the site grounds.
