Before Holgates took over, as a child I stayed here many times throughout the 70s on camping holidays with my grandad, usually twice a year! In those days the current park was run by 2 farms. We always stayed at Detron Gate Farm, which was the one nearest the A6 and the railway.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, so glad you've enjoyed your stay and found everything to your satisfaction. Apologies for the extractor fan but obviously for the bar and restaurant to stay in peak condition we do have to run it everyday. We are glad to have given you a nostalgic stay at Bay View and hope you will join us again soon. The Holgates Team

Thank you for taking the time to comment, so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are looking into providing facilities for dogs so this should be alleviated it in the future. Regarding the hill although it is steep we feel it is beneficial as it hides us from the road. The Holgates Team

Is the site easy to access when towing. Visiting soon and sometimes campsites have been difficult to access when towing due to single track roads and meeting vehicles coming the opposite way! Thank you.
Hi quite easy to reach from the m6 there is a good tarmac road to reception and anyone coming out of site can see on coming traffic and can pull in . We have a 27ft van and had no problem. Hope this helps you

Can anyone recommend any nice pubs to eat at within easy walking distance of the caravan park and whats the food at the on site restaurant like as the website doesn't give much information re type of food, menu, price etc! Thank you.
On site restaurant is very good and not expensive, there is also a good bar, do not remember any pubs close, but there is a bus that stops at the gate for Morecambe. It is quite a walk though from the touring park to the bus stop.

Good evening. Myself and my partner like a quiter site. Out of all the holgates would this be the quiter of the three touring parks and can you confirm approx walking time to Bolton lee sands and silverdale? Many thanks Amy
HI Amy, Sorry for the delay in response. Hollin's would probably be our quietest touring park and is a 10 minute walk to Silverdale. If you were to stay at Bay View it would be 10 minute walk to Bolton le Sands and to Silverdale it would be 2hours and is a very bad road to walk on. Hope this has been of some help. Jessica
