Something noticeable with this hotel that we missed is that its a conference hotel, meaning the rooms are quite simple and basic but a bit larger then the normal conference hotel rooms. We had a normal double room in the main building, it was clean and basic. The shower had OK pressure, no amenities except the large bottles on the wall for soap and shampoo, no body lotion. The room was at least fairly quiet so we slept OK.

The spa is quite small but we were fortunate that there wasn't that many people there, one hot pool outside with corona restrictions to 6 people and then one jacuzzi inside restriction of 4 and then a larger pool. Some seats both outside and inside. We changed in the room which was good as the showers were not so clean looking. It was also possible to get wine and beer to the pool area.

We had a package with a 4 course dinner, the menu was the same as the 3 course just with an additional small cheese plate. We felt that the cheese plate wasnt a fun surprise we had expected more of a "real" 4 course dinner. There was no choices for the 4 course dinner but they were nice to switch out the starter as we dont like mushrooms.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel in the beginning of January. We booked the spa package and a dog room in the main building.
Check in was without any problem. Nice receptionist which helped us change rooms, since first room was on the 1st floor, room 110, our dog would have seen the people go by outside (wouldn’t be able to relax) and the view was right onto a stone wall. We made an upgrade to a mini suite, room 504, for 500sek extra, which really was worth it.
Lovely room with living room, big bed room, bath and balcony.
Very clean and felt spacious.
Negative about the room was, that the beds are very soft and pillows really big and hard. Not very comfortable. And that it was cold in the room so we needed to ask for a heater. But Problem got solved quickly.
We booked a three meal course each night and it was delicious. Nice and friendly staff here as well. Prices for a small beer start at 85 Sek which is really expensive though.
Breakfast was the best I’ve seen in Sweden so far. Nothing was missed. And the waffle maker was a big plus. Also the fire place made it really cosy.
The spa was little and on Saturday really crowded. Friday night was lovely since only a few people where there after dinner. Two in house saunas, 1 outside, 1 jacuzzi and a pool. Not really anything special. Could be improved by an outside jacuzzi. Very welcoming and nice staff here too.
Smögen overall is beautiful and the views from our room and the dining room are breathtaking. Lots of lovely walks on the cliffs and to town, which is very close.
I can recommend the hotel, but would try to book the main building and a room with a view.

We were here New Year 2021/2022 and had booked a New Year offer including a 5 course dinner in the evening. Everything was great, the rooms were spacious and we had a nice terrace outside. It was a nice dinner, with me as a vegetarian have no problem getting that. They really tried making my food as festive as everyone else, which is highly appreciated. the second day we had spa-time and it was not crowded and had a beautiful view over the archipelago. In some areas you could see that the place could be in need of a little touch up.
Could really see the benefits of coming here in the summer, being so close to the sea.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience. We're glad to hear that your New Year's stay, including the 5-course dinner, was enjoyable. It's great to know that the rooms were spacious and had a nice terrace for you to relax on. We're also pleased that the staff accommodated your vegetarian needs and made your food just as festive as everyone else's. We're delighted that you had a pleasant spa experience with a beautiful view of the archipelago. Don’t get lured into this place, the location is beautiful, but the hotel or rather HOSTEL is very low standard!! Don’t want to sound cheap but you get for 3000sek/night room which is worth no more than 300sek. It was one of the worst experiences in my live, traveling with two small kids, wife been lured into the super fantastic family room, and when we get there is room from 60’s barely renovated since. I was so discussed that I was scared to touch anything. Bathroom stinks 😷 the cheapest shampoo and soap. Tried to change room immediately, but was ignored by the staff, and never made it to meet any manager. I hope my review will help someone not to be disappointed as I’m ☹️

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. It's important to have accurate expectations when booking accommodations, especially when traveling with a family. It sounds like the hostel did not meet your standards and that the room and amenities fell below your expectations. I understand your frustration with the lack of response from the staff and the inability to change rooms. Your review will certainly provide valuable information for others considering this accommodation. I hope you have better experiences in your future travels.

We stayed for one night and in general it was quite ok. The SPA was very nice but maybe a little too small. The dinner was very good.
We had a room in the annex, läsidan, which was located 150 meters from the main building which was not the best alternative since it was some rain showers. The room and the beds was excellent.

We arrived at check in 3pm and where greeted by welcoming staff telling us about the hotel and Spa and made the reservation for dinner in the evening. Had a nice room at the main building. (If you do not get at the main building their connected building is 100-200 meters walk from the main building). Nice room, bathroom and we both had a good night of sleep. Dinner was perfect, nice staff and breakfast had the usual options as expected. Nice view from the restaurant area over the sea! We will definitely come back later on this year.

Stunning location! Beautiful scenario. Surprisingly many people at the hotel although off season. One can only sense the buzz during summer time. Hotel room very outdated. Although very spacious. Tidy. Room on the new side? Bit noisy as the doors don’t hold any noise. Gym not one expected. Definitely an experience.

Family room that was about as big as a closet. Broken furniture, shabby decor.
Staff are nice but not very experienced. Breakfast is what you would expect at a hostel. No table service, no options.

4 stars? No way. Avoid!

Smögen as an area is very nice, but the hotel is definitely overrated. The sound isolation is very poor (we stayed in the main house) and the doors were slamming late into the night. We ate dinner at the terrace and the fish stew was more a thin soup. We took the cheese platter and got two tiny bits of cheese, two small crackers and 1 dl of jam. Very strange composition.

The staff was mainly friendly and the breakfast was good.

I would not select this hotel again because it is average but the pricing is high.

Hello Predrag P I am sorry that we didn't meet your expectations, The hotel is not newly built but was built in the 1900's. which we think is part of the charm. Our ambition is to have a really good kitchen, where we have to work harder. thanks for the feedback Sincerely Nils Folkesson
