It's 2+ star as billed but George runs this little place as if it were a 4 star. We have had such a happy week here, a car will benefit anyone on this stunning island and whilst you will be ok without, you will miss so much of beauty, ambience and charm, it would be a pity not to get out and rent one. The roads are quiet, well maintained and drivers are slow, courteous and parking is free and plentiful everywhere.

But back to Ai Helis. Read the other reviews. I did and by bringing a torch, a dishcloth, tea towels and.... my new top tip for all, bring a large dustbin bag so you can fully cover the loo whilst you shower. I hate wet rooms and this simple action will stop it getting soaked unnecessarily.

The apartments are cleaned with fresh towels and linen three times during the week. They have a tv showing bbc news 24, air con which is 7€ a day and well worth it, plus a safe at 2€ a day. But it is so quiet and feels so safe here, perhaps the latter feels superfluous. We've seen mopeds at the side of the roads with keys casually left in them for example!

The pool is outstanding. If you crave a quiet week, this is for you. Children will be bored. Bring a book, hire a car, eat outstanding food, enjoy great service and admire the beauty that is Kefalonia.

From first entering the studio apartment, my first thought was basic, slightly dated decor. Kitchenette had a 3 ring hob, with an oven/grill underneath. The plates were small and hardly any cooking utensils, but we got by.
The beds were so comfortable, possibly the best nite sleeps I’ve had in a long while, a proper bed with a comfy headboard, not the metal frame beds you usually get in apartments. The veranda overlooked some olive trees so listening to the birds in the morning was nice.
My only negative has to be the bathroom, so tiny. The shower is next to the toilet and as the shower curtain didn’t go all the way round, the toilet and floor got soaking after every shower, in the end we put a towel over the toilet and an extra one on the floor.
The pool and sunbed area has to be 10/10, so peaceful and never got busy, there’s a makeshift bar at one end, looks like a beach bar. Just a cold fridge that sold cans, nothing on draught. Not constantly manned though, so if you wanted a drink sometimes you use to have to go and look for George the owner.
Plenty of restaurants and a couple of bars, plus 2 supermarkets all within 10-15mins walking. Beach 10min walk
I wouldn’t recommend these apartments if you have children as there’s nothing for them to do but if you want a quiet chilled out adult holiday I’d recommend them.
Our favourite restaurant was Fois, 10min walk away, had traditional Greek singing on twice a week, lovely atmosphere and great food

A lovely place, clean, quiet and peaceful. George the owner was lovely! The pool bar drinks are reasonably priced and there’s plenty of sun beds by the pool (no need to reserve one early!). Self catering room had everything you’d need for cooking basic meals, anything you’re missing is sold in the nearby mini mart. Air con £7/day but wasn’t needed in early June.

Ai Helis beach is a short 10-15 min walk away but the only way is via a steep slope or our preferred faster route, the stairs. Not great if you struggle with mobility, but the beach is beautiful and quiet and the sea is gorgeous and clear. There are plenty other more accessible beaches that can be driven to/get the bus to.

The nearest bus stop is about 8 mins away, along with a small shop. There’s another little shop about 15 mins away which does all your british foods and Greek snacks. Fresh fruit, bread etc. We went to lidl and did a big shop on arrival, definitely recommend this as the mini marts aren’t cheap for a full 2week shop! (Think UK petrol station prices).

Bus into the town Center is €2 each way, cash.

Get a bug repellant plug from the mini mark in if you don’t want to be eaten alive, they worked great.

Overall we would come again in a heartbeat. It’s not a 5* fancy fancy hotel, but you get what you pay for and there was nothing wrong with this. A quiet family atmosphere, maybe a bit boring for kids but for adults who just want to chill out it’s perfect. Cleaners were regular and thorough and as said above, manager George is lovely! Would recommend.

We stayed here with friends and can honestly say we had a fantastic stay. We arrived in the evening, George met us, checked us in, told us about the buses and local area and showed us to our rooms.
The rooms were clean, with very comfortable beds and all we needed, we do not spend much time in our room so we're not bothered by the lack of cutlery etc that has been previously mentioned. Bins were emptied every day
The pool area was spotless and if you wanted a drink George was on hand.
These apartments and the surrounding area are quiet and the perfect place to just kick back and relax.
Would definitely stay again.

Great loc\ation with easy access to 3 local beaches, 15 to 30 minutes walk depending on choice. Simlarly around 10 places to eat again varying in time by 15 to 30 minutes walking all of which were ok.
The pool and bar area were fine with loungers and parasols available. The rooms were very basic and a little run down and for self caterers the available kitchen utensils were limited however George the manager was always friendly and helpful and the place is extremely relaxed but generally clean.
As mentioned in another post the plumbing in the bathrooms was distinctivly Greek but lets face it the appartment's not what it's all about its eveything that makes a good holiday and thats certainly what we had. I'd return knowing what I know but to someone else's point I don't feel that TUI are really transparent when it comes to advertising these appatments.

This was a very last minute booking with a good discounted price from TUI. As others have said it it a lovely, peaceful area and Ai Heris Apartments are set down a quiet lane, 10 minutes stroll to a supermarket, and about 6/7 tavernas dotted around the area. Ai Heris beach (10 minute walk) is lovely, with 2 sunbeds and umbrella for 10 euros, it is down a steep incline on one side or if you use the opposite side a good number of steps. Back to the apartments - yes it is 2 star, it is basic and maybe a little dated, however immaculately clean. There is a small pool bar but no food / eating facilities (TUI are still advertising as B&B) We did our own breakfast and cold lunches in the apartment. George and his family are very friendly. I did my research and took note of other reviews. The bus service is ok, with the local bus passing through and going to Lassi and Argostoli. Bring a torch if you are walking back at night. Hire a car if you want to travel out further afield. I would not hesitate to come back here, we have really enjoyed the peaceful location. Our favourite place to eat was Fois which down the side lane off the main road.

These apartments are in a lovely quiet spot and a nice area of the island. Car is ideal as it is not a built up area but very tranquil as a result. The apartments are functional with small kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The decor is very tired, circa late 1980s is my guess. No real effort is put into making the place nice which is a shame because it could be lovely. Owners are indifferent. They made no effort to inform or help guests during 2 days without power following a storm. The situation wasn’t their fault but they did nothing to support guests e.g. by providing information, torches at night or hot water in the mornings. Other local family owners did this for the guests. So if you’re happy with cheap and no frills this place is fine but it’s not representative of Greek hospitality and there are much nicer places to stay in the area.

Wow, beautiful rural location. If your looking for a quite holiday and dont mind a walk off the beaten track then this hotel location is perfect. The hotel is basic but adequate. The pool area is beautiful and clean with sunbeds and parasols. The hotel is advertised as small and friendly and definitely lives up to that description. It is run by George, a lovely and knowledgeable gentleman. The capital can be accessed by a local bus for 2 euros each way and is well worth a visit. Some beautiful traditional tavernas approximately 10 minute walk from accommodation. Again most off the beaten track. The beach is about a 10 minute walk but it is very hilly, quiet and peaceful.
George you have a little gem of a hotel and we hope to see you next year.

I stayed in these lovely apartments with my husband and our daughter who is in her 20s for 2 weeks , we picked this place as it only has 13 apartments and was off the beaten track in a small resort which is what we like and look for it a holiday , 10 to 15 mins walk gets you to a hand full of very nice restaurants the sunset from the ones on the sea front is amazing to watch , and a couple of supermarkets , the pool area is a delightful area , the pool is large for a small complex ideal for relaxing after a hard year at home , never once had a issue getting a sun bed the room we had was a one bed apartment overlooking the pool and was spacious and well equipped for our needs . The only thing that spoilt our stay was the arrival of a family from hell (1 mother 4 teenagers ) who were not particularly well behaved and spent most of the week they were there drunk (even though 2 of them weren’t old enough ! ) and arguing with the owners, the other holiday makers and themselves, which did make everyone uneasy while they where around , I guess they were in the wrong resort but should have had a bit of respect for the others around them , we even rented a car to get away from them , hiring a car is a great way to explore the very many beautiful places this island has . But I would definitely return to this lovely secluded place again

overall a great 2* basic yes, clean yes, quiet yes and location good. If you intend to self cater take a few items a sharp knife large spoons etc as the kitchen lacks some basics. You will find frying pan very large pot a colander and a chopping board and that’s about it. crockery just about sufficient but no mugs. Bed is ok but quite firm. It is a 10/15 min walk to the shop restaurants and beech. Recommend the sea salt restaurant near the beach. George who runs the place is great and very helpful and the pool area excellent. It is on the flight path for the airport but with only a few flights a day it’s not a problem. Lidil 15 mins by car even worth a taxi as local shops are expensive. Would recommend for a quiet relaxing break but remember it is 2*
