I think frustrating would sum up my stay here just a few small tweaks could make the place loads better. I arrived at 11am after a night flight to be told I couldn't check in until 3pm despite the hotel being far from full which was slightly frustrating but I spent the afternoon by the pool. When I got my room keys I unpacked to then find the air con didn't work so had to repack to move rooms. In my new room the shower didn't work but to give them credit the head was replaced within 15 mins. There is a fridge and air con in the rooms but annoyingly no kettle. also the WiFi doesn't reach the rooms and phone signal is up and down. My bed was rock hard but the room was very quiet. The corridors and room doors are painted brown which gives it a bit of a dindgy feel. A lick of white paint would do no end of good. Right so I'll stop moaning now, the hotel is very close to the airport and you can watch the planes go right over the pool area (not frequent and not early or late). The pool area itself is very well kept I've never seen a pool this big before in a Greek hotel. However the sun loungers are mainly hard white plastic ones. sorry that was another moan. Everything in Svoronata is spread out and the location of the hotel is pretty good. Just a short walk to Ammes beach and about a 30min walk to 2 other beaches. There are also a handful of restaurants within a 20 min walking radius. Local mini supermarket,Katerina, with the only ATM I saw is also about 20 mins walk. There's loads of lobby space at Irinna and if they were a bit more enterprising they'd make a killing from having a small shop on site. Anyway I had a good holiday despite my moans and like you say you get what you pay for I guess

It does exactly what it says on the tin, it's cheap, clean, convenient, quiet hotel, the staff are lovely and helpful. It is not 5 star, so don't think you're going to get 5 star for the price and then moan about it. We had a twin room, two people, Seaview, continental breakfast, maid service, clean sheets and towels every other day, a 25 metre swimming pool, 50 euros a night. There are half a dozen good restaurants, two supermarkets, 2 excellent clean beaches with bars all within 20 min walking distance. Bus stop outside the front gate which can take you to the busier resort of Lassi, or a bit further the capital of the island, Argostolli, both with plentiful bars and restaurants. It is under the flight path for the airport, planes coming over during the day is quite the event, some days are busier than others but maybe 8 flights a day maximum, no night flights. It is also only a 5 min drive from the airport, 20 euro in a taxi. It would benefit from modernisation, but for 50 euro a night it is a great base for exploring the island.

Visited the lovely island of Kefalonia earlier this week and stayed at the Irinna Hotel. The hotel has a run down look about it, but spotlessly clean. I can't comment too much on food as I only booked breakfast, which was also very basic, but I did love the mini croissants. (their are plenty of restaurants nearby) The staff were very welcoming and attentive, lovely pool but basic plastic loungers. The rooms were again basic, had a balcony and cleaned daily with free air con. Bizarre shower/bath arrangement, and 90s style TV's (not that i needed or used mine) and fridge. Firm beds and clean sheets and towels daily, my main complaint about the room is i could constantly hear the lift mechanics throughout the night.
The hotel is on the final approach to the airport and I was never bored of the jets coming into land only a few hundred feet above the pool! They don't use this approach overnight so your sleep will not be disturbed. The hotel is on the bus loop to Argostoli which roughly runs every hour. Be warned though, all taxis charge a minimum of 20 euros so you may feel like your being fleeced on the journey to or from the airport.
The hotel bars are well stocked and generous measures, but could do with extra card machines rather then having to go to reception to pay for your drinks by card.
Ammas Beach is a 10 min walk away by using the side road or gap in fence rather then the main entrance.

I booked this hotel and had read all reviews before so I was not expecting big things given the price + age of the hotel. I was expecting basic, however I would never go back. The hotel is clean + our cleaner did a great job of cleaning our room each day. The breakfast provided was very basic, location was close enough to several tavernas, however if you want to see the beauty of kefalonia I advise hiring a car.

The staff at this hotel are so unhelpful, we had a problem with our bed (beware they are very uncomfortable) being broken and they were useless at helping us, in fact each occasion we spoke to the reception they were rude + not willing to help, even on arrival. The corridors are so loud with constant door slamming + no lights in the reception areas. Wifi was also unable to reach the rooms and being near the airport reception was hard to get.

I stayed in the Irinna Hotel in September 2022 and was not disappointed all of staff led by Soula are very friendly, helpful and in typical Greek style do their utmost to ensure that the guests have the best possible experience during their holiday. The hotel is spotlessly clean the rooms are serviced everyday and all towels/bedding changed. There are 2 beautiful swimming pools one of which is shallow for small children to paddle in they are both cleaned and lovingly serviced by George the maintenance man daily. The hotel bar is a large comfortable and welcoming area which is well stocked and Panos who is a master cocktail maker does his best to meet the needs of the most discerning drinker. In the restaurant Marina the hard working chef provides a varied and interesting selection of dishes for dinner and breakfast which is of a continental style with a good selection foods to choose from. The local area is quiet and relaxing if you want a water park this is not for you, there are 2 beaches within walking distance and a good selection of excellent places to eat and drink. In summary the Irinna is a well kept secret and if you want a quiet relaxing holiday it is the place for you.

Wow great holiday and great location 👍
We have just got back from a weeks stay and it’s a great base hotel with a bus stop right outside the hotel to explore the island and it’s only 2 euros per person.

The main feature is the hotel pool, it’s massive ! Plenty of sun beds so you don’t have to race down and get one .

The breakfast is basic but for 5 euros they will cook you a English breakfast ( bacon and eggs)
The snack bar by the pool is great for drinks and snacks throughout the day .

The rooms are ok and the cleaners do a fantastic job keeping them clean and tidy.

We found the staff very helpful and they answered the questions which we had.

There are 2 local beaches which are both around a 10 minute walk, we liked Ammes beach the best and the snack bar on the beach is amazing.

We found the nightlife here very quite, only a few restaurants ( which again are about a 10 minute walk from the hotel)

We had a trip ( by bus) to the main harbour which was really nice and a trip to Lassi beach ( be careful of the jellyfish they sting) .
Lassi has around 5 beautiful beaches which all offer water sports.

All in all a great holiday 🏝

I was looking for somewhere by the sea (I had an exquisite sea view and could hop to the beach on one leg if challenged!), with a pool (Irinna Hotel’s pool is so pristine clean, it shimmers from the pool bar which offers fresh salads, toasted and the like!)

The staff are oh so lovely, nothing is too much trouble. They are genuine, authentically friendly and just really wonderful. My room was cleaned everyday, fresh towels and toiletries replenished, by the very wonderful, cheery cleaners.

I’d recommend Irinna Hotel to families, groups looking for a sound base to explore Kefalonia (the bus links are brilliant) couples looking for a quiet break away and solo travellers alike.

(Pictures are from my balcony).

just returned from 2 weeks at Irinna hotel
We had a very good experience
Hotel is a bit dated but it did not ruin our stay at all.
Rooms are basic but cleaned every day with bedding and towels replaced.
Take a showerhead holder to stick on the wall and the shower is good with loads of hot water.
Breakfast is good and we did not at any time have over cooked eggs.
Swimming pool is large and kept clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds.
We had a late flight and were able to keep our room until 6pm with no extra charge.
Hotel staff were all polite and very helpful.
Would highly recommend this hotel its not a 5 star hotel but you are not paying 5 star rates

Absolutely fuming, I explained to the waiter that I have an egg allergy and was told no eggs, when my burger arrived I tried a nibble and it contained eggs; I had to run to my room to get my epi-pen and make myself sick, fortunately for my daughters and my family I never died obviously as I’m writing this damming review, I told the waiter he could have killed me, I wasn’t satisfied with his apology, he is a stupid person, common sense would say check the rest of the food to be sure so I had a reaction within seconds of having a nibble of the burger, went to my room and was left alone, in the meantime my whole mouth was tingling and I was very panicked thinking I could die today. No one come to the room to see if I was ok, my windpipe has swollen in the past that’s why I have an epi pen, this was a terrifying situation for me. I complained at reception, explained to the manager what just happened and what could have happened in an attempt to raise awareness and list allergens on the menu or train the staff! She said it’s just 1 egg in 10kg meat I don’t think it will be a problem! Wtaf I’m dealing with complete morons at this point. I told them I’m not paying for my food and was set to pack my stuff and go to the airport and wait for my flight home. As a result of this I’m never going abroad again and I’m not eating anything until I get back home. They could have had a dead body to deal with today. They don’t care, I doubt any action will be taken in light of this horrible situation and I have lost any trust in people handling my food. If you go here and you have allergies be extra extra careful!!

If I could give a zero rating I would!!
