Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Booked this Hotel based on TA reviews but unfortunately did not meet our expectations. Our room was right at the back of the Hotel ground floor, rooms are dated and in need of updating . We did not attempt to use the cooker and I doubt very much if you could make any meals there . Our rooms were cleaned every day but standard varied day to day we had two singles put together on two separate occasions one bed was made the other bed clothes thrown back and left ?. One day we returned to find our patio door left open ,bearing in mind we were on ground floor next to small road. Bar area and dining area very good ,had breakfast first day OK, but after used the bakery on the main street ,excellent choice of pastries cheese and ham rolls and excellent coffee. This was half the price of the Hotel. Did not eat at the Hotel as there was plenty of restaurants to choose from. Beach was a disappointment, broken beds and umbrellas . Never stayed there used beds and umbrellas further up the beach. Bottom line is that we only used the Hotel for sleeping . It was a budget Holiday so what do you expect ,we would not return to this Hotel.

Just arrived home. So disappointed with this hotel after reading glowing reviews. The rooms are awful and very dated. Don't think they have been decorated for 20 years! Crockery, glasses, cutlery etc in room all mis matched and didn't look very clean, so never used anything. Shower door broken, shower head hanging on loosely by 1 screw. Towels also disgusting. Now some good points. The bar/restaurant area and pool area lovely. Pity the rooms upstairs didn't match this. Pool bar drinks and food value for money. Marcella and Layla are fabulous and great assets to this business. They work so hard and lovely girls. Well done. Would we return. Definitely not.

Stayed for a week in August. Had a lovely time, rooms basic as expected from pictures. As per other reviews they were clean but what I’d call surface clean. Some shampoo had dropped on to shower floor on our first night and it was still there on the last which says the floor wasn’t cleaned during our stay. The hotel is looking tired in areas, the walls of the pool also on the grubby side. Owners and staff are great, location is great. Pool never over crowded and has a nice feel to it. Bar prices are high. Half litre of wine 10e compared to average 6.5e in the town for example. Overall. Nothing terribly but equally nothing spectacular

Room Tip: Turn right out of top of road and head to pinewood or kalypso for food instead of into the town....

We spent 1week in this hotell, and it was a week in paradiset. The staff, Marcella, Andy, The owners Spiros and Sawas and The others made this week a week to remeber always. Yra, we got a small room but it was clean and the balcony was big No charter for the beds on the beach and allo got served there from the hotel. A Nice clean pool and big bed area infront of the hotell to relax in. We will go back to this paradise in Greece. Recomend this to Everton. Thanks and see you all again! Mr and Mrd Brandting

Having just returned from the palmyra it’s safe to say it’s one of the best family holidays we’ve had! From the moment you arrive the owners and staff make you feel so welcome. Rooms are typically Greek. Very clean and comfortable, cleaned daily with towel changes. Showers could maybe do with a upgrade but adequate for what’s needed. Location is fantastic, 5 min walk to Nidri centre and a two min walk to the beach, the hotel even has its own sub beds which are free to use which is a real bonus, you can also order food and drinks to the beach. Pool is great, plenty of sun beds. Go for the garden area for the best sun. The poolside is more shaded but nice if you want to get out of the sun for a bit. The staff are superb. The owners always greet you in a morning or if you are passing. Marsella and Andy who work the bar and the beach are superb!! They were great with our two boys, interacting with them. Playing with them, pushing them in the pool etc.. nothing was ever too much trouble be it asking for specific drinks or just having a general conversation. Our boys loved talking to Andy about football and we enjoyed having a drink and a chat with marsella at the bar. They both work tirelessly day and night anlways with a smile on their faces and are a huge credit to the hotel. It was quite sad saying bye to them as we left. I’d also recommend the hotel Greek night. Cannot fault this hotel at all. We aren’t normally returners as we like the visit different areas however based on our holiday we are seriously considering a return (if we can get booked as it’s very popular!).

We were looking for a small friendly hotel, close to the beach and to other amenities, so we could have a serious wind down and we could not have found a better place or a better hotel. The rooms were very spacious, immaculately cleaned every day, bed very comfy. Our hosts, their family, and staff were wonderful and could not do enough for you. Pool and sunbeds were great, and there no problem getting beds, and it really is a great suntrap. Amazing food, drinks, and snacks. The beach is less than 5 min stroll, a bit pebbly, so take beach shoes. They have their own sunbeds and even bring you drinks and snacks if you want them. There are shops and an amazing Bakery close by and at night the harbour with restaurants bars etc were amazing. This was genuinely one of the very best holidays we've had and I would recommend this hotel to everyone. One pointer, take mosquito spray as they are fairly lively as this is a very green island. I think the fact that 70% of the guests there were frequent visitors says it all. We most certainly will be back

My wife and I stayed at the Palmyra last week in June for 2 wonderful weeks. We have visited many Greek islands over 20 odd years and usually stay in family run small hotels. We can honestly say this hotel, the resort and most of all the amazing owners and staff rank as one of, if not the very best. All that has been said in recent reviews we can confirm it's how it is. A special mention to the lovely Marsela who went out of her way to look after us, and to Eddie for bringing us drinks on the beach. The beach is lovely, away from the crowded beach near the strip and peaceful. It is a beautiful island with lots of places to visit and the local restaurants along the harbour were all very good. We would not hesitate in reccomending the Palmyra Hotel.

Stayed at palmyra for two weeks we had a brilliant time the family and the staff were Amazing from savros to the Lovely marsela, who was always running after everyone and would do anything for you and such a lovely kind woman. Also a special mention for endy who was absolutely brilliant looking after us on the beach for food and drinks and anything else you might need help with, a really nice guy. The hotel is so friendly and makes you feel so welcome you can see why they have so many returning guests. The bar menu was really nice the food is lovely and definitely value for money , and you cannot beat a really nice cold mythos when you arrive, They have a BBQ every Friday for €20 well worth the money and the Greek dancers are so good and entertaining we really enjoyed the night and would recommend. The grounds of the hotel are so nice, plenty of sunlounges around the pool also lots of sunlounges on the grass area behind the pool area, then you have lots of free sunlounges on the beach which is a really nice part of beach great views all around, and don't forget endy brings you any food or drink you may order from him, he is always around to take any orders. The hotel is well placed to visit nidri Harbour and lots and lots of amazing restaurants and bars. We would finally like to say we absolutely loved our time at palmyra, and thankyou all at the hotel, savos marsela the family for making our holiday a fantastic time.

Had a great time at this hotel. The staff were exceptional from the maids to the boss himself, especially the young lady running the bar (not sure how her name is spelt. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only negative was the fact the rooms were not suitable for self catering,no tea spoons and no small plates, just a sink and two hot plates no preparing area. Not a problem if like us your eating out all the time. Note to the owner, get rid of the coffee machine and replace with a toaster. PS Beware of the mossies during the day in the sunbathing area which is close to a river/stream inlet
