This was our fourth visit to these fabulous apartments - why look anywhere else when we have discovered the perfect place in such a gorgeous village? This time we stayed in the Pool View apartment, which is very comfortable - light and airy with a small private balcony and well equipped kitchen (though we often ate down in the courtyard where it was cooler). We thoroughly enjoyed the En Blanc et Noir piano festival which we’d stumbled upon by accident when visiting back in 2015. It’s an annual festival - 15 free concerts in the Place de La Halle with amazing young pianists and other musicians from many countries. Even if you’re not a fan of classical music or jazz, it’s worth going along for the atmosphere - a glass of wine, swallows soaring overhead and warm sunshine - what’s not to like? We had excellent meals at La Cocotte Felee, Le Bastion and Le Temps de Courges this time; there’s a great choice of restaurants and bars for every taste in the village. There is plenty of interest further afield - Cathar castles, Carcassonne and the coast within driving distance, but having visited those on previous visits we enjoyed just relaxing, walking in the local area, swimming in the river and the pool and reading in the lovely courtyard. Claire and Guy are great hosts - everything you could need for a self-catering holiday is provided, and they can advise on all sorts of activities, eating places etc. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed in the Terrace Apartment which was perfect for a couple. The apartment was well equipped, had a comfortable bed, lovely terrace and everything you need for a great weeks stay. Clarie and Guy were fantastic hosts and nothing was a problem. We would highly recommend this apartment or any of the other apartments for a stay in Lagrasse.

What can we say except - you should go! We stayed in the Studio Apartment, which was exactly as advertised - beautiful! We had everything we could possibly need, from ample towels to good quality bed linens, a well stocked firewood pile to a comfortable couch, bed and dining area. The outside area is perfect! Lots of places to sit and relax, shade when you need it, a pool when you don’t. And, again, it’s beautiful. Our hosts, Claire and Guy, were welcoming, helpful and friendly. They helped us choose lovely restaurants and directed us to some fabulous places to visit - both in the village and the in the surrounding district. Lagrasse itself is almost magical! It has a pretty river, medieval cobbled streets and lots of restaurants. There is a local boulangerie, a small grocery store, and a pharmacy, as well as as lots of tourist-centred shops and a fabulous weekly market.

This spring, it was the second time we spent some wonderful days in the terrace apartment in Lagrasse. We loved the stay. The apartment is modern, spacious, tastefully furnished and clean. It leaves nothing to be desired. The view from the terrace into the garden with the cherry tree in bloom was admirable. Lagrasse is beautifully situated on the banks of the river Orbieu and is a good starting point for exploring the Languedoc-Roussillon with its beautiful hiking areas, its Cathar castles, and so much more that can be discovered. The hosts, Guy and Claire, are welcoming and helpful. We are looking forward to coming back.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was lovely to meet you all and chat. Really glad that you enjoyed staying in the apartment and found Lagrasse beautiful. It is a little gem tucked away. Guy and I must make the short journey to Mirepoix to meet Elizabeth and John. I love the market there. Best wishes to you. Claire and Guy

Exceptional accommodation in a perfectly renovated building. Guy and Claire were the perfect hosts and provided us with lots of information on the area and things to see and do. Nice touches like the welcoming bottle of wine, spotlessly clean apartment, and overlooking a gorgeous courtyard. We shall return !

Splendid architectural windows. Stone feature walls. Tall ceilings. Wood beams. Tile and hardwood floors. Lovely bed-linens. Spacious bedrooms. Lovely ensuites. I enjoyed several weeks through the winter months in the Arch apartment. And coming from North America, (where there is very little grace in the age of architecture) I was in awe of the darling ancient town and this charming 800 year old home. The suite met all my needs with modern fixtures/appliances, but so much more it provided an artful aesthetic in which to bathe. I felt inspired, delighted, and indulged. The hosts are lovely. I would happily return.

What a wonderful descriptive review of the Arch Apartment. Thank you. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with us in the winter and enjoyed your stay in the apartment and exploring the wider area. It is a beautiful village and I must admit every time I walk through the streets the architecture and the sheer history of the village always amazes me. Best wishes to you. Claire and Guy

We stayed in the Terrace apartment for 26 nights and I have to say it’s one of our most memorable work/holiday experiences in Europe. The ancient building is arranged around a courtyard which provides all the amenities you would want including communal cooking and dining, relaxing and swimming. The plus point of the Terrace was it’s namesake, which provided a private area as well. Guy snd Claire were the perfect hosts, available but not intrusive and of course, a wealth of local information at their fingertips . Dog friendly out of the high season too! Perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is very much appreciated. It was lovely to meet you both and Scooby. We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay in the Terrace Apartment despite having to combine holiday with work. It is always reassuring to hear from guests that the properties work with the communal areas plus the private areas. We are becoming a poplar destination for guests to do exactly what you did work/holiday. With great fibre connection it certainly makes it easy for guests to combine the two. We wish you our best wishes. Claire and Guy

This was our 2nd stay in the pool view apartment and it was even better the 2nd time around. We loved the apartment over looking the pool, it is compact and comfortable with a great kitchen, not that we did a lot of cooking this time. Guy and Claire are great hosts and really helped me out when i developed toothache , they are great company. We will definitely be going back again!!
