I will never forget this amazing experience at the Quatermain`s 1920 Safari Camp. The whole team and the owners are such great and genuin people, they all have a big passion for what they do and all the wildlife in the bush. We had so much fun and it felt like visiting old friends. The food was fantastic and man... More

The Camp is very basic, three tents, common area around a fire place and a staff kitchen. We got to experience a Game Drive at Shamwari. Lungi was an amazing guide. It was so interesting to see how he found all those animals. Fantastic experience. Everyone was very nice, especially our young hostess, who had just started there. She made... More

Thank you so much for your very valuable review, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and your game drive with Lungi. You are absolutely right, we are a rustic bush camp, and as such we are basic, which is how we market ourselves and also why we are 3 star rated. I feel it's a... More

Just returned home from SA what an amazing adventure. The highlight for me was a 3 night stay at Quatermains 1920s safari camp. We were made to feel very welcome. The tents are really comfortable very cosy and warm ( the weather was a bit chilly whilst we were there) hot water bottles in our bed at night lovely. Craig... More

We stayed in a luxury tent here on the last night of our honeymoon, and what a great move. The safari on the first afternoon was the best we had, and saw rhinos close up, and hippos in the river, and 2 cobras, none of which we had seen in other reserves. And then we got back to a lovely... More

First of all - I've been to all the four and five star Safari Lodges so I have something to compare this with. This is a budget camp, BUT if you don't care to much about a private pool (which you won't use anyway, either because it's too cold or because you've got better things to do on a safari)... More

Quatermain's is a great place to stay and enjoy the wildlife of Africa. The camp is very small with only 3 tents so the safari vehicle is never crowded. They can also look after each person as an individual and managed to provide lovely meals even for the fussy eaters in our group. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable -... More

We stayed for three days at Rhiaan and Lucy's very special lodge. A tent with a view, a nice drink and enjoying a fine meal cooked by Sam at the fireplace. Gazing at the stars, listening to the distant Lions roar, while talking about the animals you spotted during the day trips with Graig and Lungi. Rhino's, cheetah, Lion and... More

If you are looking for the authentic experience, sleeping in a tent, searching for animals, having conversations over good food, good fire with good people. This is the place you MUST go for. You will have your best game drives with Quatermain. I booked a 3D2N stay with them and I love it. It is one of the highlight of... More

Absolutely amazing experience! The setting is gorgeous and the tent treads the line between camping and luxury perfectly. The hosting party are all so welcoming and very knowledgeable, answering my onslaught of questions with ease. Each safari drive was fantastic seeing a whole host of animals each day. The walking safari was awesome too learning all the things that would... More
