New owners, John and Lynda, will be transforming the house into more of a townhouse with rooms for business people to stay during the week. The house itself, built in 1670, is beautiful, and I really enjoyed staying on "the high street" in Chipping Sodbury. Great location and looking forward to coming back.

Stayed here while attending a wedding in the nearby villages. The room itself was quirky (room number 9 with the curtained off bathroom) with loads of space. We found we had to open the windows when we arrived as the weather was warm and listed buildings do hold the heat! This did the trick and when we returned the room... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel, it is much appreciated. Please accept our sincere apologies that you were unable to park when you returned late at night, most guests leave the car in the car park and take a taxi or even walk when attending local weddings. There is very little we can do when guests... More

We stayed here on our wedding night July 30th, because we could walk from our wedding venue. Although we didn't take enough time to appreciate it, our room was beautiful with a roll top bath, the breakfast good and the location picturesque. When we arrived late in the evening there was a card congratulating us and a box of chocolates.... More

An old house in the middle of town. Quite dated and gruby - but with a charming host. I was unlucky and got the deluxe double room 9. Very few hotels have the benefit of the bath and toilet in the room with your bed. Room 9 is on the front of the hotel so I could listen to the... More

We stayed at the Rounceval at the weekend for 3 nights. The room was very nice and quiet as is the whole hotel. You have tea ,coffee bottled water in the room plus great wifi in all rooms. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is amazing . The place is very clean and even on the top floor... More

Good location at end of high street, good looking hotel with friendly check in. Had a problrm with our room door not locking but was sorted quite quickly. The twin beds were a little wobbly and soft but these issues aside our stay was very enjoyable. Would recommend to all if staying in Chipping Sodbury.

Stayed here on way back from Cornwall. Lovely old building full of character situated at the end of the High Street so ideal position. Very nice room and en-suite overlooking the rear of the property and garden which was well cared for. Breakfast was excellent in nice light dining room. Had an evening meal at the Italian restaurant next door... More

We stayed here as a family of 4 in the family room on Thursday 26th of June. We were greeted by a very friendly and polite guy who booked us in with a smile and didn't linger too long as some hosts do. We just wanted to get to our room after a long drive and go out to eat.... More

Stayed here visiting friends. Initially considered the website welcoming, price reasonable and response from the hotel was prompt and welcoming. The reality was the hotel was ok, if the welcome wasn't overly personal. The room was fairly dated, small and developed clearly to maximise the room numbers at the expense of customer comfort. The bed was uncomfortable, with the bathroom... More

Thank you for your feedback. First and foremost I must offer our sincere apologies that you failed to find your stay with us comfortable. The property is dated from the seventeenth century (1670) and is grade two listed and as such does present some challenges and we fully appreciate that some guests prefer a more modern facility. Unfortunately there is... More
